Science begins with a branch of philosophy called ‘natural philosophy’.

This was an attempt to interpret the self-evident and immutable laws of nature that do not belong to ‘human experience’, and to borrow the words of Galileo Galilei, it was a pursuit of philosophical truths written in the language of ‘mathematics’ in a book called ‘The Universe’.

It started from the thoughts of Greek philosophers, expanded to a more universal realm by Galileo and Kepler, and found language through the analytic geometry of Descartes and Fermat.

It blossoms after meeting the genius of the century, Isaac Newton.

    What does this mean?

    “Writer?”

    “Yes.”

    “I am the head wizard… . He’s the chief, he’s really smart and amazing… .”

    “Yes.”

    “I don’t understand what this means… ?”

It meant that too many concepts were mixed up to be known to this world.

In fact, this world is close to a level of civilization that is a mixture of Renaissance and post-modern times. In some ways, there are also more advanced aspects. Hygiene standards are perfect, printing presses run all day long in publishing houses, carriages and automobiles roam the streets, and there are even machines that, although messy, could be called airplanes or submarines.

    If there’s one problem.

The civilization of this world is not built on the foundation of ‘natural philosophy’ that pursues self-evidence, but on countless statistics and empirical foundations.

In some ways, it could be said to be the limit of scientific extrapolation. In a world where, like magic, a means exists for ‘individuals’ to shake up the ‘phenomenon’, it was something that could not be helped.

    ” Right? Actually, I don’t understand either.”

    “Yes?”

“So, I’m going to do annotation work. The comments will probably be much longer than the main text, and there will probably be parts that need to be completely revised, and a lot of knowledge that isn’t in the original ‘Principia’ will be included.”

    “I don’t understand… . I’m a senior… .”

“So, I need help that only the ‘chief’ wizard, Millie Cleant, can provide.”

    “Only I can do it… ?”

“Yes. What Millie Clean doesn’t know, other wizards probably don’t know either—so I’m going to use that as a ‘reference point’ to rewrite the book.”

Like Isaac Newton in original history, I had no intention of writing content in a deliberately complicated way. Although I borrowed the name from Principia, what I was trying to create was a kind of ‘science major book’.

A textbook containing theories that can be considered the basis of natural science.

I planned to annotate it as kindly as possible, explain the process by which it is derived if it is knowledge that does not exist in this world, and thereby unravel the knowledge about the ‘self-evidence of causality’ through this book.

To borrow an expression from this world, it was going to be the ‘magic book’ of the ‘Grey Magic Tower’.

    “Hehe, hehe… . That’s right… . What I don’t know, none of the other wizards know… .”

    “Yes, yes.”

    Millie Cléant giggled self-absorbed.

Then, suddenly, as if he was curious, he tilted his head and asked a question.

“But how do you know, author…? ?”

    “It’s me, what.”

Because it cannot be explained with knowledge from a past life.

I just said it as a joke.

“Wouldn’t you have received it even if it were from God?”

    .

    .

    .

    “Everyone… . I brought you a new magic book… .”

    “Chief! Thank you!”

“This magic book was written by Herodotus… How did I come to ask Herodotus for a magic book? .”

“Thank you for your kindness, I will read it! Then, I have something to do from the tower owner, so I’ll just go! Thank you!”

The magic book ‘Principia’ was distributed to the Magic Tower under the leadership of Millie Clean, the chief wizard of the Gray Magic Tower.

The wizards of the Gray Magic Tower began reading the Principia with a mixture of curiosity and curiosity. It was difficult to guess that it was a magic book written by a novelist.

Because of that, I approached the book with a light heart.

    “Kaaagh—!”

“The head wizard has brought the devil’s book!”

    “This knowledge─, knowledge─! It’s so beautiful─!”

He complained of pain after being exposed to excessive knowledge. In fact, if a normal person were to come across Principia, they would just treat it as an ‘incomprehensible book’ and throw it away… .

    They were wizards.

Although we cannot create knowledge that does not exist, we were able to derive the possibility of ‘understanding’ the knowledge that exists before our eyes. Constantly increasing magical influence by strengthening one’s potential as a ‘wizard’ was also the basis of all magic.

However, strengthening a certain ‘possibility’ also means narrowing the range of possibilities.

