Chapter Index

    *

Lucia’s eyes opened to knowledge about Sex.

The story Anna told me was weighing on me more than I thought it would.

Lucia, who had made demands that threatened my conscience as a priest even without any knowledge, now possessed that knowledge.

I couldn’t even imagine what kind of demands she would make if her body heated up again.

Of course, if I thought about it calmly, it might not be such a big deal.

Now that she has knowledge, I can tell her why men and women shouldn’t mix their bodies recklessly.

And even if she has knowledge, if I strongly insist that I don’t want it, that kind Lucia might not force me unconditionally.

I thought so and forcibly suppressed the cold sweat that was beading on my forehead.

Of course, it’s better to be careful than to be careless, so I avoided Lucia as much as possible, as she kept trying to hug me.

In fact, I could hug her as much as she wanted, but I knew that if these light touches were repeated, they would inevitably develop into bigger demands someday.

Whenever Lucia approached me with her arms wide open, I would avoid her by saying I had something urgent to do.

Each time, Lucia would say it was okay and let me go, but seeing Lucia’s face with a gloomy expression and her head drooping, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of guilt.

However, a woman’s chastity is an important issue, so I steeled my heart, thinking that this was also for Lucia’s sake, and moved away from her.

I didn’t forget to firmly lock the room and windows at night either.

Kunaat tried to shake me up by saying, “If you keep avoiding her like that, she might become very frustrated,” but I wasn’t stupid enough to listen carefully to the devil’s advice.

Of course, that didn’t mean I could avoid her forever.

Lucia and I had to leave the island together.

The amount I brought last time was quite large, so there was still plenty of food left, but it was only a little bit of grain sacks anyway.

If the meat runs out, Sola will start complaining.

If Sola starts complaining, Anna will start getting annoyed.

If Anna starts getting annoyed, Lucia will start getting stressed out trying to read their moods.

And Lucia, full of stress, will try to cling to me more, and Anna, full of annoyance, will tease me in a more daring way.

The peace of the Monastery, their chastity, and even the vow of chastity I made to the Goddess.

If I could prevent the crisis of all of these being threatened with meat, it was worth taking the risk of going out of the island alone with Lucia.

    The next day.

I finished morning Mass and went out of the island with Lucia.

Perhaps because I had gone on several explorations already.

I couldn’t find any more monsters around Mora Village.

In fact, the number of monsters Lucia had defeated so far had already easily exceeded the population of Mora Village, so perhaps there really weren’t any monsters left around this village.

I didn’t want to spend the night alone with Lucia, so I prayed earnestly that I could return to the island today.

    “Ducks!”

Had the Goddess heard my prayer?

We were fortunate enough to find a flock of ducks on the outskirts of the village.

The ducks looked emaciated, but they didn’t look like wild ducks.

It seemed that a flock of ducks that had been raised on a village farm had been abandoned and were wandering around.

The ducks didn’t run away even when we approached them.

To be precise, they didn’t seem to have the energy to run away.

Lucia slowly stroked the ducks and found them cute.

I was troubled, looking at the ducks that didn’t look to be in good condition.

If I only caught one or two, the amount of meat wouldn’t be enough.

But if I caught and killed a generous amount, the meat might spoil before I could use it all.

If I only took the amount to eat right away, there was the problem of having to come out to explore again soon.

After some deliberation, I decided to take the ducks back to the island.

Lucia was very happy with my decision and held the ducks in her arms.

Lucia, who was carrying the ducks onto the boat, looked at Kunaat, who was lazily yawning on the boat, and said.

    “Um… Kunaat-ssi.”

    “What is it?”

Kunaat tilted his head and replied.

Lucia hesitated for a moment and then slowly looked at Kunaat and said.

    “You can’t eat the ducks.”

    “What?”

    “You can’t hunt them either.”

Kunaat replied in a reluctant tone.

    “…I’m not a cat.”

    “Yes…?”

    “…”

Kunaat shook his head as if he was dumbfounded.

But Lucia stared at Kunaat and quietly muttered.

“But you are a cat, aren’t you?”

“That… just because my appearance is that of a cat, doesn’t mean my eating habits or behavior will be like a cat.”

    “Ah… is that so?”

    “Why are you surprised?”

“Sometimes when I pet you, you stay still, so…”

“That’s… just because I was humoring you.”

I put the remaining ducks on the boat and said as I boarded the boat.

“He’s closer to a son of a bitch than a cat.”

“The nuns seem to have forgotten how to be afraid of devils because they’ve been living with you.”

    “So what.”

“I think I should show them who’s boss sometimes, for my dignity’s sake…”

“Don’t even dream about it. Lucia. Get on quickly.”

    “Ah, yes!”

Lucia stepped onto the boat and naturally sat next to me.

    “…”

    “…Why?”

When I looked at Lucia silently with an awkward face, Lucia made a sulky face and leaned her head on my shoulder.

Until recently, she seemed to at least ask if she could sit next to me, but now she doesn’t even ask and just shoves her butt in.

I couldn’t help but be flustered by her confident appearance, as if my side was her designated seat.

    “Lucia… sit across from me.”

    “…”

    “…Lucia?”

    Lucia didn’t say anything.

She just sat there silently, ignoring my words.

    I sighed and said again.

    “Lucia, across from…”

    “No.”

At that moment, Lucia rudely cut me off.

Surprised by her sudden firm attitude, I looked down at Lucia.

