Chapter Index

    Kwajik!

Black blood flowed down his pale hands.

The force of the blow cracked the stone floor, and the recoil from the force left a wound on the hand of the striker.

But soon after, the bleeding stopped and the wound on his hand healed as if nothing had happened.

“What the heck! Why won’t this wound go away!!!”

    bang!

This time, it was Satanael who struck down the head of the dark elf woman who was serving him.

Her head disappeared like a burst balloon and she fell to the floor like a puppet with its strings cut, but Satanael paid no attention and just gasped for breath and grew angry.

The scar from the sword that Black Sword Oregon swung at the end still torments Satanael even after many years.

The wounds from that time, which I thought would heal quickly, still burn like fire, vividly recalling the pain of that day.

“Damn it! If only there was more information about Blue Flower… .”

The search for the magical flower that would solve all of this was delayed.

First of all, it was difficult to find the location because even in ancient literature, it was only written that it grows in dark places where sunlight shines.

I continued my search in the south, believing that the additional documents I found the other day said that it had been discovered in the southern part of the empire.

This time, his enemy, the Crimson Warden, was interfering with everything.

    “Gather the executives!”

At Satanael’s command, one of the dark elves who had been guarding his side nodded and disappeared in an instant.

He now decided that he had to put an end to these odious old compatriots.

Rash was walking through the forest of the spirit world with Ada as usual.

Of course, one difference was that Ada, who had to run faster than usual, was lying on Rash’s back like laundry hanging out on the floor.

    “Boom!”

“Ada was born without a witch to defeat… .”

Rash sighed inwardly as he saw Ada speaking in a slumped and listless voice.

In Rash’s eyes, the human named Oun was extremely strong. He seemed to be the third strongest human he had ever seen, so it was only natural that Ada had been defeated this time.

But since then, Ada had been looking listless and lethargic, so Rash brought her out into the forest himself.

-Lucas, if a trustworthy person ever appears, you should tell only him about this place.

He turned his head to look at the girl on his back, remembering the words of his mother, who was the ruler of the forest and the guardian of the blue flowers.

This girl always bothered him, but she was definitely the trustworthy person his mother said she was.

Her mother always taught her how to smell, and this girl always exuded a bright and positive scent.

So I used to look for nice smelling things in the forest and feed them.

I’m talking about the things that other bad smelling humans are looking for with their eyes lit up.

    “Boom!”

“Huh! You want me to eat this again?”

A cave hidden deep in the forest that Ada has designated as her secret place.

Rash, who had carried Ada there, started barking, pointing to the blue flowers blooming inside the cave.

Ada refused to eat the blue flower, saying it was tasteless, but when Ratch continued to bark, she quickly began eating the blue flower with a pouty face.

And watching that scene, Rash thought.

If this girl had this treasure that her clan had been protecting, it would definitely be okay.

    “I was really surprised.”

Rupert was thinking about a student he had met at the academy during the holidays.

When he arrived at the music department lecture room, drawn by the sweet and bright sound of music coming from somewhere, and found Wolfgang playing the piano with one hand, he couldn’t help but be surprised.

The music in this other world was great. The only regret is that it was developed for the nobles.

Basically, it was mainly composed of grand and heavy melodies, so it was often tiring to listen to it.

The music was magnificent, meticulously calculated and structured like a formula, not allowing any gaps, but it did not allow the listener any leeway.

Of course, that kind of music was attractive and essential to an epic story, but the music Rupert wanted was a bit lighter and more comfortable melody.

When I was feeling a little regretful about music, I thought that Wolfgang, who created the music that Rupert had imagined as if by a miracle, was a gift from heaven.

‘Would you please give me your left hand?’

Since Rupert already had a solution to the problem Wolfgang was having, he offered it to him right away, and he immediately accepted.

‘If you grant me a new type of golem arm like His Highness the Crown Prince’s, I will repay this favor for the rest of my life!’

In fact, it’s not like Wolfgang didn’t think about the Golem’s number.

However, all of the ones currently on the market are minor versions of what Krun made at Somerset Workshop, so they are not very helpful for detailed work.

I could live my daily life, but I gave up on complicated tasks like playing an instrument because it was difficult.

