Chapter Index

Helena returned to her bedroom after completing all her tasks in the morning.

Originally, the family’s work never seemed to end even if she worked all day, but after Lily took over as the head and eliminated the hostile Wesley family after Amelia’s bomb terror, and subdued the radical factions, the workload decreased significantly.

Now, the only thing happening within the family was incidents occurring.

If she only handled family matters, she wouldn’t even need to go to work, but the problem was the peculiar flow between countries.

Although everyone claimed to maintain peace on the surface, they all knew. This peace wouldn’t last long.

Periodically gathering at each country’s academies for exchanges and emphasizing peace, but it was just a facade. A time bomb waiting to explode at any moment.

“The most dangerous thing is Hyra… There might be a war within the next 3 years.”

Helena scratched her head, pondering the situation.

Hyra, the country located on the far left of the continent, had rapidly grown with abundant resources and had the largest territory of any country.

However, according to Helena’s information, those abundant resources were running out.

The resources that were considered abundant for hundreds of years had become a ticking time bomb, with no one knowing when they would run out.

“Foolish people. They mindlessly expanded their territory without even realizing such things.”

She didn’t know whose miscalculation it was, but Hyra initially expanded its territory, exerting pressure on other countries with that power.

“But, due to that massive body, resources quickly dwindled.”

Helena didn’t expect Hyra’s resources to run out. Honestly, seeing them being used so extravagantly, she thought they were infinite.

But now they were running out.

If time continued to pass as it was, Hyra’s financial situation would deteriorate rapidly.

Currently, Hyra earned most of its money through exports. Especially, rare ores like mithril that yielded high enchantment were Hyra’s main source of income.

If those resources ran out, the amount that could be extracted would naturally decrease.

Prices would undoubtedly rise. However, if prices continued to rise, there would be no reason to buy mithril from Hyra.

It’s not that mithril doesn’t exist in other countries. It’s just that it doesn’t come out as abundantly as in Hyra, making it cheaper to buy from Hyra.

If Hyra’s exports decreased and the money earned decreased, what would happen?

Ultimately, due to the inflated body without thinking, maintenance costs would be exorbitant.

“Originally, it would have been nice if this peaceful daily life continued…”

Helena sighed as she picked up Amelia’s maid outfit next to her bed.

The maid outfit that Amelia wore last time after Helena scolded her. Helena held the outfit to her face, calming her mind with a deep inhale.

As she deeply breathed in Amelia’s scent, her hand slowly moved down.

    -Knock, knock.

Someone knocked on the bedroom door.

Although she had clearly instructed not to let anyone in today, Helena felt a slight annoyance at the knocking sound, but quickly composed herself as she opened the door for the servant who didn’t take her words lightly.

    “What’s the matter?”

“Helena, a student from Levank Academy is here.”

    “Excuse me?”

Helena was momentarily taken aback by the servant’s words.

    “Levank Academy?”

    -Yes, that’s correct.

“Just a moment. I’ll be right out. Please guide the student to the reception room.”

    -Understood.

As Helena quickly prepared herself, she thought to herself.

Levank. A country known for possessing holy maidens. On the surface, it was a nation that valued justice and emphasized peace. The academies had even proposed to initiate exchanges between them in Levank first.

Among the five nations that emphasized peace and justice, Helena knew that Levank was far from what it appeared to be.

The innocent holy maiden seemed unaware, but Levank was quite corrupt.

Under the guise of justice, they killed innocent people. For simply getting in their way. For opposing their will.

Furthermore, just the thought of the orphanages operated in Levank made Helena sick to her stomach.

So why would a student from Levank Academy come to the Estelle family, of all places?

It seemed like she was alone.

Was it because of inter-country issues? Even if that were the case, why come to our family?

The Estelle family wasn’t the most influential, and why would a student come here in the first place?

Helena shook her head as she walked towards the reception room.

    -Kiik.

Upon entering the reception room, a fair-haired girl was sipping tea.

When the girl, Emily, confirmed Helena’s presence, she stood up and bowed her head.

“Hello. I’m Emily from Levank Academy.”

‘What’s this? I’ve never seen this child before. Does she harbor a deep enmity towards me? Enough to want to kill me.’

Emily showed no emotion, and anyone would have thought it was a perfect and neat greeting, but Helena knew who she was.

Since Lily was absent, Helena had been the one to face all the gods alone in the Estelle family and was currently one of the top magicians.

Helena immediately sensed the animosity Emily held towards her and understood how strong that animosity was.

That’s why she was puzzled. No matter how much she had done wrong in the past, she had never harmed anyone from another country. And yet, the girl in front of her seemed to want to kill her.

‘I guess I should greet her first?’

“Nice to meet you, Emily. I’m Helena, the Chancellor, or rather, the Prime Minister of the Estelle family.”

    “Excuse me?”

“Why are you acting like that, Emily?”

“Just a moment. Prime Minister? Not the head of the family?”

“The head of the family? What are you talking about? The current head of the Estelle family is Lily.”

    “No, um, I mean, Lily?”

“Emily, even if you’re a student from another country’s academy, I won’t forgive any more rudeness. You don’t have the right to call the head of the Estelle family by that name, do you?”

    “Well, I…”

    *Sigh*

As Emily was completely flustered, holding her head in her hands, Helena sighed and waited for her to regain her composure while sipping her tea.

“I’m sorry. Then, there’s a blonde maid here, right? She must have been here for about 2 years, tall with a large chest, and extremely beautiful…”

After quickly apologizing, Emily began to describe the maid she was looking for, but Helena immediately understood who she was talking about.

    ‘Amelia?’

No matter how she thought about it, the maid Emily was describing was clearly Amelia.

But there was something strange. Why did Emily, who lived in Levank, know Amelia?

And how did she know all the details about Amelia but not know when she arrived at this family?

Amelia had been Lily’s maid for 4 years now. So it had been 4 years, not 2 years since she arrived here.

Helena couldn’t help but feel suspicious about Emily.

First, Helena decided that she needed to inform Lily and Amelia about this matter. For now, she tried to hide Amelia from this suspicious person.

“I don’t know who you’re looking for, but there’s no such maid here,” Helena said firmly.

    “Lies!”

    -Boom!

Emily stood up, hitting the table strongly.

“… You. I won’t say anything more. Please leave right now,” Emily said, looking at Helena with eyes full of determination, then left the reception room and immediately left the mansion.

    Helena chuckled at Emily’s actions.

She didn’t know why Emily was looking for Amelia, but it seemed like she was about to make things difficult for Amelia. Furthermore, she was curious about where that animosity and determination towards herself were coming from.

    Helena immediately contacted Lily.

    “Lily.”

    -What’s wrong, Helena?-

    “Do you know Emily?”

-… How do you know Emily?-

“She just came looking for me.”

    -What…?-

“She just left after talking to me. She’s looking for Amelia.”

-That’s impossible. Especially at a time like this.-

    “Lily?”

-Is it really… happening like that…? Thank you, Helena.-

    “Lily?”

    -Click.-

“Lily? Come on, really! Even if you’re going to be the parents of the future, you’re too unpredictable!?”
