Chapter Index

There are times when I wonder if I’m popular.

Of course, even after a month since I entered school, no other nobles have gathered around me on their own. Be it the rumors going around about me, my expressionless face that I was acting like, or my somewhat fierce-looking skills that I actually showed.

Even his skills were not in the swordsmanship or magic favored by nobles, but rather in the use of firearms, so in reality, there was nothing that nobles of the same class would particularly like.

Even if ‘Sylvia Pengriffin’ is attractive enough based on her looks alone, if the rest of her settings are a barrier, no one will come to me.

But strangely enough, the number of people around me continued to increase one by one.

Alice? Well, I understand. We’ve been friends since childhood, and I’ve tried my best to build Alice’s confidence. The emperor, her father, did love his daughter, but he expressed it differently than an ordinary father, and her mother had already passed away a long time ago, so it wouldn’t be strange if we became close.

Claire was the same. I was the one who treated her kindly in that situation, and later helped her get out of that situation. It’s not strange that even though the time we were together was very short, it remains as a very, very strong memory in my life.

However, it is still difficult to understand why other people are gathering together.

If you look back at the past, Mia Crowfield was my enemy. If you look at it closely, Charlotte also had no good reason to think of me for ignoring her father.

Leo was a little scared of me, and Jake had no contact to begin with.

But I don’t know why everyone is gathered here.

Oh, is it because of Leo?

In the original, Leo was the main character, and in the game, almost all of the party members followed Leo wherever he went.

    “Why, why?”

As I stared at Leo, he asked in surprise.

    “Nothing.”

Well, I can’t say outright that it’s because of you just because it’s Leo’s fault. I don’t think he intended it to be like that.

When I turned around, I saw Lena Meyer with an expressionless face.

Clearly, the purpose of bringing him here was to test his skills.

Besides, I didn’t really want to check that out. She didn’t seem like a threat right now, and her feelings toward me seemed positive. If she really wanted to spy on me, she wouldn’t be sleeping in her room with her face buried in her doll.

The real purpose was to get to know Mia Crowfield and Garena Meyer’s true personality so that the concept wouldn’t collapse.

Strangely, rumors spread and all the students I used to talk to at school gathered in one place.

Even Leo and Claire joined us while we were carrying out a mission. We met by chance and just followed us.

“… … Originally, I wanted to carry out the request.”

Naturally, because Leo and Claire had been sweeping up all kinds of requests since morning, the remaining requests were only minor ones. Since it was almost impossible to verify the skills that were put forward in the name of such, I didn’t take on any requests separately.

Even if it’s not a request, beasts often appear on the road.

“It would be impossible to verify your skills with small requests.”

At my words, Lena Mayer nodded confidently, though her face was still expressionless.

I could feel the prickly gazes of those around me. It seemed like they were quite concerned that I was the one who called them out.

“Can you show me the weapon you are using?”

I know all the weapons of the main characters, but I don’t know Lena Mayer’s weapon. In fact, I can see it now.

The Londondaria region is modeled after the weather in London, so even in midsummer, there aren’t many days when the temperature goes over 30 degrees. Even in May, the weather is still a bit chilly. Even I took off the coat I had been carrying around on my shoulders, so to Lena Meyer, who used to live in a very cold area, it might feel like midsummer weather.

Even though he was wearing his uniform jacket properly, the pistols he was carrying on both sides were clearly visible.

Just as I had a revolver under my armpit, Lena Meyer had a pistol under each armpit.

Just by looking at its distinctive handle, I could probably guess what kind of weapon it was.

    “Okay.”

Lena immediately pulled out two pistols at my words.

At first glance, it looks like an automatic pistol used by Nazi Germany during World War II.

In fact, it was probably inspired by the real gun, the Luger P08, in terms of setting. In the work, it appears to be used by the autonomous army soldiers who appear briefly. However, none of the main characters use it.

And I was so jealous of Lena Meyer’s gun prices.

In fact, the Empire does have a standard automatic pistol. Its reliability is somewhat lower than that of a revolver, but it is easy to fire in rapid succession and, above all, it reloads quickly, so it seems like it would be useful… …

There’s a reason I still stick with the half-barreled revolver.

The Imperial service automatic pistol, the ‘Wechsler Automatic Pistol’, is inspired by the real-life ‘Webley Automatic Pistol’.

It looked like a short piece of wood with a handle attached to it and a metal straw inserted into the barrel of a gun.

When I first saw it, I wondered how much trouble modeling had to be to make a gun like that, but I was so surprised to find out that it was based on a gun that existed in reality.

Yes, the only reason I don’t use that gun is because it’s ugly.

On the other hand, the gun that Lena Meyer is holding looks very similar to the Luger pistol that the US military once wanted to take as trophies. To be honest, it is pretty. The only problem is that the bullets it uses are different from the international standard and are not compatible.

“If you fight with a gun in both hands, won’t your accuracy drop a bit?”

When I asked her that, Lena shook her head.

“I am training myself to be able to use it properly on a regular basis.”

If Lena was the ‘main’ character, it wouldn’t be strange for her to fight in such a unique way. Just as there are swordsmen who swing their swords and send out sword energy, there are also those who fight while holding a pistol in each hand and hit their enemies without any problems.

    “… … Okay.”

I had no choice but to nod.

    *

“There’s a pretty plausible target among the requests we were trying to solve. Wouldn’t that be fine?”

As I was wondering what kind of prey I should hunt to make a proper test, Claire said:

Seeing that you expressed your opinion first even though I didn’t say anything, I thought that you must have guessed to some extent that I was worried.

    “… … Is that so?”

And I decided not to just let Claire’s words pass.

    “Yeah, this is it… … .”

In response to my answer, Claire took out a piece of paper from her bosom.

On the piece of paper that looked like it had been torn from a notebook was written the name of the prey.

    “This is… … .”

    “Yeah. It’s an irregular monster.”

    Amorphous monster.

Most of the things roaming the streets are beasts. Of course, they are beasts by this world’s standards, but by Earth’s standards, they are no different from monsters. Like fire-breathing bears or wind-breathing wolves.

However, other than those beasts, there are also things that can be called ‘monsters’. Even by the standards of this world, those things are considered monsters and are classified separately from beasts.

    Amorphous monsters are slime-like things.

Some have long tentacles that attack as if whipping, while others mimic the appearance of other beasts.

What Claire showed me was something closer to the former. The only difference was that the tentacles weren’t whips, but were about the size of a golem’s fist, and instead of being a mushy shape with its body half-melted and stuck to the ground, it had both legs firmly planted on the ground.

Physical attacks are almost ineffective. It is annoying that you have to use magic attacks with a magician character or a swordsman skill that utilizes swordsmanship to properly deal damage. If you have properly developed your character, there won’t be a big problem.

The reason why I could easily recall it just from the description without a picture is because it was an enemy that appeared in the game as well.

    hmm…….

No matter what, it’s hard to deal with them with two guns—

    “I’ll try.”

—I was about to make that judgment, but Lena, who was reading the content next to me, replied that she would try it right away.

    “Are you okay?”

“Yes. We have also thoroughly prepared for such situations.”

    “… … Is that so?”

At Lena’s words, I thought for a moment and then said,

    “Okay.”

    He answered like that.