All wizards are subject to their own magic by erasing the ‘option not to pursue magic’. Wizards of the White Magic Tower suffer from wanderlust throughout their lives, while wizards of the Blue Magic Tower suffer from an obsession with sameness and order.

And the wizards of the ‘Gray Magic Tower’.

    “This… Magic… ? Ah, the fabric of the world is unravelling… .”

“All laws can be defined through mathematics… ? Even the movement of the celestial sphere is ultimately nothing more than an automatic machine that moves according to mathematical truth… ? Then, if you apply this to magic… !”

I made it my pledge to create new knowledge from one piece of knowledge.

This includes application of knowledge, proof, derivation of new formulas, combination with other disciplines, engineering design, and practical methodology. It was the oath of the Gray Magic Tower, which took ‘causation’ as the truth, to perfectly understand one piece of knowledge and derive new knowledge from it.

Wizards used the knowledge and methodology defined in ‘Principia’ to newly construct, deconstruct, and reinterpret existing engineering designs and blueprints.

This ‘magical truth’ soon led to the materialization of the phenomenon.

    Finally.

“Hwaaa! Finally, the long-distance flight of the ‘airplane’ was successfully completed! I passed over the existing crash site dozens of times and never fell!”

We succeeded in overcoming the ‘magical boundary’ that previously blocked engineering development.

Once you succeeded, it was easy from then on. All you have to do is produce standardized aircraft in large quantities, create a route for flight, go through several test flights, and begin statistical stabilization work.

This was something very familiar to the Gray Magic Tower, which could be said to be a group of idiots.

“Record flight data! Communication wizard! Deliver the news to the White Magic Tower! Flight at an altitude that exceeds the limits of existing experiments has been realized! Create a flight route!”

“There is no one in the White Magic Tower right now!”

“Where have all those bastards gone?!”

“I heard you couldn’t wait for the ship for ocean sailing to be completed so you took a canoe and headed south?!”

Of course, there were minor problems. This was the case when the wizards of the White Magic Tower, who developed wanderlust after reading ‘The Adventures of the Duke of Humbug,’ attempted to cross the ocean in a canoe.

The gray magic tower was a specialist in mechanical design, but in other fields it also needed the help of other magic towers.

In order for an airplane to fly properly, it was necessary to mass produce and standardize it with the help of the ‘Blue Magic Tower’ and create a ‘flight route’ with the ‘White Magic Tower’. Only after minimizing the possibility of the plane crashing to the limit could the plane truly be said to be ‘complete’.

It was so strict that it did not allow ‘accidental’ success until it was completed, but the magic was to be more lenient than any chance after it was completed.

Now, ‘Airplane’ has been added to the history of magic.

“Hehe, author… . Would you like to try it yourself? ?”

    “No. I decline.”

“Flying is so much fun… .”

“The scenery from the last test airfield is still vivid before my eyes… .”

    .

    .

    .

The Gray Magic Tower began to stabilize many inventions that had been limited by existing ‘magical restrictions’.

    Airplanes, submarines, steamships… .

The civilization that had stopped developing due to magical reasons began to move forward. And that at incredibly fast speeds. And among them, the ones that showed the most notable development were the means of transportation mentioned above.

“Is it true that you can explore under the ice of the North Sea on this submersible?!”

“Center of the world! Let’s go to the equator! I would pay a fortune if I could see the World Tree with my own eyes!”

This is because various adventure novels and the ‘Adventures of the Duke of Swashbuckler’ have made endless goods invested in the development of ‘means of transportation’.

Everyone living in this world wanted to see with their own eyes the mysteries hidden on this planet.

    Arctic, ocean, jungle, desert… .

Unexplored areas that were originally thought to be inaccessible to humans began to be explored one by one. Countless travel stories and adventure stories were published simultaneously by various publishers and sold out.

Curiosity about the unknown. Passion for pioneering. Fear of huge and overwhelming nature.

Now, people in this world can imagine the ‘universe’ from a more specific and existential perspective. The ‘world view’ that people perceive has become broader.

I was planning to push that imagination to go in a more ‘literary’ direction.

“There are novels by Jules Verne, so there must also be novels by Herbert George Wells… .”

By borrowing the power of the genre called SF.
