by fnovelpia“I’ll be right back.”
“Weren’t you going straight to the Elves’ Forest?”
“I can’t go there right now.”
“?”
I gave a brief explanation.
The Elves’ Forest is surrounded by a mist imbued with various distortion abilities—spatial, directional, and even mental—making it an inaccessible area.
Over time, the mist dissipates, allowing entry,
but until then, the forest remains completely off-limits.
Hardcore fans of Prophecy RPG have tried every insane method to force their way in early,
but not a single person has ever entered the Elves’ Forest while the mist was still present.
That’s just how it is.
It’s best to wait patiently.
“You won’t have to wait long—just a few days. Just kill time doing whatever until then.”
“That’s it?”
“Yeah.”
“Nothing special to do in the meantime?”
“Nope.”
“What about you?”
“I’ve got a few errands to run in the city, so I’ll be out for just today.”
“What kind? Need help?”
“Nah. It’s something I want to do on my own.”
It’s not even something they could help with.
All I’m doing is writing letters and meeting people.
‘If I had to label it, it’s closer to fangirling.’
Exchanging letters with characters I loved in Prophecy RPG,
meeting them in person, having all sorts of conversations—
that’s what I truly enjoy.
My absolute favorite is Marianne,
and my second favorites are the heroines from the Hero’s Party,
but I also adore the side characters.
Just being able to talk, help out, and exchange gifts like this is amazing.
So,
for now, I want to go alone.
I want to experience the world of Prophecy RPG by myself.
Traveling and having fun with the beautiful main heroines is great, but—
the cheerful guy,
the kind old lady,
the gruff but warm-hearted craftsman uncle,
and so on.
I want to interact with the characters I loved in Prophecy RPG.
That’s why I’m going alone.
…or so I explained.
“What about guards?”
“I’ll be fine.”
If it were a dangerous area, I might’ve needed them,
but this is a safe zone.
‘Well, there are some punks around.’
But in terms of threat level, it’s just a bunch of D-rank weaklings.
I can handle them alone.
…or so I said, but—
“You’re D-rank too, though.”
Alice immediately countered.
But,
I can deflect that.
“My base stats are D-rank, but with my gear, I’m C-rank. I won’t lose.”
I’ve picked up all sorts of equipment while traveling with the Hero’s Party.
My gear alone is A-rank tier.
That’s why I can comfortably take on C-rank opponents now.
‘I can even manage against a B-rank if I have to.’
Beating a B-rank is impossible,
but I can endure their attacks long enough to set off a single firework.
Then, game over.
The Hero’s Party will swarm in and crush whoever tried to kill me.
So,
B-rank is still within my reach.
‘If an A-rank comes at me, I’m dead for real, though…’
But all the A-rank powerhouses are either acquaintances or pen pals of mine.
Just dropping the name “K” would make even an A-rank assassin who wanted me dead bow and shout, “Lord K!”
So,
the chance of anything happening in the city is practically 0%.
“What about demons?”
“The only demons active in human territory are Succubus Queen Bestia and Jet of the Sound Barrier. Wait, huh? Both of them are dead?”
“Heretics? Dark mages?”
“Those guys operate in rural areas or near demon territory. No chance of running into them here.”
“Then…”
“Seriously, it’s fine. You all just relax.”
As a hardcore Prophecy RPG fan, I can confidently declare:
the probability of an attack is 0%.
So,
no need to worry.
“I’ll be back.”
“Okay.”
And just like that, I left without a single guard.
Alice watched through the window as Cain left and said,
“He’s gone.”
“He’s gone.”
“Gone.”
“Then let’s officially introduce ourselves.”
Marianne transformed into her demon form and spoke.
“I’m Marianne. I heard you all already know about me, but… are you really okay with this?”
“It’s fine. The person Master risked his life to save couldn’t possibly be a bad person.”
“I’m okay with it too. We have a solid guarantee in the form of my husband.”
“I’m fine. If my only friend says he’ll protect her, I’ll help too.”
Lia, Sophia, and Lady Serene—unanimous approval.
“Uwaah… I’m a demon, but… so many people accept me…”
Marianne was so moved she even shed tears,
but then Lady Serene spoke.
“But let me make one thing clear.”
