Chapter Index

“Jeff, have you ever bought anything online?”

    “Huh?”

Amy said as she sat on the floor and scribbled in her sketchbook.

I searched my memory at her words.

“They say the package was delivered to your address?”

    “Delivery?”

    “Yeah.”

I put down the crayon I was holding and got up from my seat.

Internet? Delivery? Sure, I had Amy’s credit card, but I never bought anything online with it.

    “Ouch!”

At that moment, I was able to recall the event [Little Witch’s Great Adventure] that I had participated in with Shine a few days ago.

“I applied for the event prize.”

    “Really?”

“Yes! Can you tell me what came?”

    “I don’t know because I didn’t check the contents?”

    “Ouch… !”

I walked around Amy, stomping my feet in my seat.

Since there were no other deliveries that could have come to me other than event entries, I was sure that I had won a prize.

“Just wait a minute. I said I’m bringing it now.”

Amy said, hugging me as I swayed back and forth with excitement.

I was kicking my legs, and only then did I release the strength in my body.

    “Yes.”

Sometime after lunchtime, just as Amy had said, I received a package in a small box.

The scary, big, fat man wearing a black suit and sunglasses handed me the package and quickly disappeared.

    Not one, but two.

It looks like Shine and I both won the entries.

    “Jeff. Who is that?”

    “I guess he’s Amy’s subordinate.”

Shine looked at the man in the black suit without saying anything.

He walked away quickly and soon disappeared from sight.

    “What is that?”

“I received it by participating in an event before.”

    “At that time?”

    “Yeah.”

I came into the room carrying a box.

Amy is once again out of the office to take over for Jin.

I put the box on the table and sat down in front of it.

    “What did you hear!”

I touched my cheeks, which were flushed with anticipation, and took out a small paper knife from the table and began to open the box.

The tape didn’t cut easily because the blade was dull, but this was the only knife that Shine and I could use.

It was an inevitable choice, as Amy had forbidden me from using even a normal cutter knife, saying it was too dangerous.

Cook cook – I was able to open the entire box with great effort by poking the box with the sharp part of my hand.

    “Oh… .”

The contents of the box were more substantial than I expected.

It contained an art book depicting the characters, their items, and the skills they use, a soundtrack CD, and an SD figure of the main character Lucy.

I carefully took out the figure and placed it on the table.

I am impressed by the high quality of the SD theme.

SD Lucy’s location was decided to be next to the dinosaur rock.

This looks like a second place prize.

It was a pity that it wasn’t a blanket, but it wasn’t a bad product either, so I thought it was okay.

I brought the second box forward.

    A box smaller than before.

Just looking at his appearance, I felt extremely uneasy.

It was so light that I didn’t even think it had a blanket on it.

    Tremors due to tension.

I was fidgeting with my fingers, so I used a paper knife to poke the belly of the box.

    “What is this…?”

What popped out of the box was a golden ticket.

The ticket, which had Lucy’s sparkling face printed on it, had the effect of Lucy’s expression changing depending on the direction from which it was viewed.

    “What is that?”

    “I don’t know.”

I waved the golden ticket in my hand.

A faint rustling sound could be heard.

    “There’s a letter below Jeff.”

Shine spoke to me while I was distracted by the golden ticket.

She took an envelope out of a small box that I had pushed aside and handed it to me.

The content of the letter was simple.

A magical letter supposedly sent by Lucy.

There was a sparkly Lucy sticker enclosed along with a note asking people to make sure to attend a special event with the ticket.

    “It’s not a blanket… ?”

    I muttered weakly.

The second prize wasn’t a bad one either, but what I really wanted was Lucy’s magical cloak blanket.

But I told him to give up.

I got down from my chair and went straight to the computer.

With my mouse in hand, I went to the event page featuring a large Lucy, just like a few days ago.

I scrolled down with my mouse and clicked on the special prize section in the product list.

Then a large golden ticket appears with a sparkling effect.

Below that was a description of the theme parks that could be entered with a golden ticket.

    “Wow!”

The Golden Ticket, which allowed up to four people to travel together, boasted tremendous power.

All facilities were free to use, and you could receive an art book signed by the voice actors and all event prizes except for the 1st and 2nd place prizes.

That meant I could get Lucy’s cloak blanket.

I was sitting on my computer chair, wiggling my butt, and then I jumped down.

    “Jeff?”

“I have to go! Hurry up! I have to go quickly!”

    “You’re going out?”

I was so excited that I started running around the room and stuffing things into my bag.

I also packed the sketchbook and the coffee mix that was on Baekshi’s back, just in case.

And Lucy’s hat and magic wand were also packed tightly.

“Do you have to go out?”

Then Shine came up behind me and asked.

“Yeah. I won an event. I think I should go out.”

