“Let’s eat here!”

We settled for lunch at a nearby Gyudon restaurant.

The taste wasn’t much different from the Gyudon in Korea. The only difference was that people were so busy that they often forgot their orders.

After Yuhee gave some hints to the staff in Japanese, we were finally able to eat.

“Yum…”

“I’ll share with you.”

Yuhee came out of the arcade with many shopping bags, but they were all sealed so I couldn’t see what was inside. I asked her what was in them, but she just said she would tell me later. I was too curious and tried to sneak a peek, but when I saw Yuhee’s sharp gaze, I immediately stopped.

“Is it heavy, honey?”

“A little… it’s kind of heavy…”

Each bag was light, but when they all added up, it became quite heavy. The weather was hot, and my arms were sticky.

“Let’s stop by the accommodation.”

“Okay.”

We took the subway back to the Kanda Station. Every time I saw the money being spent, I felt a bit grim. We went back to the accommodation to drop off our bags and rest for a bit, but Yuhee urged me to go out, so I had no choice. I wanted to sneak a peek at the contents of the shopping bags, but it seemed like she noticed.

“I’ll tell you at night… just wait until then.”

Looking at her expression, I knew I had to endure it somehow.

We transferred to the Ginza Line at Ueno Station and arrived at Asakusa Station. There was a famous temple here.

There were giant statues on both sides of the entrance, and in the middle, there was a sculpture with the words “Kaminarimon” written on it. Even on a weekday, many people were coming and going, and I saw some people actually wearing Yukatas.

“Wow…”

The overall red design caught my eye, and the high roof exuded the unique atmosphere of Japanese temples.

As we entered, various souvenirs and talismans were being sold on both sides, and further in, people were worshiping at the large temple.

Yuhee and I went there and put in 100 yen to make a wish.

“I wish to be with Yuhee for the rest of my life…”

Whether we are first cousins or second cousins doesn’t matter. What’s important is that Yuhee and I love each other. That’s all that matters. I know this relationship is wrong, but if Yuhee is happy, then I am satisfied.

And I have a plan. It’s a ridiculous and cowardly plan, but if I want to be with Yuhee and avoid the law’s eyes, there is no other way.

“Someday, I have to tell Yuhee…”

I think Yuhee will accept it, and I hope she does.

Yuhee tapped my shoulder and asked, “What did you wish for?”

“Me…? Um… to be with you forever.”

Whether it was a coincidence or fate, I was secretly happy to hear Yuhee say that our wishes were the same.

I wanted to protect that smile forever.

Yuhee pointed to the wooden boxes next to us.

I wasn’t particularly excited about drawing lots and making wishes like in other countries, but I wanted to try Omikuji at least once. It’s a chance to test my luck.

When I put 100 yen into the slot, a stick with a number rolled out like a straw from a fast-food restaurant, and I pulled out the paper attached to the locker with that number to see the result.

Good fortune…? I’m relieved that it wasn’t bad luck. Yuhee seemed to have a good result too, as she had a happy expression.

“What did you get?”

“Daikichi!”

“Wow!”

“Haha…!?”

Yuhee really is lucky. Without thinking, I patted her head, and she jumped back in surprise.

“Yuhee…?”

“I… I’m also trying to control myself…”

“I see…”

They couldn’t meet each other’s eyes, feeling awkward. In a way, Yuhee was also waiting for the night like me.

“Even though it’s Yuhee… it’s too much…”

A landmark that is about a 30-minute walk from Asakusa. I regretted not taking the subway, but the cool breeze in the afternoon made it bearable.

“So this is it….”

Just like Seoul has Namsan Tower, Tokyo has Tokyo Tower and Skytree. Among them, Skytree is a broadcasting tower that reaches within the top five in the world. I arrived at Skytree.

When I saw it in pictures, it didn’t impress me much like the 63 Building, but seeing it up close, its grandeur was on a different level.

“Ah… it feels cooler now.”

As we entered Skytree and made a reservation at the ticket counter, we were able to enter inside.

There were tickets for the Tenbo Deck, which goes up to 350 meters, the Tenbo Corridor, which goes up to 450 meters, and a combo ticket that allows access to both. Since we were here, we bought the combo ticket to fully enjoy the experience.

“It’s been a while….”

Skytree not only had an observation deck but also had a shopping mall with lots of goods from famous children’s animations.

It’s surprising that the X-cemon series is still going on, it feels like it should be ending soon….

Yuhee picked up a doll but ended up putting it back in its place, showing little interest.

“Let’s go.”

“Yeah.”

After a round of shopping and dinner, the dark evening arrived.

We followed the staff’s guidance and went up to the observation deck. Like other towers, there was a video playing in the elevator, and the floor numbers showed how many meters above ground level we were.

Finally, as we reached the 350-meter mark and the door opened, the city’s night view spread out before us.

“Wow….”

It was different from Namsan and the 63 Building. The buildings illuminated like stars against the backdrop of the dark buildings without lights, along with the lighting of the observation deck itself, created a more charming atmosphere.

“….”

Yuhee seemed amazed too, silently gazing out the window.

“Oh, there’s a shop.”

About halfway around, there was a souvenir shop. They had Skytree models made of wood, puzzles, and gold plating, as well as models of other Japanese landmarks.

The prices didn’t appeal to us, so we just glanced around and quickly left. Following the staff’s guidance, we went up to the 430-meter point, higher than before.

“Is this the way?”

As we exited the elevator, there were paths going up on both sides. The walls showed illustrations starting from 430 meters and guiding up to 450 meters. There were many posters of original manga collaborations along the way.

“So that’s why you have to come to the observation deck at night….”

It seemed like a place not just recommended for a visit, but one that made you feel like the world was connected as you looked at the horizon where the buildings and the sky met.

“Hey!”

Lost in the view, Yuhee called out to me.

“Oh, yeah. What–”

Since we entered Skytree, Yuhee, who hadn’t said anything, ran over and hugged me. Every place where Yuhee’s body touched felt warm due to our thin clothes.

“Yuhee… why all of a sudden….”

“I can’t take it anymore….”

Yuhee breathed heavily. Even though the tower had strong air conditioning, her face turned red as if she had caught a fever.

“Shall we go?”

Understanding the meaning of those words, I immediately descended the tower with Yuhee.

We didn’t exchange a word until we returned to the lodging. It was because we couldn’t imagine what would happen if we did anything in a public place.

As soon as we entered, without anyone saying anything first, our lips met. We didn’t even kiss. The sensation of Yuhee’s tongue, which I hadn’t tasted in a long time, made me feel like I was losing my sanity already.

Despite sweating due to the heat, we didn’t care and embraced each other tightly.

The reason we didn’t say anything at the Sky Tree. Yuhee couldn’t hold back her emotions anymore. The restrained feelings exploded while looking at the view from the observatory.
