Chapter Index

“Explain it properly, straight up. Why are you making excuses for me?”

The truth was that back then, the confession and the suggestion to remain friends after 10 years were just the past. So why did this guy turn from a friend to a jerk, distorting the past and blaming me as if I had some responsibility?

    Lager’s response was ridiculous.

“You’re not wrong. So do you still like me?”

“Just because you said you didn’t like me, we never even started. Why are you bringing up my excuses now?”

“Anyway, it’s a fact that you don’t have feelings for me now.”

    “Don’t play games with me!”

In the end, I raised my voice in frustration. Lena, with a gloomy expression, sipped on the makgeolli that her grandmother had brought.

Her grandmother didn’t try to stop us. She just filled our bowls with makgeolli, indicating that if we had any issues to resolve while drinking, we should do so.

    “Thank you, grandmother.”

“Don’t worry about the demons. Even this old lady fights sometimes.”

“But why did you call us?”

“It’s not difficult to catch those guys, but then the day is wasted. Who will reap the harvest then? There should be someone to help on either side.”

It wasn’t because her grandmother was weak that she called us. I didn’t really trust her, but I decided to believe her to finish this conversation vaguely.

I gulped down the makgeolli nervously and looked back at Lager.

“Lager Godin. You’re really a coward.”

    “Why?”

“Do I have to say it? It’s contradictory for you to make excuses for me. Leaving that aside, man up. What if I like you now? What would change if I confessed my feelings to you compared to a few years ago?”

Lager remained silent with his mouth shut. He just drank his makgeolli and let out a deep sigh.

He still doesn’t get the point.

“Regardless of my feelings, it’s not important at all, right? You don’t like me. That’s the main reason, why are you blaming me for it?”

My head started to ache slightly. I felt like I had drunk quite a bit.

But it wasn’t just the alcohol causing the discomfort.

Lager’s attitude was beyond ridiculous, it was cowardly.

    I really didn’t like it.

    “Do you love me?”

    “……”

“You said a few days ago not to misunderstand. You don’t love me.”

    “Uh.”

    “Was that a lie?”

    Lager seemed hesitant.

His hesitation only annoyed me more.

“Why hesitate? Was it really a lie?”

    “Uh, uh.”

“Enough. Don’t say anything, it’s annoying.”

I took out a cigarette in front of Lager and lit it. The smoke filled the space between us thickly.

“And even if you like me, is this the only way you can express it?”

    “……”

“If you’re going to be a man, at least act like one. You coward.”

Despite Lager trying to hide his red and blue face by bowing his head, he couldn’t stop his trembling fist.

It seems he gained pride as a man but not courage.

I may not have pride, but I have enough courage to tell you that I like you.

Feeling a bit down, I finished the remaining makgeolli in the bowl.

I felt a bit dizzy, but it shouldn’t be a big problem for the afternoon work.

Just as we were about to finish the meal.

    “Ugh….”

    My stomach turned rapidly.

It was the side effect of drinking while smoking. When you drink, you become less sensitive to the stimulation and end up smoking more, which quickly leads to a feeling of nausea and a rapid decline in condition.

    “Ugh.”

    “Ayle, are you okay?”

    “Just fine.”

    “Your complexion doesn’t look good.”

I was also careless. Not only did I overlook the fact that the effects of the makgeolli come on late, but I also didn’t consider that a woman’s body is a bit weak to alcohol.

I couldn’t even take a few steps before the sky started spinning. In the midst of saying “uh,” I lost my balance and fell to the ground.

I heard Lager urgently calling out from behind.

But my shoulders, elbows, and side hitting the ground happened before Lager’s voice.

Moreover, what was more problematic was that my tail tip hit the ground before anything else.

A sound of “cook” rang out. I was pierced, but there was a strange and ominous sensation without pain.

    “Ah….”

A ringing sound in my head.

    Female heat.

    Female heat.

    Female….

    “Ughhhhh!”

Why does she always have to intervene at such a timing and make people feel embarrassed?

My vision blurred, my breathing became hot. Every sensation in my body became heightened, and my lower abdomen started to twitch.

