Chapter Index

After a short trip of two days, while I was spending my days lounging around in Rare again, an uninvited guest visited Rare. It was a small woman wearing a hooded cloak with a large bundle on her back.

    “…Peddler?”

“Aaaah! Ma, did you say something?”

The other person looked very surprised when I opened my mouth first. Even so, it hurt me a little to be surprised by what he said, even though he was a person with fine facial features.

“Ah… Arzen must be feminine… Ho, if you don’t mind, may I ask who you are?”

Since I seem to know Arzen, there is no reason for me to be hostile towards him. I quietly revealed my identity. This is my second time, and I can already speak calmly.

“I am someone Arjen cares about. You could call it a love doll.”

    “It’s a doll, but it’s talking…?”

“No, strictly speaking, it is not a doll…”

It was quite sad that the body that my parents gave me was treated as an inorganic thing, but because it had no mana, it was classified as an inanimate object, which was the correct classification in this world.

Rather, based on the fact that the real dolls and magic stone-like stones that do chores in Argen’s Lair have mana, I may be less qualified as a living creature than them.

“Anyway, why did you come here even though you knew it was Argen’s rare? In my experience, there were only two such categories.”

One, like me, was captured by Arjen as a meal. The other case was when he came to subdue Arzen like a hero.

In fact, the only case that came to Arjen to challenge him was a warrior, but since no crazy person would come alone to offer up his body as a living sacrifice, I was curious as to what purpose the woman in front of me had come here for.

“Je, my introduction is late! My name is Ushinante!”

    “Usinante?”

I know it’s Rocinante. The woman who identified herself as Usinante quickly took off her cloak and revealed herself. The cow horns on her head indicated that she was not human.

    “Suin…?”

When even the ears looked like cow ears, I reflexively asked back. She nodded her head loudly as if she was affirming what I said. Speaking of Rocinante, this guy was a cow.

In many ways, I felt like it wasn’t worthy of the name. The only similarity was that they were skinny, but I was speechless when I saw the enormous size of their breasts visible through the loose cloak.

“Yes! I’m working as a peddler! Arzen, we often do door-to-door sales like this.”

With those words, Usinante showed the contents of the bag he was carrying. There was a wide variety of things, from items I had never seen before to ordinary tableware.

I found out why Argen’s rare, which does not often go to human villages, is filled with daily necessities.

“Uh… but didn’t you bring a list of necessary items…?”

I didn’t know you were coming in the first place, so there’s no way you could have something like that.

While I was standing there confused, not knowing what to do, a relief pitcher came on the mound. An automatic doll dressed as a maid in charge of cooking has been released.

“Oh! You’re the doll I always see!”

Usinante also greeted her warmly. When the automaton handed over a list with something written on it, Ucinante began to carefully look at the list and take things out of the luggage.

“Let’s see… this and this… these days, people are buying a lot of things that humans need.”

Maybe it’s because of me. As I was looking at Usinante, who was taking out a bunch of groceries from a mysterious bag that was oozing cold air, a surprising item caught my eye between the bags.

“Wait a minute, is that alcohol?”

A brown liquid contained in a transparent glass bottle. I asked just in case. I suppressed my expectations as much as possible, thinking that it might be something like a potion, but Usinante’s answer when he came back was positive.

“Ah. yes. It is said that corn production has increased significantly since 5 years ago. That’s why a lot of this type of alcohol is distributed these days.”

“Ho, can I buy just one bottle?”

I looked at the automaton with pitiful eyes. It was a slightly tense moment because it was the time when Luv, not Arjen, was active. Unlike Arjen, who would listen to every request, Rube seemed like he wouldn’t buy me alcohol out of concern for my health.

    Nod.

Fortunately, the automaton’s head bobbed up and down. Rube’s permission was given. I cried out in joy.

‘There is whiskey in this world!’

Since it is a brown liquid alcohol made from corn as its main ingredient, there is a high probability that it is similar to bourbon whiskey.

I quite like alcohol. My hobby was home tending, so I had a variety of spirits on display at home and drank them.

