Joining under the pretense of exile. Glenn dared to put it that way.

Perhaps, as Leones Dreamside had said, this was the perfect opportunity to wash away Vidia Dreamside’s sins. It was certainly a statement befitting a leader of a race, but it could also be seen as a fatherly aspect of a child.

“Oops, guys, guys! I forgot to tell you!”

As Glenn was coming out of his flashbacks, Sieta’s voice rang out again. Many of the elves who thought the meeting was over were about to turn around, but stopped at those words. Sieta waved her arms and made a shocking statement in a bright voice.

“The Suin Tribe has decided to participate in this festival! Not all of them, but Tigress Feline, the leader of the Suin Tribe, and several of her disciples will participate. Please note!”

    “, Huh?”

    “Su, the Suin tribe..?”

“Dwarfs, those little guys, they’re more extreme than that, they’re participating in the festival?”

“Will the dwarves come looking for me like this?”

There was a murmur, but no one seemed to be particularly opposed. Everyone just seemed surprised, as if it was something new. Only then did Glenn recall his memories. Clearly, he had said that when he first met Sieta Dreamside.

‘Later, please come to our forest. You can discuss it with your father and then decide. Okay, Little Tig?’

Thinking back, the expression “kid” was definitely shocking. That meant that Sieta Dreamside was at least a few decades older than the white-haired man who was said to be the leader of the tribe…

“Hey, little knight! You were thinking something strange, weren’t you? A sinister thought at that!”

    “Not at all.”

    “That’s a lie? That’s shameless, really!”

Ugh, when did you see this? Glenn tried to turn his head away and pretend not to know, but Sieta didn’t seem to be removing her suspicious gaze as if she had already read his thoughts.

After hearing Sieta’s declaration, the elves chattered amongst themselves and returned to their own lairs, while Sieta returned to the group of humans who had been waiting with her parents. Milicia, of course, was with her.

    “Sinister thoughts…Glen?”

“That’s not it! It’s just…if I had used the word kid, I would have to be at least a few decades older than that old man to use it, which would be funny…Oh my…”

“This guy, he’s still wet…what the hell is he doing?”

Glenn, who had made excuses in response to Militia’s sudden words, immediately regretted it.

Because a strange atmosphere rose up near Sieta. No, no! Isn’t that too petty? Is it such a crime to guess her age?

As Glenn hesitated about whether he should raise his magic power for instant defense, the words of the Dreamside couple flowed into his ears.

“Sieta, take care of yourself. Aren’t you the one who saved our forest?”

“Your father is right, Sieta…and Mr. Glen? Even if they are of another race…it is very rude to judge a woman’s age without caution?”

The ones who cleaned up the place were, again, two adults(?). The Dreamside couple calmly scolded Sieta and Glenn. However, another person came up to Glenn and made a stern face.

“Glen, I don’t think it’s right to say such thoughts out loud. Please be careful and apologize quickly.”

    “Oh, yes. Sorry…”

Glenn was intimidated by the sight of the saint giving him a stern warning and apologized meekly, but Sieta had a strangely proud expression on her face.

“That’s right! The saintess said good things! If you did something wrong, you should apologize, right, right!”

    “Sieta…”

“Oh, I see. Dad! I’m sorry for threatening you. The Saint’s little knight?”

That’s a tone that is so open and full of emotion!

Glenn gritted his teeth, but suppressed his anger for now. When Leones Dreamside saw that the conflict between his daughter and the human adventurers had been resolved, he stood before the human party and opened his mouth.

“Everyone. Once again, thank you for helping us solve the crisis of our forest. If you are so kind, please help us one more time… We will never forget this favor and repay you. ”

    “Help, please?”

“Oh, are you asking me to help you prepare for the festival?”

Among the bewildered group of people, Alina, who had a strangely good sense, asked a question with anticipation. Leones smiled brightly. It seemed that she had guessed correctly.

“Yes. For the festival tomorrow night, there are many things to prepare. I would like to actively seek the help of people with great abilities like you. As you know…Esteel is already in the works.”

    “Oh, oh…”

    “Esteel, is that you?”

    What’s going on?

The party was all bewildered. Estil Sabre, the most reluctant of the upper-level adventurers to engage in outside activities, no, even among adventurers, he showed a peculiar aversion to it, and yet he had already begun preparing for the festival.

“He was quite annoyed, but… I told him that I would give him some rare plants that I had secretly collected as compensation for this work, and he readily accepted. As expected of someone who enjoys research.”

    ‘As expected.’

Leones’ answer, in a way, twisted Glenn’s expectations, but at the same time, it made him smile. Estill Sabre, who was synonymous with being annoying, would not easily do something for others.

Well, saving the Elf Forest was something that her life depended on, so it couldn’t be helped.

“My wife and daughter will tell you what roles you will play at the festival.”

“Hoohoohoo, are you ready to surrender to my mother and I’s fantastic conducting, everyone?”

Glenn wanted to jeer at Sieta, who was proudly leaning forward. However, once again, an adult(?) stepped in and took care of the situation. Easily.

“Sieta, what does that mean to those who are reaching out? Thank you all for your help. Please look forward to the surprise gift after the festival ends?”