“But Amy told me not to go out.”

    “Yeah. But that’s true.”

“And Jeff. It’s a scary place out there.”

    I nodded to Shine’s words.

It was a dangerous and scary place, as she said, but it was very important to me.

“But Shine. Wouldn’t it be okay if I asked Amy for permission?”

    “Jeff.”

    Shine looked at me silently.

But this time I couldn’t lose.

I strained my eyes and looked into Shine’s eyes.

“Shine wanted to see the house too.”

    “That’s true, but… .”

“Shine… . Let’s go see the house. And we’ll go to the theme park too.”

I clung to her arm, pleading.

Shine takes a step back, seemingly embarrassed.

I reached out and took her little hand.

“It’ll be okay if you go with Shine! Right?”

    “Um… .”

“It’s not scary when you’re with Shine!”

“Yeah. Right. Jeff should be with me.”

    “That’s why I’m saying let’s go together!”

Shine looked confused at my words coming out at a rapid pace.

I ran straight to the table and grabbed the golden ticket.

“If there are four of us, who would be good to go with?”

Amy, me and Shine were definitely fixed.

The remaining spot would obviously be taken by Rain or Victor, but Victor was under quarantine so we couldn’t take him.

I felt a little sorry for Victor, not being able to go to such a wonderful place.

“Amy and me and Shine and Rain!”

    The members have been decided.

I nodded and muttered to myself.

“Jeff. Amy hasn’t given permission yet.”

    “No!”

    “Jeff.”

    “I’m going!”

“Jeff. Are you sure you want to go?”

    “Yeah!”

Shine shut her mouth at my firm answer.

I made an uneasy expression at her expression, which seemed to be in a bad mood somewhere.

    “Why…?”

“Do you really have to go?”

I nodded weakly and answered in response to Shine’s calm voice.

    “Yeah… . It’s very important.”

I looked at Shine’s face silently.

Shine, who had been sitting silently, as if deep in thought, nodded after a long time.

“If Amy allows it, I’m fine with it.”

    “Really?”

    “Yeah.”

I immediately got up from my seat, ran to Shine, and hugged her.

She was sitting on the soft bed and rolling around on the blanket with me.

While I was spending time playing with dinosaur rocks and SD Lucy figures with Shine, Amy came back into the room.

    “Amy!”

When I saw Amy coming into the room, I immediately ran to her with the golden ticket in my hand.

She smiled as if she was used to my reaction and hugged me with both arms open.

    “Yeah, Jeff. You having fun?”

    “Yes!”

I held onto Amy’s neck with both hands and showed her the golden ticket in front of her eyes.

    “I won this!”

    “Win?”

“Yes. It’s a ticket to the theme park.”

    “Um… .”

Amy took the ticket from me and walked over to the computer desk.

She sat me down at the desk, then sat down in her chair and started checking the sites I had accessed.

    “Is it a special award?”

    “Yes!”

“Do I have to go there myself?”

    “Yes!”

    “But it’s dangerous outside… .”

Amy sank into her chair and began spinning around.

I looked at her pink hair with nervous eyes.

“Amy. I want to go out too.”

    “Until Shine?”

“Yeah. I want to see the house.”

    “Um… .”

The chair that had been slowly rotating stopped moving.

Amy was rubbing her chin as if she was deep in thought.

“Okay. I guess everyone was frustrated.”

    Permission fell from Amy’s lips.

I looked at her with bewildered eyes.

She, who always told me not to go outside because it was dangerous, gave permission so easily.

If I had known this would happen, I would have asked you sooner.

    “Great! Jeff.”

Shine came over to me as I sat at my desk and touched my feet.

As I tried to pull my foot away, wincing at the ticklish sensation, she hugged my leg with more force.

“Then Jeff. Up to 4 people can go. Who are you going with?”

Amy asked me as she moved her mouse to check the event page.

    I answered him confidently.

    “Amy! Me! Shine! Rain!”

It would not be an exaggeration to say that my human relationships were so narrow that I included the names of all the people I could call.

Is this right? I think there used to be a bit more.

I was making a subtle expression with an inexplicable sense of discomfort, and then I jumped under the desk as Shine grabbed my leg and pulled it.

    “Shouldn’t you ask Rain first?”

    “Is Rain busy?”

    “Isn’t that right?”

Amy took her cell phone out of her pocket and started calling someone.

As I looked up at Amy with eyes full of anticipation, she manipulated her phone to put it on speakerphone.

Then, the faint coloring of the other person spread throughout the room.

[Beep beep beep! Beep beep beep! Beep beep beep!]

    Subtle repetition of coloring.

The sound of a chick crying continues without a beginning or end.

    [Beep beep beep… Hello?]

As the sound of a chick’s cry was repeated several times, a familiar voice was heard.

    It was rain.
