“What is this?”

Today is my music lesson day with Hamu. After the lesson, I handed Hamu a few sheets of music.

“Ah, I should show you this first.”

While Hamu was looking over the sheet music I had handed him, I turned on the arcade prototype that was in the middle of development.

    “Huh, oh?”

Hamu stares blankly at the character moving according to his commands as if he were experiencing culture shock.

“This is the ‘arcade machine’ I’m making.”

“Wow, that’s amazing! Did Ain make this?”

Hamu, who is now more comfortable with the title, stares absentmindedly at the arcade screen.

“Yes, the sheet music I just gave you is the music I created to put in here.”

In fact, I barely managed to transcribe the melody of a game music that was famous in the world into sheet music with my limited skills, so the level is crude.

“Hmm, it’s just a score with a melody and chords written on it… but like this… is this it…”

Hamu plays the music I gave him on the spot. I thought I had talent and my playing skills had improved considerably, but the performance that came out of his hands, a true minstrel, was so bad that I had to apologize to Hamu for it.

“Is it okay? As expected, Ain is talented.”

    “Ah… haha, thank you.”

I felt guilty, but I kept quiet because if I said, ‘That’s a copy of music from another world,’ they’d treat me like I was crazy.

“How do you put this in this… arcade machine?”

In response to Hamu’s question, I showed him a circuit board filled with tiny vision magic stones.

“I recorded a few simple things with the Recording Magic Stone and put them in.”

After showing the circuit board and I press the buttons continuously, the English knight inside the arcade also makes sounds like “Yay, yay, haat!” because he recorded my voice.

    “Wow!”

At the same time, the sound of a sword being swung was heard, and Hamu was surprised again.

“This is really amazing! It’s amazing that Ain, a first-year academy student, made this. I thought he was talented in music, but his level of vision engineering is also amazing?”

“Ahaha, this is just something I worked hard on, it’s not like I have any talent or anything.”

Actually, the vision engineering features have increased tremendously while making this, but let’s just pass over it quietly.

Hamu, who had received my request, made several “umm…” sounds and then took all the sheet music I had given him and a bundle of recording magic stones.

And a few days later, Hamu, with dark circles under his eyes, visited the Knight Sustained Mansion on a day that wasn’t a training day.

“Hamu, why are the areas under your eyes so dark?”

While I was discussing the storyline Hoyo had written with Hoyo and Bandi, Bam was surprised and asked Hamu.

“I got more into this than I thought…”

As he said that, Hamu put down on the table a bunch of recording magic stones that were originally blue but had turned red to signify that recording was finished, and a thick pile of sheet music that he had carefully reconstructed from the sheet music I had given him into proper sheet music.

“Wow, you really worked hard, Hamu. I didn’t know you would do this much.”

“I also found myself concentrating as I did it. Because all the melodies that Ain gave me were good.”

Hamu, who answered like that, activates one of the recording magic stones.

Soon, music begins to flow out, with so many instruments in harmony that it is hard to tell how many were used in the magnificent atmosphere. Among the scores I requested, the title music that will appear on the game’s main screen was transformed to a level much better than I had expected.

    “Wow, this is really good!”

The females clapped in surprise, and Hamu played more music contained in several recording stones.

“Thank you, Hamu. I’ll give you a generous price.”

    “I don’t know the price… Can I sleep for a bit…”

I gladly accepted his request, so Hamu crawled onto my bed and fell asleep with a thumping sound.

“The quality is beyond imagination. At this level, I think Hamu’s name can be included in the producer’s name.”

“Where do I put the creator’s name?”

To Hoyo’s question, I answered, ‘There is a way.’

The work of making the arcade machine was now in the stage of putting the background drawn by Bandi on the screen and composing the stage. There was still more to be done for the main character’s movements, but it wasn’t a very difficult task, and since I would talk to Elfin and Ion later, I was now concentrating on making the stage that the knight would travel through.

“Basically, you fight by moving to the right.”

“Yeah, I’ll try to make it simple for now. Later, when I gain some know-how, I’ll be able to make something more complicated.”

The belt scroll genre is one that came to mind first because it has a long history. I first created about 8 stages to match the story with Hoyo.

“In the end, you have to fight the dragon. That’s the arrangement.”

“But the dragon is huge. Can you fit it all on the screen?”

