Chapter Index

“There isn’t much left of that once spacious mansion.”

Alain spoke as he looked at the new structure being built on one side of the mansion.

Alain couldn’t help but feel a sense of loss when he thought back to the time when the garden had been empty for a while, when the old family was still alive and well.

“I thought it would be better to build it bigger this time.”

Rupert was also watching the new building going up next to Alain.

Currently, the two single-story factories are being used as a book factory and a goods factory, respectively.

No matter how close they are, they are still far apart, so going back and forth felt like a hassle, so I decided to take this opportunity to gather them all in one place.

On the first floor is a factory that makes the heaviest books, and on the second floor is a factory that makes various goods.

Lastly, we decided to make the third floor into a space for producing ‘animation,’ a new business that we have recently started.

‘If I think about it again, this isn’t a bad thing, but rather a good opportunity.’

As Rupert looked at the newly built factory, he suddenly remembered the events that had taken place at the palace.

The Emperor was wondering what reward to give to Rupert, who refused the position of the Crown Prince’s chief chamberlain.

And then Eustace, who had been squinting slightly as if he was deeply contemplating something next to Rupert, opened his mouth.

‘Your Majesty, didn’t Sir Saint, who was the royal painter, retire some time ago?’

‘That’s right. I asked to resign, saying that I had something I wanted to do.’

‘He was also a professor in the art department at our academy, but he resigned, so the position is now vacant.’

‘Well… The Academy is the future of the Empire, so it must be a bit daunting to suddenly have a vacancy, Yustav.’

‘That’s right. So I would like to recommend Sir Rupert Somerset for that position.’

‘Hoo. I guess that’ll work out.’

Rupert was taken aback when Eustace and the Emperor proceeded with their conversation without even asking for his opinion.

Suddenly being given the position of art professor at the Imperial Academy made me anxious, as I had no intention of going there in the first place.

But even Rupert could not refuse the Emperor’s order twice.

The first reason was that he wanted to continue the family line, but he had no justification for refusing the professorship at the Imperial Academy.

The excuse is that he is still young and lacks the skills to fit the position.

The emperor acknowledged it and said it was okay, so using this as an excuse would be tantamount to saying that the emperor’s vision was wrong.

So, Rupert opened his eyes and became a professor at the Academy without being able to protest at all.

At 17 years old, he was the youngest professor at the Imperial Academy.

After leaving the royal court, he wanted to protest to Yustav who had recommended him without permission, but he had already become his boss at work.

Moreover, he did not have the courage to say anything to the great wizard of the empire who was treated with respect even by the emperor.

However, a word from Eustace gave hope to the depressed Rupert.

‘I heard that you’ve requested a research quote from the Magic Tower.’

    ‘How do you do that…?’

‘That’s what happened. Anyway, the professors at the Academy receive quite a generous amount of research grants. Enough to conduct the research you asked for an estimate for.’

Eustace left out the fact that he had investigated Rupert because of the discomfort he felt when he first met him, as it was a secret.

But Rupert was already fixated on more important words.

    ‘Research grant’

Rupert began to make estimates, reminded of the sweet words that reminded him of the royal subsidy he had used to set up his old goods factory.

The animation business that had previously been abandoned due to financial issues.

If he could cover the research and development expenses, which were the biggest obstacle, he could make up for the rest with his own and Yuren’s top investments.

After returning from the palace, Esteban and I discussed this for a while and the two decided to take this opportunity.

In the first place, the time taken up by the academy was not as long as I had thought. At most, I only had to teach one or two classes.

On the other hand, the benefits gained were not limited to one or two.

Wouldn’t the Academy be the best place to secure talent, which is the most important thing when starting an animation business, let alone research funding?

If the drawing skills are good, they are selected, and music, which is an essential element of animation, is also selected from there.

Since there is also an engineering department, we could have requested animation-related tools to be developed there.

It was like a pocket of Doraemon, so it looked like Nodaji rather than the Academy.

‘It’s not bad since I can commute to work.’

Unlike students who had to live in dormitories, professors could live wherever they wanted.

Those who found commuting to work inconvenient could be assigned to a dormitory, and those who did not could commute to work through the magic transmission circle created near the main gate of the academy.

Since he was going to go anyway, he decided to uproot the Academy and build a new factory, and the result was right before Rupert’s eyes.