Fulvia Dreamside, who winked and playfully spoke with one eye, received a positive response. The human adventurers’ faces were flushed and they were radiating positive energy. Except for Glenn.

    “Oh, of course!”

“Wow, touching the festival of a beautiful race… It’s taboo, but it’s an offer too sweet to refuse.”

“Wow! Preparing for a festival! I’ve never done anything like putting up a banner when I was little!”

“What, you guys. Haven’t you prepared for camping? Just set up a camping tent. Juniors!”

“Mr. Grimes… This is an elf festival, but do they set up tents like humans? Or an army? ”

    “Oops!”

    “Hahahahaha!”

The adventurers chatted happily and headed towards Fulvia Dreamside. However, Sister Esther and Monk Benedix stayed by Milicia. They were whispering very carefully, but Glenn couldn’t hear them, and he could infer a few words.

    “The Northern Kingdom…within a week…what will be the impact…”

“I know it’s hard because of the time, but…Vidia’s physical condition…”

    “Saint…then…”

The atmosphere was quite serious, so Glenn eventually couldn’t hold back his curiosity and went closer to try to eavesdrop. However, someone stopped him. No, it wasn’t just Glenn.

“Thank you for your help, everyone. But…Glenn and Alina? I have a suggestion for you two…”

    “Huh?”

“There are people who want to meet you two. I would like to guide you. Is that okay?”

    “Huh? Me and…my brother?”

It was a bewildering offer. Why would it be anyone else, but himself and Alina? Glenn hesitated for a moment, but he felt too embarrassed to refuse, so he nodded.

    “For now…I’ll do that.”

Leones gave a subtle smile at Glenn’s affirmative answer, a smile that seemed to silently convey that he was grateful for his acceptance of the offer, but at the same time, that he was truly sorry.

“Thank you, both of you. Well then…I’ll show you around. Okay, this way…”

    “Oh, where are you going?”

“These are the elders who are staying at my residence.”

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

The Gray Tree Mansion was already familiar to Glenn and Alina. It was natural since they had only stayed here since entering the Elven Forest. However, the place that Leones Dreamside had guided them to was the most unfamiliar place in the Gray Tree Mansion.

The siblings followed Leones, who had only walked halfway up the mansion’s stairs, which normally required climbing all the way to the top, and then entered the passageway next to it, looking bewildered. In the meantime, they did not forget to whisper to each other and share their fantasies.

“Brother… Do you happen to know any of the elf elders? Maybe that’s why they’re calling us?”

    “How could that be?”

“You might have forgotten. Why, you said you came here with Sister Briwen before? Did one of the elders keep an eye on you then?”

“How could that be? At that time, I couldn’t enter the place where the elves lived. It was a request to defeat a kind of traitor who escaped from the elf forest.”

“Then why are you calling me, oppa? Hot, really…is it because we actually have…elven ancestors in our genealogy? ”

“How would the elders, who have never seen us, know whether there are elves in our blood or not?”

    “But…”

But still. Glenn ignored his brother’s absurd reasoning. However, inside, he was also confused. He was calm on the outside because it had been happening all the time for the past few months, but he was getting a headache from the unexpected future that kept happening.

There was no time for this. I had to ask Estil or the others right away… and spend some serious time at ‘that place’ that I would never have again. I desperately wanted to panic, but I held back. I held back for now.

    “It’s here.”

A moment later, Leones stopped dead in his tracks. His tone of speech had become familiar. Was it because he was carrying out his role as the head of a clan? In any case, there was a door right in front of where he had stopped. Unlike the other rooms, it was painted white. The two of them stared blankly at the white door for a moment, as it was so different from the colors of the mansion.

“We elves often paint the doors of the places where they stay white as a sign of respect for those who have lived long lives… much longer than you might think. We do this to let people know that there are people who have lived long lives in this room, in this mansion, in this land. It also implies that everyone should be respectful and courteous before entering.”

Glenn and Alina nodded absentmindedly to Leones, who kindly explained it to them, even though they didn’t ask honestly.

“Elders? I have brought you two. The male is named Glenn and the female is named Alina. Let’s go in.”

Leones declared as he walked towards the door and grabbed the handle.

The moment he slowly opened the door, Alina cautiously clung to Glenn’s left arm. Instinctively, she felt nervous, and unconsciously, she clung to her own flesh and blood. Glenn didn’t scold her. He was nervous too.

Inside the open door, two people were sitting on two comfortable chairs. Their pointed ears were no different from those of elves, but their appearance and body were similar to those of old humans that Glenn and Alina had seen many times. Certainly, they could be called elders of the elves.

Why on earth did these two people, who had lived for ages unimaginable to humans, call Glenn and Alina? Was it because their instinctive senses, gained from their experience over the years, were telling them to warn them?

All of Glenn’s delusions were shattered by a single word uttered by a woman who seemed to be one of the elders.

    “Eh, tsk tsk… I didn’t know they were such little brats… Hey, you’re a warrior, aren’t you? ”

    “Not at all.”

Filled with displeasure, Glenn ended up answering coldly.