Night expresses doubt at Hoyo’s bold words. It is not difficult to draw a bandit, but it seems difficult to express it. ”

“Yongira… I thought about that too. It’s okay.”

    “Oh, is that okay?”

At my words, Hoyo was delighted and wrote something more in his notebook.

To be honest, the story that Hoyo was insecure about and the plot was more interesting than I thought. It’s still in the early stages of planning, where you have to add what needs to be added and cut what needs to be cut, but after reading it, it seems like it can be made somehow.

“How about a giant monster sealed under this huge ship? You go down the ship and fight it, and at the end, the monster’s seal is released and you have a ‘boss fight’.”

“Wow-ooh, I was just thinking of the bad guy leader, but that’s not so bad!”

While Hoyo is working on the story, Bandi works on the art, and Bam checks Hoyo’s story and Bandi’s drawings to see what needs to be improved and makes suggestions.

Meanwhile, I was busy testing out the ability for the character to pick up items, change weapons or shields, and use magic.

“I was supposed to look through some books, but I found something unexpected to do.”

“What, there are two weeks left, so after two weeks, won’t we be back to living like we used to?”

In response to my answer, Bam looks at the pile of books in the corner of the room.

“That’s true. In some ways, the fact that there are a lot of miscellaneous books to read is something to look forward to later.”

There are days when there is nothing to see even if you look every day, Bam laughs.

    “Phew, that’s not easy.”

I don’t know why, but I sighed as I watched a character change the sword he was holding into a rapier when he tried to change the small shield he was holding into a kite shield.

    “What’s wrong?”

“The circuit seems to be broken. I need to fix it.”

And so, a month passes by at the Knight Sustained Mansion.

    “What are all these?”

When the time came, Lulu, Ion, and Elfin came to visit me at the Anastasia Mansion, tilting their heads as they looked at the prototype of the arcade game we had created.

    “We made this with Ain!”

Hoyo proudly said this while showing an arcade machine that was made so that you could play up to Stage 2, although not all of the functions were built yet.

“Is this the arcade game that Ain was talking about last time?”

Ion looks around the arcade prototype with a bunch of vision machine boards with interest, while Elfin listens quietly to the music flowing out of the arcade machine.

“I don’t know, but the music is pretty good.”

“It was made by Ain and performed by Hamu.”

    “Ahem.”

Hoyo shows off his arcade game skills to the three people.

    “Wow.”

Ion and Elfin were very curious about the screen, but Lulu was busy examining the circuit boards that responded to the movement of levers and buttons rather than the screen. Lulu is quite knowledgeable about vision engineering as well as magic, so she seems to be able to understand it to some extent just by looking at it.

    “The Marquis Jude invested.”

“Yeah, so I didn’t think much about it at first, but I thought of a way to make money.”

I briefly explained to Elfin the system of inserting coins to use the arcade machine.

“What is the possibility of theft or crime?”

“First, I’m thinking about looking into places like casinos, stores, and cafes. They’re usually always crowded, so I won’t be able to do anything openly.”

    “Good idea.”

“Well, there’s no guarantee that this will succeed. It could fail… It wasn’t made to make money in the first place, it was made because I wanted to make it.”

As the saying goes, I was making it spontaneously without any thought until I saw the dazzling gambling machines in the casino and thought, ‘Can’t I make something like this?’

However, compared to making machines or games in the original world, the convenience of magic and vision engineering is overwhelmingly so much that even amateurs like me can produce decent results. I want to make it clear that I am not good at it…

“So, you plan on continuing to make it even after you get to our mansion?”

“Yeah. I need your help too.”

    “Help us?”

Ion and Elfin tilted their heads at my words, but Lulu smiled brightly.

“Don’t worry. If you look closely, it looks like you can reduce the circuitry used here by more than half if you optimize the circuitry well.”

    “As expected, Lulu.”

When I give Lulu a thumbs up, she seems happy and smiles, striking a confident pose.

“I want to ask Ion or Elfin for advice on the protagonist’s movements and fighting methods here. I don’t have much knowledge in those areas.”

“Well, Ain has solid fundamentals and is capable of fighting, but he hasn’t learned many techniques.”

“I’ll be happy to help you if you need it.”

So we had a quick lunch and boarded the Vision carriage with Bam, Bandi, and Hoyo seeing us off, and headed to Anastasia’s estate.