The people in front of me were Lina, Lager, Grandma, and the sleeping Dakota.

To avoid any misunderstandings and embarrassment later on.

I just need to run away for 10 minutes.

I quickly ran down to the field and started riding the new road I had come on with the cart. There was no destination. It was just a plan to run until the notification that the effect had ended rang in my head.

    Please.

    Nothing should happen.

    *

    “Ayle!!”

Seeing Ayle suddenly running away, Lina, Lager, and Grandma were all dumbfounded.

Especially Lager, who tried desperately to grab Ayle but couldn’t bring herself to do it.

The reason for Ayle’s resentment being so great was unexpected, and Lager realized too late that she had just made a big mistake.

She saw it. Just before falling to the ground, her tail moved quickly towards the ground and pierced her. And Ayle, pierced by the tail, was in an extreme state of heat for about 10 minutes, making it very difficult to control her mind.

She was worried about what would happen if she met a stranger, but at the same time, she hesitated because she felt she had no right to worry about her.

    That’s when…

    “What are you doing, Lager!”

    Lina shouted.

Faced with the frustrated expression and tone, Lager could only hesitate again.

“You ran away because you were angry and upset. You should go and apologize!”

“Is it okay for me to do that?”

“Of course. It’s not about whether it’s okay or not, you have to go quickly! Even if you avoided the situation like that, I was waiting for you to come!”

“What difference will it make if I go and apologize?”

“There may be no difference, but you have to do it now, you idiot!”

Of course, Lina’s words were completely wrong. Ayle Chloe did not act based on a woman’s emotions, and above all, Lina did not know how Ayle would react when her tail was pierced.

But like a cow taking a step back to catch a mouse.

Lager had a pretty accurate idea of the direction she needed to take in her actions now.

“Go. And when you go, don’t act like a loner, speak straight.”

    “….”

“Say you like her. You do like her, right?”

Instead of answering, Lager pursed her lips once and quickly chased after Ayle.

That answer was not for Lina. Lina’s words were right.

Looking at Aeil, Laeger approached Cha Yujin. He had to speak directly.

He mustered all his strength as if his spirit would fly away. He was a bit late, but as time passed, he became too cautious, which led to many mistakes.

    Now, he had to speak.

At that moment, when I rejected your heart, I was also afraid.

I was so grateful that you spoke first. Because I loved you so much, I was afraid that our relationship might go awry.

Even if it was just as friends, I wanted to be by your side forever.

I didn’t know that those words would hurt you so much.

Suppressing the breath that reached the tip of his chin, he vowed to speak honestly now. Now that he had become a man, he would confront it regardless of the outcome, just like he did.

From a long time ago, I liked you before you did.

    “Ah, uh, huh, ha….”

However, looking at her appearance as she emerged from the corner of the forest, it was not the right time to have such a serious conversation.

Flushed cheeks and unfocused eyes. The unique effect of the tail added to the drunkenness, making him want to stumble around aimlessly between his chest and legs, fidgeting with his hands.

And even though he was unaware, his thighs were already trembling.

With a face on the brink of intoxication, Laeger looked up at Aeil.

    “A…Aeil.”

    Aeil hesitated for a moment.

Should he help her? If he did, what kind of help would she want?

Even in this situation, wasn’t he imagining a cowardly act to fulfill his own desires?

    So he asked.

    “…Should I help?”

In response, Aeil, as if waiting, drooled and lay on the ground.

“Help me. Help, please save me. My body won’t listen. I feel like I’m going crazy. It’s trembling down there, I feel like I’m going to die. So….”

“Give me your hand. Please let me lick your hand….”

Watching the once proud and composed girl extend her tongue and desperately plead, Laeger felt a strange sense of accomplishment and conquest while also feeling disgusted.

On the other hand, the anticipation that her tongue would once again nibble on his finger swelled his chest with excitement, creating a conflicting feeling of confusion.

But now was not the time to ponder over such things.

Laeger slowly approached her, gently extended his finger as if petting an animal’s chin.

The platinum-haired, haughty girl, as if waiting, wrapped her tongue around the finger of her childhood friend.
