Chapter Index

    “Wow… what is all that….”

The things that filled my vision were green-skinned monsters. There were some big ones and some small ones, but I think they could be collectively described as green monsters. Anyway, the bigger one will be an Orc and the smaller one will be a Goblin.

“Fortunately, there seems to be no damage yet.”

At Luv’s words, I looked down at the forest toward the trees. Although it was not discernible at all with the naked eye, the faint magical power was clearly felt. Probably elves. Apparently there was no damage yet, but the two forces were on the verge of clashing. No, the difference in numbers between the two forces may be too severe to be called two forces.

    “Ah, it’s Arzen…!”

    “You came!”

    “I lived….”

The elves felt relieved as they faced Rube’s true body. On the contrary, the orcs and goblins stopped advancing and froze in place. Not only that, but most of the goblins fainted.

“Let’s put out the urgent fire first.”

Mana was concentrated in Rube’s mouth as he turned his head toward the plain where the monster army was. I could now feel the mana that I had not even properly recognized at the time of the meteorite’s destruction. When I felt it again, I realized her power.

    Grrr!

A huge baptism of flame poured out from Rube’s mouth. It was a fire on a much larger scale than when Arjen burned down the village before. A single ray of flame, as if erasing the orc and goblin army with an eraser, reduced them to ashes without even leaving a bone behind.

Normally, it would have been a situation that would have made me laugh, but this time, instead of laughter, curses came out.

    “Crazy….”

I was impressed in two ways. I was surprised once by the power of the flames that Rube shot out of his mouth, and twice by the sheer number of them, with no end in sight despite such enormous flames sweeping past them.

What on earth do I have to do in one year to make it increase like that? No, even putting that aside, I don’t know where on earth that number of people were hiding and have now appeared. Before I came here, I knew that it would far exceed my expectations, but no matter how much I thought about it, it was too much.

“Isn’t that too many? Physically, does it make sense for that amount of quantity to be hidden away as if dead?”

“Those are all kids who came over from the plateau beyond the mountain range. Because the altitude is so high, humans can’t survive, so it’s completely their world.”

It was also amazing that an environment was created in the plateau where that number of people could make a living. Of course, those guys probably crawled out because they couldn’t stay in the plateau any longer.

“So… this kind of commotion happens every year? In that case, wouldn’t it be better to go directly to the plateau and properly control the population?”

It was a thought that would naturally come to mind when looking at that crowded volume. Of course, Rube can think of that too. Nevertheless, there were good reasons for not taking action.

“I would like to do that too, but there is one living on the plateau.”

“…Are you sure you mean a dragon?”

“Yes. So, if I go, it will be an invasion of territory and there is nothing I can do about it. That guy has to do it himself.”

“No, doesn’t it bother him to have things like that crowding around his rare?”

I couldn’t understand at all. Well, I don’t know the speed of Hangil people, but I have no way of knowing what the dragon is thinking.

    “Ah, it came out.”

As soon as Rube spoke, something suddenly flew towards me. It was so fast that it was only after hitting Rube’s scales that I could tell its identity: it was a spear. Someone had targeted Rube with a javelin.

    “Lube! Are you okay!?”

Because the attack came so suddenly, I was reflexively worried about her, but as soon as I realized who Rube was, my anxiety quickly subsided. However, it did not completely disappear, because it was said that there was someone who attempted to attack her anyway.

    “Who on earth…!?”

“It’s a pain in the ass to have people like that mixed in here and there. Really.”

The spear, which had fallen helplessly without even making a scratch on Rube’s scales, regained its angle and rose into the air. However, this time the direction of the spear tip was opposite. Rube manipulated the spear with magic.

The spear flew at a speed that was incomparable to when it flew and hit one of the orc groups directly. The spear imbued with Rube’s magic reached the target and exploded as if it had been loaded with explosives.

“High Oak. In terms of elves, they are high elves. In terms of humans, he’s a warrior… but not a hero?”

As soon as she finished speaking, various throwing weapons started pouring in from here and there. Rube moved his body with an annoyed look and avoided the attack.

