Chapter Index

    “Okay- I fixed it all!”

The blonde girl wiped her forehead and smiled.

The bar table, which had been completely destroyed by her touch, was neatly restored to its original state.

At first glance, it looks like it doesn’t match the tool at all.

However, despite her long and thin appearance, her hand movements were very nimble.

“Don’t look at me too much…”

Misha covered her cheeks with both hands, as if she felt burdened by my blank stare.

And then he slowly shakes his head.

“Are you disappointed because he’s a ‘short-skinned boy’ and not a ‘manly man’ who wants to be protected?”

Misha, with her forehead shiny, lowered her head.

“What are you talking about, man…?”

My eyebrows flare at the sudden manly remark.

Then Misha pouts and takes out a newspaper with my academy lectures from her pocket.

Why isn’t that coming out of my pocket?

Did you carry it around on purpose to show me?

    “Interview with the bartender, Siho.”

Misha carefully reads the small phrase written in the newspaper.

In particular, she mumbled personal questions written in very small letters.

    “What is your ideal type…?”

    Oh, I remember.

There was this one entertainment reporter who asked suspiciously personal questions, not just about cocktails.

    “A dependable person.”

This is how I answered that question.

At first glance, it seems like an answer that brings to mind Anna and her love for each other.

And… the one person who always saved me in the past.

“You answered like this! That’s why I made such a sturdy suit…!”

Misha spoke loudly, clasping both hands together.

    Her blue eyes sparkle.

I made a calming gesture with both hands to somehow calm her down.

Then he calmly approached Misha and spoke to her.

“Misha, that’s just something I made up for the interview.”

He gently stroked the girl’s forehead.

“I don’t particularly like big people. I think they’re scary.”

    “Really…?”

At my honest words, the girl’s blonde hair sticks out like antennae.

He bowed his head towards her and smiled faintly.

“Yeah, I like the cute and small Misha better now.”

“So you don’t have to wear something so stuffy just to look good to me. You’re all covered in sweat.”

I gently wiped the child’s face with the dishtowel on the bar table.

Then Misha’s body froze as if he had been electrocuted by the suit.

    “Are you okay…?”

    “Yes…”

Perhaps because her face was already pale, the girl’s face quickly turned red.

I think I must have caught a heatstroke from riding in that stuffy suit for too long.

For her, I poured ice water into a glass.

But she’s still a young girl, so cocktails would be too much for her.

    “Thank you…”

Misha politely accepted the glass with both hands and drank it down cutely.

But because I drank too quickly, I ended up getting choked.

    “Drink slowly-.”

The child bowed his head, clutching the cold glass tightly.

She mumbles in a small voice.

    “Then, Siho…”

    “Yeah, Misha.”

I remembered that the child liked being called by his name, so I answered him as he said.

Then Misha put her hand around my waist and hugged me.

“If that interview is fake, what kind of person is your real ideal type?”

“Well, I haven’t really thought about it. Maybe it will happen someday.”

    I gave a vague answer.

There were a couple of people that came to mind, but I didn’t feel the need to answer in front of the child.

When I gave an ambiguous answer, Misha pressed her cheek to my chest.

As I was looking at that sight with pleasure, something suddenly came to mind.

By the way, didn’t that customer call Misha ‘Vice Manager’ earlier?

So Misha became the head of the research lab when she was only a teenager?

Even though it is an association, they are using minors as civil servants…

What kind of lab is this that makes this possible?

Since we’re on the subject now, I might as well ask.

    “Me, Misha.”

    “Yes-.”

“Can I come and take a look around the lab?”

    “Research Institute…?”

    The girl raised her head.

She brushed her hair back and looked serious.

It’s as if he’s contemplating whether or not he can show me his insides.

Soon Misha slowly nods her head as if she has made up her mind.

“Hmm… I think it would be possible if it were labs 1-2. Today is a day off from research.”

It’s easier to see than I thought.

Thanks to this, I feel relieved.

That means there’s no experiment too weird to hide.

The girl stood up from the chair.

And then I had to put on my muscle suit again, looking back and forth between myself and the suit.

    I nodded in response.

Then Misha smiled and headed to the lab naked.

As I approached the door cautiously, she placed her palm on the fingerprint reader.

Then the sound of the door opening was heard along with the words, ‘Hello, 03.’

Just the sound of something opening.

The door had already broken down when Misha ran out of the lab.

“Oh, right. The door is broken…”

She looked at the wide open door and covered her mouth with her fist.

Is it because of the habit of having to scan my fingerprint every time?

I found that sight cute and the corners of my mouth twitched.

    ◦Follow the %◦-.”

I followed Misha, who was running quickly, into the dark hallway.

    The whole world is black.

It’s like entering a long tunnel.

It was so dark that I turned on my phone’s LCD.

    “Uh… communication.”

“Yes, if you enter here, all radio waves and communications will be blocked.”

“Then, I have no idea what’s going on inside.”

    “That’s right.”

Misha smiles brightly on the screen of her cell phone.

Maybe it’s because she’s only receiving light in the darkness, but somehow her smile gives me goosebumps.

At the end of the long tunnel, a thick iron gate appears just like before.

