Chapter Index

Kylon gave me a warm hug.

He didn’t sexually harass me like before, nor did he sexually harass me by groping my body.

My body felt like it was melting as he just told me to calm down.

Maybe it’s a little bit of the peace I was hoping for. I also thought about it.

I don’t have to worry about what other people think, and I can feel secure in the fact that I can lean on my feelings for a moment and think that I am too weak.

Ah, being human means you don’t have to be so nervous.

You don’t have to feel anxious, like you’re always being chased.

You don’t have to worry about being abandoned at any moment.

Feeling that sense of stability for the first time, I unconsciously felt my lungs tremble from deep inside.

If you speak your voice now, it will be obvious that you are shaking. Even though I was so confident, I spoke to him cautiously.

    “… Go, thank you.”

    For understanding my situation.

Because he understands why I want to go home and doesn’t just say selfish things.

What would have happened to me if Kylon hadn’t come from the same place as me?

Wouldn’t it be like I’m just festering inside of myself without even being able to say where I want to go?

So, I felt fortunate that Kylon was Kylon.

    So I was grateful.

In his presence, in his voice, in his heart.

I thought maybe it was the first time I spoke honestly in my heart.

Kylon listened to me and soon stopped stroking my head and moaned.

“No. The only place you can lean on is me. There is no one who can understand you except me.”

    “Yes, that’s right… ”

I knew very well that the only person in this world who could understand me was Kylon.

There was a huge gap between this world and my world, just as if the word ‘computer’ was mentioned in this world and it was not understood.

I know, but these people don’t know. I don’t know, but these people know.

Although they felt a sense of separation because of that difference, the person who could eliminate that feeling of separation was Kylon.

So, I completely agreed with what he said and the corners of my mouth trembled.

    “I will listen carefully.”

I said that, thinking that this was the only way to be by Kylon’s side and not to disappoint him in the future, and when Kylon heard those words, he raised the corners of his mouth as if he was waiting for the answer.

Then he moved his left hand and started manipulating something.

    ‘Inventory’.

Unlike the abilities he gained as a warrior, it was one of the abilities he was able to obtain simply because he was the main character of the game.

The storage ability that seemed to utilize subspace was a convenient ability that made it possible to avoid having to carry a heavy bag.

Although I can’t see it right now, I was really envious of that ability.

He pulled out a knife out of the air and held it out to me.

“Yes. Well, I’ll trust you this time, so I’ll give it back to you. They say it’s a sacred dagger.”

This was the dagger that was taken from me a few days ago, no, just two days ago.

It was a self-defense weapon hidden in my thigh, but I didn’t expect Kylon to return it to me like this, so I looked at the dagger in his hand with a dumbfounded expression, and glanced up at his face.

When I looked up at him while he was in my arms, he suddenly blushed and purred.

“I’m sorry, but can you please stop looking up at me like that?”

    “… … ?”

I don’t know what’s wrong, but something feels off? I lowered my head again and looked at the dagger.

And then he slowly stretched out his hand and squeezed it.

As I picked it up and held it close to my chest, he explained why he gave it away.

“We are leaving tomorrow, so from now on, monsters will appear on the way. Even if you don’t die, it will hurt if you get hurt, so shouldn’t it at least hurt less?”

    “Uh, yes… ”

“Take this too. Even though it’s heavy to carry, you have to get used to it in the end to wield it.”

Perhaps because I was now obedient to him, Kylon was once again giving me the weapons he had taken from me.

He even gave me the Morning Star and smiled bitterly at me.

“What… You don’t have to give me a knife because I have a dagger, right?”

    “Yes, it’s okay.”

Even if there were that many blades, it was useless, so I nodded at that.

I was shocked as I was hugged and given various weapons, but I couldn’t hide my joy at the thought that I had regained the trust I had lost.

As I raised the corner of my mouth and moved my lips here and there, Kylon’s hand soon slipped down.

Naturally, my body separated from Kylon’s, and we were sitting side by side again.

Kailon looked at me for a moment and then opened his mouth.

    “… I will believe it.”

I didn’t know that those words contained so many emotions.

