Zombies, zombies galore, were filling the roads.

..Why are there so many..? What? Suwon City’s population is 1.2 million?

Ah.. then this might be a little bit too much..

As I was moving through the crowd of zombies, one of them suddenly stopped and turned its head.

    Directly towards us.

    ” Kaaahh …

One zombie screamed, and then one by one, the other zombies looked in this direction and screamed as well.

So two becomes four, four becomes twelve, twelve becomes seventy-eight, seventy-eight… Wow, they’re really dirty and ugly.

Those dirty, ugly faces started running towards me as if they saw something delicious.

” Sergeant! Step on me!! ”

The armored vehicle began to pick up speed. There weren’t many cars on the road, so if you dodged here and there, you could easily get away.

” Where should I go?! Should I just keep going straight?! ”

” Hey! Navi! Where should I go?! ”

” Go straight! Go straight!! Keep going straight!! ”

As I passed the three-way and four-way intersections, there were numerous zombies on one side of the road.

Those zombies also heard the commotion and started to join the pursuit.

The numbers behind them alone are in the hundreds. How on earth do we separate these people?

As I passed the intersection and the apartment complex, zombies poured out from inside as well.

Things are getting bigger and bigger.

As they raced down the street at full speed, the sergeant shouted in an urgent voice.

” Oil! Oil is running out! We need to stop somewhere!! ”

” What did you say?! ”

Why on earth would I do this! Damn it, what should I do?! If we stop here, my party will surely become food for the zombies!

    ” Navi! Isn’t there a good place? A place where zombies can’t come!! ”

” That’s it! That, that! Ah! There it is! There’s a lake nearby! There’s an island in the middle of the lake!! Just go straight! When you enter the apartment complex and exit, turn left and go straight! The entrance is there! ”

As expected, it’s Navi! Its performance is guaranteed! This armored vehicle is amphibious and has a high height, so there should be no problem.

We followed Navi’s instructions and entered the apartment complex.

The apartment complex was bigger than I imagined. The number on the wall of the apartment I saw as soon as I entered was 158.

Are you saying there are 58 apartments? It looks like it has 20 floors.

The more apartments there are, the more zombies there are.

A lot of zombies are popping out here and there. They are starting to block our way.

You can ignore it and pass by, but it increases the burden on the armored vehicle.

I grabbed the turret, Seohee grabbed the K4, and Jaha grabbed the K16, and we started to sweep away the zombies coming around the armored vehicle.

I told my men to conserve ammunition as much as possible. Machine guns take too long to reload.

It would be really annoying if you were to get stuck on an armored vehicle while loading and end up in the hatch above.

Exit the apartment complex, turn left and race towards the park entrance.

I didn’t follow the speed limit from the beginning. There weren’t many cars around the park. I was lucky.

Drive the armored vehicle as fast as possible into the park entrance.

As we passed through the trees, a wide square appeared.

Zombies were pouring out from every direction except the one we were going. It was really terrifying.

As we went further, a sign saying “No Fishing Zone” greeted us, but we couldn’t avoid it.

It crashed into the sign and railing and flew towards the lake.

It sank somewhat due to the impact of the fall and then resurfaced.

It was floating on the water right now. The armored vehicle must be quite heavy, so how is it floating? It’s amazing.

We were heading towards the island, but we were going incredibly slow. When I asked the sergeant, he said that 10 km/h is the limit on the water. Well, it’s better than rowing, I guess.

When I looked back, the zombies had jumped into the water and were continuing to chase me.

They’re really fucking persistent. The good thing is though, they don’t move very well.

Perhaps because his reason had disappeared and only his instincts remained, he was unable to swim and was instead just walking.

Because of the resistance of the water, I couldn’t run, and I would sink with every step I took, so it would be hard to chase after them…? Huh?

    Yes, I overlooked one fact.

There are probably at least 3,000 zombies chasing us right now.

The average depth I saw on the sign earlier was 1.8m, and if the distance from the sign to the island is 200m…

Yeah, we get there eventually. Because they were piling up on top of the zombies that were stuck in the water, making a path… It’s creepy. Did we look that good? A moving lunch box?

We arrived at the island. It was called an island, but the ground was covered with more tree roots than dirt.

The sergeant picked up the fuel can and started filling it up.

Looking at the zombies, they were already more than halfway done with their biological legs.

They will arrive at the island by the time the fuel tank runs out.

It’s a bit far to shoot the K1 and I’m not confident enough to use the K14.

I aimed the turret at the zombies just in case.