This time, the door opened slowly as Misha’s fingerprint was recognized.

Soon, an exterior wall made of glass comes into view.

    And inside that glass…

    “People..?”

    There is a person.

A room decorated like a room with one person.

A man who looks to be in his 20s is sitting blankly on a chair.

    “Oh my god…”

When I saw the man’s appearance, I couldn’t help but feel scared.

Because his face was covered with… nameless jewels.

“Individual number, 72. The name at the time of discovery was Im Ju-ho.”

Misha speaks indifferently, carrying her luggage behind her back.

The man looks so used to that kind of behavior that he doesn’t seem to mind.

“Ability: Body Crystallization. You can make your entire body out of crystals.”

“Sometimes I take fingernails or toenails from that child and refine them into crystals.”

I stared at the crystal shining with rainbow colors like a prism.

The man has a dazed expression, as if he is under the influence of drugs.

“This guy is the safest class among the individuals. That’s why he was accepted into Lab 1.”

“It’s safe, so why did you lock it up…?”

I asked with the back of my hand covering my mouth.

Then Misha smiled faintly and looked up at me.

“Ah, he looks so calm, but he goes berserk as soon as he wakes up. He always sprays a small amount of nerve gas to maintain that state. ”

    “Runaway…?”

    The word ‘runaway’ bothers me.

Could it be that they’re drugging her like Anna and making her go crazy?

“Yes. As you can see, the crystals growing on its body are starting to affect its brain. That’s why it attacks anyone it sees.”

    “Ah…”

I look at the wiggling fingers of number 72.

Fortunately, it’s not like they forcibly injected drugs or anything.

“But how did you get that ability?”

“Well-. I don’t know about that. Maybe he wanted the jewel to come out of his body like a goose that lays golden eggs.”

Misha answered absentmindedly, tilting her head like a metronome.

It seems like they don’t care why people become like that.

“Okay, and the one behind Siho-nim is-.”

I turned my head to follow her hand.

At that moment, I was so surprised that I almost fell backwards.

It was because of the boy who was staring at me with both hands on the glass wall.

Sparks fly from his blue eyes.

“He’s an electric man. He’s usually a normal boy, but when he gets angry, he electrocutes everyone in the area.”

Misha tapped the glass wall where the boy’s fingerprints had touched it, fumbling around.

Like looking at fish in an aquarium.

“Thanks to this child’s power, the lab’s electricity costs have been greatly reduced.”

    “Misha, it looks dangerous…”

    I look at her worriedly.

    Then Misha shrugged his shoulders.

“Well, no matter how strong this guy is, he doesn’t have enough power to break through a glass wall. That’s why the risk level is ‘concern’.”

“That’s why I call him Eel-. Isn’t he cute?”

    “You think it’s cute…?”

“Yes-. Actually, that kid was a game addict, but he developed the ability because he wanted to keep playing games even without a cell phone battery. ”

Misha pretended to press the game buttons with her fingers.

Come to think of it, there are all kinds of game consoles strewn about in the boy’s room.

None of the machines were plugged in.

And yet, the power is still on and it’s just humming along.

There is something truly bizarre about the sight.

    “Haha… What a unique reason.”

The boy is looking at me like he’s going to kill me.

Was it because that gaze was scary?

I forced myself to turn my head and look at the next entrance.

“Oh, over there? That’s Lab 2. People with powers like me who have numbers live there.”

    “Number…?”

“Yes, in fact, we were also test subjects here, but we were successfully converted and were recognized as employees… haha.”

So does that mean Misha was also a test subject?

    Something feels pitiful.

    “Then, what is Misha’s ability…?”

    I asked cautiously.

Then Misha smiles faintly and looks up at me little by little.

    “Me?”

    It’s a meaningful expression.

Soon the girl opened her blue eyes thinly and approached me.

My body automatically tenses up at that strange smile.

Misha whispered softly in my ear.

    “It’s a secret.”

After saying that, the girl put her hand on her shoulder again.

And then he started walking ahead of me.

    Then suddenly it stopped.

Misha turns her head slightly and looks at me with her eyes half-closed.

“Here’s a hint – I’m actually a lot older than you think, Siho?”

    what.

Just now, I had a similar feeling to Rep. Park.

“Anyway, we don’t really want to leave this place because there are so many amenities.”

Misha smiled and opened the entrance to the lab.

And then he pointed to his lips with his finger.

“From here on out, you have to be quiet. There are some friends who are sensitive to noise.”

I nodded slowly and followed her cautiously.

But… suddenly, my whole body started to feel numb as if I had static electricity.

“Siho, why are you like that?”

    “Oh, no… I think it’s static electricity.”

But the electric current that was flowing throughout my body still did not subside.

I tried hard to cover myself up and barely managed to follow Misha.

Soon we found ourselves passing through a hallway with many doors, like in a hotel.

But each room has a number written in front.

It must have been around 09.

My left arm started to feel like crazy.

    “Ugh…”

I’m out of breath like crazy.

Eventually, I stopped walking and bowed.

“Oh my god, are you okay?”

The girl looks at me with a worried expression.

I stared at the number 09 with bloodshot eyes.

    “Misha, who’s over there..?”