Do I really keep my word? There may be some doubts mixed in. But you’ll still do well. I will protect it well this time. There will be a desire to trust me again.

Although he was anxious, like entrusting a fish to a cat, I couldn’t dare guess that he wanted to trust me one last time when he said he would listen to me, so I just answered with gratitude.

    “Yes.”

After giving such a clear answer, Kailon held out his finger as if those words alone were not enough.

With a closed fist, only one finger, the little finger, is extended.

    “… What is this?”

“You don’t even know this? Promise.”

    “No, this is… ”

I knew very well that it seemed like a promise.

A promise made with the little finger.

But isn’t this something I only used for a short time when I was young?

Besides, I heard kids these days don’t even use it.

“You really look like an old man… How old are you?”

I looked at Kailon’s fingers with a disapproving expression and grumbled, and as soon as Kailon heard my age, he narrowed his eyebrows and urged me.

“Go back. If you don’t want to be picked on, quickly point the finger.”

Come to think of it, I thought it was a bit rude to ask a woman her age.

No, what is the weight? No, didn’t you gain weight carelessly?

I’m not sure, but I was just going to do it anyway, so I hurriedly held out my finger, thinking that I should follow Kylon’s rhythm.

    “Ah, ah. Okay.”

The two little fingers crossed, folded into a hook shape to keep them from falling, shook up and down twice, and then parted.

    “Okay, that’s enough.”

    “… … .”

I groaned because I had absolutely no idea how to react to the hand movements that brought back memories of the past.

Then, Kailon scratched his head and then made an annoyed expression, but opened his mouth and continued talking.

“Ah, yes, yes. How old are you?”

    “… twenty? Twenty-one?”

    “You don’t even know your age… ”

It was unfair to hear that.

There is no calendar in my room, and I have never celebrated a birthday.

Of course, I could see the calendar on my computer, but I didn’t know exactly what year I was born.

I couldn’t find anything to say even after seeing Kailon’s pitiful eyes, so I slumped my shoulders.

However, Kailon spoke calmly as if he had no intention of saying anything more to me.

“I’m twenty-two. From now on, call me sister.”

    “Hey… ”

“It’s true, ah, do you like oppa?”

Aren’t you kidding me because of my age? At that thought, I opened my eyes and glared at him, but he spoke slyly and corrected my title.

Sister or brother, it was not something I called myself, and it was an extremely awkward title.

It’s just a title used by women. I tried to retort, but I just held back and suppressed it.

If you stumble over these things one by one, it will be like completely skipping the pace.

“Well, anyway, you can call me Kylon, so it doesn’t matter… ”

Kailon, ignoring my concerns, changed the subject as if nothing had happened, and his words included plans for the next day.

“I gave you the Morning Star and the dagger, so you don’t have to blame me anymore? And it would have been better if I had lost my ability, but since I didn’t lose it, the trauma would still be the same, so just stick close to me.”

    “Yes.”

“Well, no matter how much you don’t die, you don’t want to get sick, so I will protect you as much as I can. Still, if you miss something, you have to cover it well with your weapon.”

    “Yes, yes.”

As I was nodding my head and answering Kylon’s words, Kylon gently lifted the Morning Star that had been handed to me and shook it lightly up and down.

“I think it will be heavy. Are you okay?”

I chose it because it was the lightest among the Morningstars there, but it seemed like Kylon was comparing me based on my strength rather than the Morningstar.

If you ask me if I’m okay, I’m not sure.

I felt like I couldn’t swing it properly.

What can I say? When using a weapon, it felt like the user was swinging the weapon rather than swinging it.

It really takes effort to use it properly.

You will also need to gain some muscle in your body.

    So I smiled cautiously.

    “I will try my best.”

Then, Kailon laughed bitterly at my words and got up from the bed.

    “Okay, then I’ll go now.”

    “Yes, sleep well.”

“I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep much today.”

Then, as if he was worried about today, he shrugged his shoulders and left the room.

With Kylon out and Flora not yet in, there were only two weapons next to me.

But in the meantime, I was enjoying the warmth that remained by my side.
