Chapter Index

    Suk-Suk-

I quietly scribbled my hands on the paper. A luxurious ballpoint pen draws letters on white paper.

This is my favorite ballpoint pen. I fell into this world and most things were different from the previous world that I perceived as reality.

However, this ballpoint pen was a tool that I felt connected me to old memories that had become blurred with age.

    “Yunsia, please come in.”

    “Yes, four!”

In the previous world, it was a pen of a similar style to the Montblanc pen that my father had given me when I had just become a member of society and started my first job. To be precise, it was also a pen that my father inherited from a deceased acquaintance.

It was a fairly old pen, as it had been passed down several times. If you just look at the date of manufacture, I think it would be around the late 80s or early 90s.

Of course, this world is different from the previous world, so there is no company called Montblanc, but the shape was very similar to my father’s pen and the feeling of writing was also similar, so holding this pen made me feel warm in my heart.

And today, when I used this pen for the first time, the handwriting went astray.

This is because the handwriting I was writing was out of sync because I sighed a little.

    “What, did you cry?”

    “… yes. Sorry.”

I just can’t understand her. It still is. While Yoon Si-ah went to the bathroom in a corner of the principal’s office to fix her face for a moment, I sighed again as I looked at the crooked writing.

    “Sit down.”

When I saw her approaching hesitantly after washing her face at the sink in the bathroom, I pointed to the chair in front with my chin.

Come to think of it, the tail has already started to grow. The protruding tail seemed to be a little bothersome, so I couldn’t properly lean my back against the backrest.

She says she can polymorph, but since she can’t use magic, it will be quite uncomfortable until she gets used to it.

I also had quite a bit of trouble sleeping before I got used to lying in bed.

“Okay, have you been doing well since then?”

I asked her formally how she was doing. How have you been, are there any inconveniences, and is there anything else you want?

Of course, nothing was gained. We had a great time. There is nothing uncomfortable. I don’t want anything. That’s the only answer.

… Knowing that I wasn’t expecting that answer.

However, her eyes trembled little by little and became droopy, giving off a strong feeling of strain, as if she had run a marathon while carrying heavy equipment.

What on earth should I do with this child?

Actually, I had decided to say something quite harsh to her today. That’s how I set the date, but already there was a sound of something cracking and breaking.

There was a sudden cracking and crushing sound like a frozen river, so I could only frown slightly as I stared at the girl sitting in front of me.

    “… Sorry.”

    I heard her voice.

Because fall was in full swing, the autumn breeze was blowing into the principal’s office with the window open.

However, the coolness that seemed to pass by with a whiff of coolness now seemed to be going beyond coolness and turning into absolute cold.

Although the season was already over, I put down my pen with a loud thud at the unique peach scent that mingled with the cool breeze.

    “What do you mean?”

“I acted too presumptuously. Because I did that without even asking the professor’s intentions.”

    “You know.”

I deliberately opened my mouth coldly and bluntly. It wasn’t my will, but my voice was also tinged with the cold wind that stung my skin.

But I didn’t really intend to tackle it. Since I gave you luck first, we should talk about it.

“Now that I’ve said it, I’ll ask you. Why did you act like that when you knew you were sorry?”

    “… .”

“It may sound cold, but this is something you should know. Do you have any idea how awkward I am right now because of you?”

    “… .”

Her head slowly lowers and only the top of her head and horns face me. But I kept shooting strong.

“It was my arbitrariness to bring you, who could not have come here. I accepted you by contacting the organization directly and obtaining understanding from others. So to speak, I am like your guarantor.”

    “… .”

“But you always embarrass me with unexpected actions. Although it has been prevented from being disclosed externally, it is already public within the Academy and the organization is already aware of it. I even told you that you would do well, but if this happens, what is my position?”

    “… .”

“Of course, I am not only establishing my position. But you have to show me a bit of change so that I can continue to trust you with peace of mind. What should I do when it’s such an indefinite wait?”

As I spoke, I felt my entire body gradually losing strength and I gritted my teeth. I slowly turned my gaze from her and looked out the open window.

Because it was the weekend, the academy officials had disappeared and the students were wandering the streets among themselves.

Without realizing it, I was tapping my fingers lightly on the desk.

“… What is the reason you did that? I believe it wasn’t because the monk and the group shooting RPGs were bothered by the fact that they called me a devil.”

I felt her flinch greatly at those words and I almost secretly hit the desk hard. Even though he didn’t say anything, it was like an unspoken affirmation.

My head was pounding, so I bit my lip. Are you saying that he was not an idiot and that even a kindergartener would not be fooled, so he groaned to himself and did it for me?

As I forgot what to say and was just looking at the sky beyond the window, I heard a small voice from her.

“… Professor, what is your purpose? Am I going to conquer this world?”

    “Huh.”

It was so foreign. My eyes were still looking at the high, cloudless sky that is characteristic of autumn, but it felt very foreign.

It was an ordinary sky with daytime sunlight shining down, with nothing unusual about it, but it felt as if I had just woken up and looked at the sky in a trance-like state of mind.

She started to get scared because the conversation went so wrong.

“Trigram, it’s okay. Even if the professor rules this world. Well, I will still be by your side.”

“What kind of words are you saying without any value?”

“… I know. The identity of the professor.”

Suddenly she raises her head and looks this way. I also reflexively made eye contact with her.

A sad expression and a small smile. My eyes widened as I received that strange yet familiar gaze.

    You know his identity?

I was momentarily embarrassed and desperately tried to control my expression. When I thought about it again, it was because the words themselves didn’t make sense. How would she know me?

There would be no way for her to know that I am not actually from this world, but that I took on the body of a dragon and entered the world of this novel.

It must be a fantasy created by her delusional disorder. With that delusion, she probably believed it to be true.

Isn’t it possible to have a smooth conversation with her in the first place?

He had an expression of insignificance and disdain for her, so she smiled and nodded slightly, as if she wanted that kind of reaction.

“I won’t tell anyone. I have never revealed this to anyone until now.”

“That’s so rude. Are you aware that you are insulting me right now?”

“… I’ve met it before. I’m sorry for not telling you before. I thought the professor would hate me if I revealed that I met another demon… .”

    “… What?”

I ended up looking puzzled at the story that came out of her mouth.

I, “Elm Northmund, ” as I say again, am a stranger who entered this world.

And from the “outside”, it was transferred to this world with some knowledge of the whole story.

What a devil. There was no such story in the original work, nor have I ever heard of it. In the original, the only enemies of humanity are monsters. Don’t call them devils.

And what is this dwarf-looking woman with sprouted horns talking about? It must be a delusion, after all.

    Her words continue.

“It was quite a long time ago. I think it was around the time I graduated from middle school.”

    “… Continue.”

“It was a night full of anticipation of entering high school. The devil has appeared.”

    “… .”

“I will give you strength. With that, I was told to see the future and have a physical relationship with someone at any given moment.”

She suddenly got upset and bit her lip. I bit my lip so hard that it burst and a lot of blood came out.

I also bit my lip slightly.

Her words were still encrypted, like an unknown Enigma, but I was slowly realizing that the initial balance was being broken little by little.

“That’s how someone is born. They said that that child would weave the story of this world.”

    “… .”

Slowly, the chain of codes broke down.

Although it is not yet fully apparent, the encryption is gradually fading away.

If we continue to unravel like this, it will gradually become a sentence with a deeper meaning.

    And now.

I vaguely realized what it meant and was inwardly shocked.

    ‘Han Si-woo.’

The child she mentioned was so obvious that it made me scream in my heart.