Rupert’s offer to provide genuine Somerset workmanship was a dream come true for him.

Wolfgang, who immediately left for Somerset Workshop to make a prosthetic hand, had promised to write the theme song for the animation Rupert would make in the future.

“It’s a good thing, because the only thing I regret about the Sylvania Music Troupe was the music.”

If it was a work he had led, Rupert would have found the music he wanted and changed it, but since it was the result of his students’ hard work, he passed on it.

But since I was so sad, I was lucky to have a reliable person like Wolfgang who would take charge of the new music.

“Then I should draw a cartoon now.”

With the start of the summer vacation and more free time in his schedule, Rupert decided to put more effort into the part that was to be serialized this time.

It had already been three months since Manapia was published, so the work had made considerable progress, and since this work was intended to be short and concise from the beginning, a scene that would leave a deep impression on people was needed.

‘I was impressed by the atmosphere.’

Even Muller, who had the best skills in the territory, acknowledged Own’s ability to block Ada’s mysterious attacks.

‘You can’t hurt the young lady, so you’re only defending, but the fact that you can hold out like that shows that your fundamentals are solid.’

Mullers was commentating the battle between Ada and Own to Rupert and his father.

‘But Ada is only 8 years old. Is that possible?’

    ‘… .’

But he couldn’t answer Rupert’s question.

Anyway, Rupert, seeing that kind of appearance, got inspiration from it.

‘Now that the main character has completed his training and is about to fight against low-level vampires, we need to introduce a powerful enemy to create tension.’

It was one of the techniques frequently used in comics.

It is important to highlight the protagonist’s strength, but if that is all that is shown, readers will quickly lose interest.

So, you need to introduce a strong opponent at the right time, and here it is divided into two parts.

‘The most basic way is to send out an opponent who is slightly stronger than the main character and barely win.’

In any boys’ comic, there is always a scene where the protagonist wins against an enemy stronger than him through friendship and hard work.

However, because it is such a basic method, it is now easy to be evaluated as boring unless it is made quite well.

    ‘The second is sacrifice.’

The second method was to put the protagonist in danger by introducing an overwhelming opponent that the protagonist could not defeat.

And when the protagonist is defeated and in danger of losing his life, the development where another character appears to save him and sacrifice himself always leaves a strong shock and impression on the readers.

‘Here, Juro, who is like the protagonist’s teacher, appears.’

Among readers of Van Helsing, Juro was as popular a character as the main character.

He had many fans who liked him because he was impressed by the scene where he instantly killed the vampires that had initially killed the main character’s family with a flaming sword.

It was Rupert who thought it would be a good idea to use that character.

‘Just like Own who withstood Ada’s attacks, he blocks to protect the protagonist who is in danger.’

The protagonist, blinded by his desire for revenge that always makes readers frustrated, rushes in without caring about the opponent’s strength and ends up in danger.

A strong ally character who is defeated by an enemy that would normally be a tight fight in order to protect the protagonist.

Once the plot was drawn in my head, it was a breeze to translate it into a storyboard.

“If we make it so that the protagonist who lost his teacher grows up naturally.”

It’s good to have a perfect protagonist from the beginning, but what people can most easily and universally relate to is the story of a protagonist’s growth despite his shortcomings.

Because there are few scenes as predictable and yet as cool as the protagonist losing his master through his own mistake, becoming stronger and more determined, and then facing his enemy again and taking revenge.

Rupert, who was drawing cartoons without any hesitation, suddenly wanted to convey these clichés to Iolin.

‘The Princess’s work is definitely well made.’

Iolin’s work, “Puppet Show,” was, in Rupert’s opinion, the closest thing to a classic boy’s comic.

However, the only regret is that it uses multiple protagonists, which is something that even professional cartoonists would find difficult to attempt.

There is a possibility that the story of the three main characters that are currently appearing will explode with incredible potential starting in the middle, but the process of building up the story can be somewhat boring.

‘We need to quickly progress the main characters’ core story while cutting out what needs to be cut out.’

It was always burdensome for Rupert to give Iolin his honest critique, but seeing her work develop amazingly the more he gave her feedback, he couldn’t help but feel unable to hold back.