“Huh?…”
“I haven’t accepted you.”
“Huh???”
“I’ve accepted you as Cain’s future wife.”
“Cain’s… wife…”
“So listen carefully.”
Lady Serene spoke with weight.
“If you become Cain’s enemy, I’ll consider you my enemy too.”
“E-Enemy?!”
“I swear on the name of the Goddess of Light, Serene, that I will tear you apart. Treat Cain well. That’s all I have to say.”
“……?”
Marianne looked utterly confused.
“You swore on the name of the Goddess of Light, Serene?…”
“Yes.”
“That means…”
Marianne’s face turned pale as she shrieked,
“You’re the Goddess of Light, Lady Serene?!!!”
Marianne stumbled back in shock,
then turned to the others.
“I-Is it true?! The one dwelling in that dog plushie is really the Goddess?!”
“Yep. The real Lady Serene.”
“She is the Goddess of Light, Lady Serene.”
“She’s my mom.”
“……?”
“What?”
“Mom?…”
“Ah… Lia is Lady Serene’s daughter.”
“Daughter?…”
“She descended in human form, gave birth, and raised her herself.”
“Huuuh?!”
Marianne was hit with a second shockwave.
The Goddess of Light personally descending was already staggering,
but to learn she even had a biological daughter…
She knew this was an extraordinary Hero’s Party,
but she never imagined this.
But then…
‘What did they call Cain again?…’
Saint Sophia called him husband.
Hero Lia called him Master.
The Goddess of Light, Serene, called him her only friend.
‘……?’
What in the world does this mean?
So,
Cain is married to the Saint, is the Hero’s master, and is friends with the Goddess?
And that person likes me?
Why?
With all these beautiful, capable women throwing themselves at him,
why would he choose me?
No—
I’m grateful he likes me, but…
Thanks to Cain, I’ve been accepted by the Goddess of Light and can live among humans…
‘Why would he pick me over all these incredible people?’
It made no sense.
And it’s not just casual affection, either.
I’m his favorite.
He prioritizes being with me above all else.
Why?
With all these amazing women around, why am I number one?
‘Don’t tell me… he’s some kind of demon-fetishizing pervert?…’
She’d heard about it.
Human tastes were diverse,
and some had fetishes so bizarre even other humans couldn’t understand them.
But,
thinking again, that didn’t seem right.
‘If he had a demon fetish, he wouldn’t have made the Hero’s Party his wives…’
I’m the only demon wife.
Meaning,
he doesn’t have a thing for demons.
‘That must be it…’
If he liked demons, he wouldn’t have killed Succubus Queen Bestia like that.
Cain hates demons.
Then why?
Why am I the exception?
‘……!’
Now that she thought about it, there was one reason.
‘He said he saw the future, right?’
Something happened between him and my future self,
something that made him have to love me.
That’s why.
‘Waaah… A man who traveled back in time to save his doomed future lover… That’s so romantic…’
Her face suddenly burned hot.
Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!
At first, she’d been content just having a man accept her despite being a demon.
She’d even entertained the idea of falling in love with a younger man,
but she’d been prepared to settle for someone in their 50s.
She’d already let go of so much.
Just being human was enough.
Just someone who could genuinely love her, a demon.
That was her ideal,
and she’d vowed not to care about anything else if that condition was met.
But now—
‘Kyaaaa! He’s my ideal incarnate!!!’
He’s so handsome.
Just seeing him in videos was enough to make her swoon,
but in person, he was even more gorgeous—enough to make her nose bleed.
On top of that, he’s fit,
a human male in his prime—his 20s.
He’s capable,
and his charm is enough to make even these extraordinary women melt.
And finally, he’s a man acknowledged by the Goddess of Light herself.
That man truly loves me.
He traveled back in time to save my life and wants to marry me again because he loves me so much.
…The moment she thought that—
Drip.
She got so excited, she leaked.
“Cain… Hng…”
Her baby-making factory pounded, ready for production.
“Pee?”
“Not that. This means I’m so excited, my body’s ready for pregnancy.”
“You leak when you’re ready to get pregnant?”
“Yeah?”
“Hmm…”
Lia watched the damp Marianne and thought,
‘If you leak in front of Master, does that mean you get pregnant?’