After confirming that the construction was progressing well, Rupert returned to his studio and began finalizing the storyboard for volumes 7 and 8 of The Iron-Blooded Alchemist.

At the same time, the outline of the story for the new children’s book, , was also roughly drawn up.

This was easy to work on because I had already drawn it before.

    ‘It’s an academy… .’

I wanted to finish before entering the academy, but it was impossible due to time constraints.

Volumes 7 and 8 seem possible, but volumes 9 and 10 will probably have to be concluded at the Academy.

Now, there is only one month left until the entrance ceremony. I suddenly felt worried, thinking that I should work hard until then, even if it means pushing myself a little.

‘There was nothing special about the entrance ceremony episode.’

The original novel, ‘The Youngest Son of the Imperial Family’, was a romantic fantasy in some ways, and in other ways it failed to qualify as a romance novel.

The first part was a classic romance novel, with a light-hearted comedy as the male protagonist, the Third Prince, and the female protagonist, Amelia, began to become aware of each other.

After seeing the enemies attacking the academy, I began to doubt whether this was a romance novel or an academy story.

‘The original story’s development has already been twisted.’

Considering that the Abyssal Cult, which had already disappeared from the Empire, was originally an organization that attacked the Academy, I couldn’t just believe the original story’s development.

‘Ignisia, the Witch of Red Flames’

I remembered the person who changed the Little Mermaid’s hair from red to blue.

Ignisia, a witch with blood-red hair, was one of the villains who attacked the Academy.

The story is about a woman who goes to get a forbidden book of magic hidden in the academy, encounters the Third Prince who tries to stop her, and becomes interested in him and obsessed with him.

She is a troublesome villain heroine until the latter half of the story. She commits numerous crimes in the empire and is the main culprit in spreading the red-haired notoriety.

He was a person to watch out for, especially because he had such an extreme hatred for humans.

Even if the Third Prince, a swordsman, were to meet her, Rupert would be roasted to death.

‘We have no choice but to make sure that Eustace never leaves the Academy.’

In fact, the reason the original villains were able to attack the academy was largely because of the principal who had to vacate the academy for some unknown reason.

If Yustav had been at the Academy safely, he would have been fine unless a dragon showed up.

Rupert has been training with Mullers consistently since returning from a faint, but now he is only at the level of an average adult male.

There was no way to overcome the crisis with one’s own strength.

However, there were many parts that were unstable enough to just trust Yustav, so it was a frustrating situation where I couldn’t stop worrying and there was no solution.

    Boom!

While Ratchet was wondering when he came out, he came up to Rupert and barked lightly.

Rupert chuckled as he watched Rash barking as if to say, “What’s the matter?”

    “Are you really a puppy?”

    Boom!

At Rupert’s question, Ratch suddenly turned his head and seemed to avoid eye contact, but Rupert thought it was just his imagination and just stroked Ratch’s fur.

    ‘Should I really take Rashra?’

I thought he would make a solid guard dog, seeing as he had subdued a warlock the last time, but I soon gave up on that idea.

There were many evil guys that would appear in the future, and if I took Rash with me and he got hurt, Ada might cry for days.

    ***

“I like Snow White the best.”

Senna, who had started learning painting from Rupert, was now able to draw quite skillfully.

Of course, it was partly due to her outstanding talent, but it was also possible for her to develop because Rupert, who had systematically studied art in modern times, gave her tailored education.

Now, he could be of great help to Rupert in his work, but Rupert still prevented him from working for long periods of time.

In her spare time, she would either play with Ada or spend time drawing on her own.

The characters she drew most often were those from Snow White.

For Sena, was a meaningful work that allowed her to meet Krun, who is now her best friend.

Of all of Rupert’s works, this was my favorite, so I used to copy it.

“But the princess is prettier with long hair!”

While doing so, I drew it with little changes and also changed the story little by little.

The beautiful Snow White fell asleep after eating the poisoned apple.

It was so much fun to imagine how I would change that story.

Senna began to draw the storylines of her own ideas as she learned while helping Rupert with his work.

The sleeping princess setting was attractive, so we decided to leave it as is.

However, I thought it would be more fun to fall asleep under a witch’s curse rather than a poisoned apple.

“But still, when I wake up, I wake up to the prince’s kiss… .”

In addition, Sena continues to draw the storyboard while adding various imaginations.

But she didn’t know that there was a little boy secretly watching her.
