Chapter Index

The DJ, who thought we were too explicit at first and quickly changed targets to others.

Well, truly the ruler of this realm, Da-yeong seemed to be enjoying herself as she laughed with the young people.

If it was just about not caring unless it was me, it wouldn’t have mattered, but I didn’t find the sight particularly enjoyable.

Moreover, my strength was waning, and I found myself rolling on the floor for a moment.

    Yes, he made a pretext.

“No, why are you rolling on the floor again? Huh? Yeah, since you’re out, let’s dance a bit and go in.”

Then the floor I was standing on started bouncing.

    “Ugh!”

When I came to my senses, my body was bouncing up and down involuntarily.

But the centrifugal force weakened as I bounced towards the center, so I could withstand it.

Of course, if my legs were normal.

    “Ugh!”

    “Ugh!”

    “Kyaah!”

The DJ persistently tormented me, seemingly determined to send me flying. But at one point, there was someone supporting me. It was the man who had saved us earlier.

Initially, I thought he was just a bundle of desires like a golden monkey, but as I continued to receive help, I began to feel genuinely thankful.

“Hey, what’s going on! The atmosphere is nice, isn’t it?”

As people around cheered, “Woohoo~!” I didn’t like this forced development… Was that not enough, as the floor kept shaking and eventually, I collapsed again. This time, the man also seemed annoyed and fell over with me, ending up falling on top of me in a way that covered me. Naturally, in the chaos of falling, without any effort to support himself with his hands, his body simply sprawled over mine, and his weight pressed down on me.

    “Grrr!”

“Hey, what are you doing now? If this were on YouTube, it would be a yellow badge, right?”

To induce such a situation and then casually say something like that. Do I really want to punch him?

No, more than that, isn’t he burying his face in my chest right now? And this pressure on the stomach, that’s it, right?

The feeling of something bulging and firm pressing firmly on the belly was exactly that, right?

The sensation of a man’s taut abdomen touching mine… No, precisely because he was a man, it felt even more unpleasant.

Of course, I knew it was inevitable, but why did I think that even in this situation?

“How long are you going to do this!”

I pushed him away and said. While this memory might be unforgettable for him, my vacation with my family would be remembered as a very unpleasant one.

Pushing him away and barely getting up to return to my place, the machine finally stopped, signaling the end of our turn.

“Well, did everyone have fun? Oh, look at those guys laughing. You guys will get it from me later, you rascals.”

In the end, those men who came to the party by consuming women like me or those with ambiguous faces to satisfy their desires were problematic, but the DJ was the biggest issue. If I hadn’t been a man in the past, I might have sued him without hesitation.

Later, I heard that this beach land was scheduled for demolition. So, facing unemployment, the DJ was said to be in a rising tide without a tomorrow. According to Da-yeong, disco parties in other areas weren’t as explicit and intense.

Anyway, thinking that Da-yeong seemed to have enjoyed herself a bit, I left the beach land.

    “Excuse me.”

The person who had collided with me earlier approached us as a representative and offered an apology.

“I want to apologize. I think we had too much fun at the MT after a long time, and it seems like we acted without manners…. And Disco Pangpang is also irresistible for me…. Anyway, I’m sorry.”

As he bowed his head. The look from behind seemed intriguing as if it was cutting through, but the person himself seemed genuinely apologetic, making it hard to grasp.

“Well…. I guess it’s possible to do that with a joyful heart when coming to hang out. Anyway, we felt uncomfortable, and those gentlemen standing behind you seem to have lost their manners, so it’s a bit awkward to accept your apology.”

“Yes. I understand. It may sound selfish, but I’m just apologizing because I feel uncomfortable, separate from those friends.”

After saying that, he nodded his head while exhaling deeply.

“Alright. Well, I will accept your apology since you offered it. Just be more careful next time.”

As Dayoung held his hand and turned away.

    “Hey!”

    “Yes?”

    “Oh… If it’s okay, could I have your number….”

So, this was the intention? I said, feeling momentarily cold.

    “Hey.”

    “Yes, yes?”

“If you’re going to fool around, go find someone else. They say you’re being pushy in your local slang. Don’t beat around the bush. Don’t ruin the mood of our trip by being annoying.”

Upon hearing this, the man hesitated and stepped back. A typical bad cop good cop game. While those men portray themselves as bad cops, this man appeals by acting as a good cop, building some camaraderie, and later either whitewashing the image of those bad cops or using coercive methods.

    Childish. Outdated tactics.

Leaving a cold remark, I finally headed towards Beach Land.

    “Oh, Mom, I’m sorry.”

I walked to the beach in silence, feeling a bit angry, when suddenly Dayoung apologized.

“I, I suggested going there for no reason….”

It seemed she noticed my cold attitude.

“Why are you sorry? You didn’t do anything wrong, and they were rude.”

    “Still….”

    “Jung Dayoung.”

    “Y-yes?”

“Mom isn’t really angry. It’s just that a firm attitude is needed with people like them.”

Seeing Dayoung relax, I wrapped my arm around her shoulders and slowly walked along the coast.

“Dayoung, in life, there are ups and downs. But, relationships should be clear.”

    “Okay.”

While I often showed a gentle side to Dayoung, the corporate world had made me quite sharp. Years of work had made me adept at human relations and politics. Therefore, with such individuals, displaying a firm attitude was crucial.

“Be polite and kind, but don’t let yourself be taken advantage of.”

Although I didn’t want to be like that even with my family, always showing a soft side, my wife still left. However, I wanted to raise the children that way.

I raised the hand around her shoulders and gently stroked Dayoung’s head. She nestled against me, seeming to feel better instantly.

    “Hehe, Unni, you’re cool.”

Seeing her shy smile, my heart seemed to soften.

    – Wheee! Bang!

At that moment, a firecracker sound rang in my ears. Among the many people on the sandy beach, there were sporadic individuals shooting off fireworks.

“Should we buy one and try it?”

Da-yeong, who came to the beach, nodded vigorously when I asked if she should try what others were doing.

I took Da-yeong’s hand and headed towards the fireworks merchant.

    “Welcome~”

An elderly man offered fireworks, asking how many we needed. We ended up buying four fireworks and a sparkler.

“Oh, do you need a lighter too?”

He used to carry a lighter when he was a smoker, but not anymore. The man kindly offered a lighter.

“This is complimentary. You girls seem like you’ve come from far away. Hehehe.”

Despite not buying much, the generous service made it clear that appearance played a significant role.

    “Thank you, grandpa.”

Da-yeong, looking younger than me, thanked him politely, earning a satisfied smile from the old man.

After the exchange, we walked deeper into the sandy shore with fireworks in hand.

We lit the sparklers first and enjoyed spinning them. Da-yeong suddenly asked me to draw a heart shape for a photo, showing me a picture she had taken.

“Wow! How did you take this?”

To my surprise, the photo showed a heart-shaped flame in mid-air. It wasn’t photoshopped; it was a result of long exposure.

“You just need to keep the exposure long. It captures movements during that period into a single photo.”

    “What, what?”

Long exposure? What nonsense is this?

I realized my outfit had a bit of exposure as we left the hotel. It was hot, so I wore shorts and a tank top with a thin shirt over it, similar to what Da-yeong wore earlier. Is this some kind of chroma key thing? Should more skin show?

When I asked, Da-yeong’s expression turned cold.

“Just keep the camera aperture open longer, lady. Anyway, blah blah. Why complicate things?”

My face turned red at his words.

“Well, if you don’t know much about photography, that could happen.”

But Da-yeong just looked at me disapprovingly.

Damn it. Today’s Gwangalli Beach trip was a failure.