It’s not that I don’t like beer, but I remember being disappointed because the beer I had the last time I visited the city with Arjen was so different from the beer I was familiar with.

    ‘But it’s bourbon!’

Of course, since we’re not in the United States, strictly speaking, it can’t be called bourbon, but I couldn’t help but have expectations. I smiled over a bottle of alcohol and moved my luggage with the automaton.

“Thank you for your transaction! See you next time!”

Ucinante returned after leaving a message to me that he would visit here once a month. Normally, I would have wanted to ask a lot of questions about the prisoner I was meeting for the first time, but right now my attention was focused solely on the bottle of alcohol in my hand.

“I didn’t know Eugene liked alcohol so much.”

Rube came back to the room with a listless expression, as if he had finished cleaning up.

“Thank you, Luv! Would you like a drink too?”

“Hehe. I’ll just take your heart. Even if you drink it, you won’t get drunk.”

I opened the bottle with nervousness. As soon as I opened the lid, I felt a smoky yet sweet scent tickling my nose.

I slowly looked at the liquid poured into the glass. The movement of the liquor flowing down the wall of the glass was a little different from what I was used to, but whatever. I couldn’t hold back any longer and took a sip of my drink.

The first thing you feel is the scent of vanilla. The spicy taste that came late pierced my tongue. The alcohol content seemed much higher than I expected, but it was indeed bourbon.

    “Ha…God….”

In a belated rush of emotion, I reflexively looked for God. Being able to taste whiskey in another world made me feel a surge of faith. As a joke, the hero’s holy sword might work now.

“Hehe, you look very happy. I’m so jealous.”

I heard Rube’s words next to me. He must have never shown such joy before. For the first time in a long time, I drank alcohol, amazed by the way it heated up my esophagus.

    “Wow…….”

I was so excited that I couldn’t control my pace and drank it. It had a higher alcohol content than regular whiskey and it had been a while since I drank it, so it was inevitable that I would get drunk quickly.

“Eugene. are you okay? My face is really red… huhu.”

Rube looked at me with an expression that was half worried and half interested. The rube reflected in my eyes looked like it was shaking its body back and forth.

    “What…?”

Correct. The reason I was shaking my body from side to side was not because of Luv, but because my gaze was shaking. I found it difficult to stand up properly so I fell down on the bed.

    “Lubuuuu~~~”

The tail of your speech automatically becomes long. Normally I would have been able to control myself, but I was so drunk that I whined at Rube without hesitation.

    “Come here~”

A smile spread across Rube’s face, as if it was so funny to see myself calling him with my tongue twisted.

“Huh? What do they call it?”

I slyly snatched the body of Luv who approached me and held him tightly in my arms. Because he was drunk, he grabbed her roughly without any control of his strength, but Rube found it more interesting.

“Is this your first time seeing Eugene this violent?”

Of course, being violent doesn’t mean it’s hurting. If it were a dragon’s body, it wouldn’t even lift an eyebrow even if I hit its solar plexus with all my might, let alone hugging it tightly like this.

    “Noisy. Open your mouth.”

I roughly stuck my tongue into Rube’s mouth.

    “Whoop!?”

When I forced my tongue into his mouth that wasn’t fully open yet, Luv looked surprised for a moment, but then calmly accepted me. I felt a sweet scent, different from alcohol, spread throughout my mouth.

“Puhaa…! This is a repayment for always playing with me.”

“Ha… Hmm, really…? Is this barely enough to repay you?”

Luv, as always, provoked me with his tolerant tone. If I were sane, I would have enjoyed sex while grumbling a bit. Every time she mixed it up, she always ended up winning by decision.

    “Ah… it’s not that far…!”

But now I was very drunk. Unable to tell the difference, I insisted that I would educate Luv very well today.

She didn’t know this, and I was too drunk right now to be aware of it, so we were both overlooking something.

    Phew!

    “Huhhh…!?”

That is, my ex-lovers always made me drink a lot of alcohol and made me sleep with them, so I was in a drunken state.