But contrary to expectations, the problem arose from a completely different source.

” Over there! In front of me! ”

Jaha shouted and pointed toward the front of the armored vehicle.

Far out on the land, there were 3m tall zombies and countless other zombies that I had seen before.

The zombie was pointing here and there, and the zombies were moving in response.

It was moving around the lake as if it was trying to kill us.

But it will be of no use.

There’s a river to the west of here, so you can just cross it.

When I asked Navi where I could go by taking that river, he said I could get to near the shelter.

    If you’re near the shelter… that’s a problem.

You have to shake off the zombies to get to the shelter. If you carry this, it will be a nuisance to that family.

    Hmm… Is there no way?

Yeah, first I have to kill that zombie that’s commanding. Because of that guy, the zombies are moving systematically.

Because of that, the zombies behind them stopped their suicide mission.

When it comes to killing enemies from afar, there is no other option but the K14 sniper rifle.

Well, now that I have some free time, I’ll leave it to the sergeant. I think he finished refueling a while ago.

” Sergeant, can you shoot and kill that skinny 3m tall zombie? ”

” Yes, it is quite possible. ”

The zombie was giving orders with his back to the tree.

Maybe he’s doing that because he’s conscious of the sniper rifle… Let’s trust in the sergeant’s skills.

While the sergeant was dealing with that, I moved aside.

If you kill that zombie, all the zombies will come running back.

The plan was to hold out until all the zombies entered the lake, but there was a good chance that the zombie bridge would be completed before then.

I laid mines in a straight line from where the zombie bridge was supposed to be completed to where we were. Everything I had.

This will give us some perspective. Let’s hold out as long as we can.

    Taaang!!

As I return to the armored vehicle, the familiar sound of gunfire assaults my ears. Was it a success?

    ” Sniping, successful! ”

Looking through the telescope, I saw that the head of a 3m zombie was pierced. It must have been quite a distance, covered, and affected by the wind, but he was able to deal with it so cleanly. As expected, he is very skilled.

    “””””””””””!!!!!!!!!!!!Keeek!!!!!!!!!!!!””””””””””

As soon as the 3m zombie’s control was released, all zombies in all directions started to rush at once.

Because it was not running efficiently due to lack of intelligence, it was just coming at me blindly, so it was crashing into the water.

The process continued as before, with several new zombie legs being created.

The first zombie bridge has been reinforced and is almost finished.

Not all the zombies have entered the water yet. The number is greater than you can imagine.

    “”” Kieeeek!!! “””

When I looked back, the bridge had already been completed. Zombies were coming through that bridge.

    Click, crap!!!

The mine is doing its job. Kwakwakwang!!!

But I don’t think I can hold out for long. I think I’ll have to leave the island.

” Sergeant, let’s get out of here. And before we go to the river, let’s do a couple of laps. We have to drag all the zombies into the water. ”

” By the way, I’ve been wondering this for a while now, but why are you dragging the zombies into the water? ”

” Since they don’t have intelligence, they won’t move by predicting our path when they chase us. They’ll just blindly look behind us and chase us. We’ll use that. They’ll be slow in the water, right? It’s okay if the corpses pile up and create land. That way, the number of zombies will decrease. We have to make the most of this lake. We can’t keep carrying that thing around. ”

If we had enough firepower and ammunition, we could have just pushed them away, but… that’s not possible. We have to conserve as much as possible.

You never know what might happen in the future.

The armored vehicle moves forward and positions itself midway between the island and the mainland, like the Goldilocks zone of the solar system.

Then we will go to the right, circle the lake twice and exit into the river.

It’ll be something like this. It’s easy to explain because there’s a map in the Navi pocket.

I don’t need to say anything, but those red things are zombies. There are so many of them, right?

Move to your respective positions and kill the zombies that approach the armored vehicle.

I was especially nervous when I had to step on the zombies’ legs and run over them.

Seriously, I need to do something about that leaky hatch.

Every time it became safe, I looked around to make sure there were no zombies left on land.

There’s still a little left. But I have to go back and finish it.

After doing two laps as planned, we started heading towards the river.

All the zombies were now in the lake. A good number had sunk to the bottom of the lake, but there were still a few hundred of them running towards the corpses.

There’s no need to waste ammo on the remaining zombies. Just sink them in the river.

    “”Keeeek..!!””

These are the words of a zombie who chased his uncatchable prey to the end. It’s a blessing that this lake exists.

But this luck won’t last forever. You may have to avoid cities as much as possible in the future.

I wonder if the shelter is safe. I have a bad feeling about this.