Considering the javelin attack just now, there was no reason for Rube to avoid the attack. Still, the reason I avoid it is probably because I’m worried about myself. I didn’t know what would happen if a blind attack were to hit me by chance.

There may be no need to worry because there is a necklace given by Arjen, but considering that it is thrown towards the sky at a speed that the eye cannot follow, those attacks have extremely powerful power that cannot be underestimated by the name value of ‘Orc’. There will be.

    “Uh…?”

Adding to that, the orcs who had been frozen upon seeing Rube’s true body began to move. The High Orcs who had settled down here and there began to lead. As if the Orcs did not value their lives, a small number of them began to attack Luv with the High Orcs, while the majority of the rest ignored Luv and advanced into the forest where the Elves were.

“Eugene. Call on the spirits and ask them to create a vacuum around you. I want to do it, but I think I need to concentrate.”

It was a very unexpected request, but I followed her words. This is because the situation was not leisurely enough to ask the reason.

    “Yay!”

Sirocco appeared with cheers, and as soon as he received my will, he made the surrounding air retreat as I wanted. Suddenly I couldn’t breathe, so I took a deep breath and held my breath.

As soon as I confirmed that I was following the instructions, Luv’s powerful magical power suddenly dispersed in all directions. The scene that happened after that was truly spectacular. Most of the orcs fell on the spot, regardless of whether they were attacking Rube or those who were advancing into the forest.

The problem was that most of the people in the forest had disappeared, perhaps because they simply did not select the target. Judging from the instructions given to me, it seemed like an area-wide attack was made using ‘sound’. This is because sound cannot be transmitted in a vacuum.

    “It’s enough now.”

Of course, non-voice verbs can pierce the vacuum, so Rube’s words were heard properly. As Sirocco relaxed, he felt the wind on his skin again.

“There are kids still standing. Are they all high oak…?”

Clearly, since most of the orcs and goblins had fallen, the presence of high orcs was noticeable. Seeing that it was much larger than a typical orc and had an eccentric face, it looked closer to an ogre than an orc.

“Fear is all good, but the problem is that you have to deal with it separately.”

Rube grunted loudly. They said that both the entities that were holding on to the pier and the ones that fell were just fainted but not dead, so in the end, they had to use separate measures.

You might be thinking what’s the problem with that, but even if it’s a dragon, it’s a living thing, so it’s natural for it to get tired if it uses its power for a long time. Arjen looked very tired when he destroyed the meteorite, but considering the number of green monsters he could see right now, I didn’t think it would be any easier.

She referred to this as ‘pruning.’ Landscaping work that involves pruning branches to prevent trees from growing further. So in the end, this work is labor for her as well.

“So, Eugene. Can you help me?”

It was at this time that I finally understood why Luv had brought me in, saying it was a good fit. It would be better to have a blank sheet of paper. It was said that if two people do a task that needs to be done alone, it can be completed much more efficiently and quickly.

    “Sirocco, are you okay?”

I was worried that he might have taken a test during lunch time today and wasted nothing, but Sirocco’s answer was very lively.

    “Yes! I’m fine!”

As if it wasn’t a lie, an unusual wind began to blow around. Rube smiled in satisfaction at the answer.

“Good. Let’s finish it quickly and go back and laze around.”

The meaning of the word rolling around was not ‘rolling around carefree’, but it had the full meaning of ‘let’s play together on the bed’. I, too, must have activated my survival instinct due to the physical threat, and my lower abdomen tightened to such an extent that I couldn’t believe that Kaela had squeezed me to the point of being turned into a mummy.

And that energy immediately turned into a natural disaster for the orcs and goblins. As Rube’s magic was added to the tirelessly rampaging Sirocco, the monster army that seemed like it would never disappear was completely wiped out before the sun set.

There was a thought that came to my mind as a result of what I experienced today. If spirits were truly beings born with will in natural phenomena, Sirocco had the nagging thought that a hurricane might have become a spirit.