Through the gray hair leaning on my shoulder, I could see her two cheeks flushed red.

    “Lucia…”

Lucia crossed her arms around my arm and shook her head.

It was a resistance that was somehow timid yet very bold.

Lucia slowly shifted her weight towards me.

    Her head touching my shoulder.

Her chest clinging to my arm.

Her weight slowly adding to my side.

Like her resistance, it was a weight that was as light as it was cute, yet very eerie.

Lucia lowered her face and slowly said.

    “Can’t we… go like this?”

    “No…”

    “Why?”

    “…Move away.”

    Lucia shook her head.

The arms crossed around my arm were tightening even more, and as a result, her small chest touching my arm was being pressed even more.

Even though my priest robe and her nun’s habit were in between, that ecstatic softness and smooth texture were being vividly transmitted.

The moment I raised my hand to quickly remove her,

    Lucia slowly began to speak.

“Father. I… I know that you’re avoiding me.”

    “…”

    “You can’t not know… you’ve been avoiding me so… blatantly…”

    “I’m sorry.”

    Lucia shook her head.

    “I can understand.”

    “…”

“You probably don’t like me hugging you, right? I understand.”

    “That’s not true.”

“Don’t try to comfort me with pointless lies. You don’t have to.”

    “Lucia…”

Lucia quietly took a breath while clinging to me.

Her chest was pressing against my arm in a rhythmic beat, in time with the swaying waves.

    “I know what you’re worried about…”

    “…”

“You’re avoiding me because of that night… that incident, right?”

Lucia openly brought up the story about that night.

Anna’s warning came to mind once again, and I felt like my spine was getting wet.

    “…Yeah.”

In fact, I hadn’t had a conversation with Lucia about what happened that night yet.

Lucia herself would blush and change the subject whenever that topic came up, and it wasn’t a conversation topic that I particularly wanted to bring up either.

Of course, that didn’t mean that the events of that night felt like just another old event.

The memories of that night were still very vivid.

Her pure white skin and her cute, perky breasts.

The firm yet elastic bumps in the middle of her breasts, which were as warm and soft as freshly baked bread.

Her heavy breathing and the shallow moans that leaked through her teeth.

And even the smell of her flesh, which was so sweet.

Unlike other memories that become afterimages over time, the memories of that day were a scene that I could still vividly recall even with my eyes closed.

Perhaps Lucia felt the same way.

Lucia slowly took a deep breath, as if savoring the memories of that day.

Then, she slowly said in a small voice.

“…It’s okay. I won’t make those kinds of requests to you anymore…”

    “What?”

    What is it?

The story is different from what Anna warned me about?

Ah, of course, it would be a welcome thing if she didn’t demand any more lewd contact…

    I carefully asked Lucia.

“Lucia… you said you came to my room a few nights ago…”

    “Ah… Anna must have told you… that’s right… I did…”

    “…”

Lucia let out a hollow breath and continued.

“Because I wanted to see you. I wanted to see you. Because I like you.”

    “Lucia…”

    “But, it’s okay.”

Lucia whispered softly as she leaned on me.

    “Because I’m not Anna…”

    “Huh…?”

“So, I won’t ask you to touch me anymore…”

“Why is Anna suddenly coming up…”

    “But, you know. Father…”

    Lucia cut me off again.

    “I won’t ask you to touch me… I won’t even expect to become lovers… I won’t dare to hope for a kiss…”

Each time Lucia spat out a word, her voice slowly became wet with tears.

“Just… like this… okay? Even if it’s only when we’re out of the island like today… please let me sit next to you…”

    “Lucia…”

“When we say good morning, when we say good evening, please hug me just once… is that not allowed either? Anna would allow me that much…”

“No, why does Anna keep coming up…”

“Just let me be next to you… I won’t ask for anything more than that. I’ll only ask for that much… please… please.”

    “…”

    I carefully pushed Lucia away.

Lucia slowly raised her head and looked up at my face.

In her eyes, it was as if shards of ice that had been hurt and finally broken sharply were floating around.

As if those pieces were piercing her cornea, she soon burst into tears.

“Am I so… unlikable that even the time on the boat… isn’t allowed?”

“That’s not true… you know. There’s no way I could dislike you.”

    “Then why, why…”

    I sighed and replied.

“Lucia, I have to row the boat.”

    “Ah…?”

    It was then.

Kunaat, who had been lying face down indifferently watching our conversation, suddenly jumped up and shouted.

“Oh my god. I’ll move the boat for you, so just sit there. Goddamn it, God.”

    “…What?”

“Goodness gracious. To make a devil seek God! Billy, you’re a truly great exorcist priest. You’re really skilled.”

Kunaat’s eyes instantly emitted lights of various colors, and the boat slowly began to move forward.

Lucia looked at me with trembling eyes.

I nodded and raised an arm to allow her to come in.

After a while, Kunaat, who had closed his eyes and opened them again, glared at me with a pathetic look and lay down on his seat again.

I felt bad because of the devil’s annoying glare, but I didn’t activate the needle that was stuck in Kunaat’s chest, seeing Lucia’s happy face.

Lucia rushed to me and buried her face in my arms.

The ducks were startled and flapped their wings and quacked in confusion at the impact of the boat shaking.

    “Oh, how nice to see.”

Kunaat muttered while calming the ducks with his sinister magic.

I stroked the sobbing Lucia and snapped at Kunaat in a blunt tone.

“If you had something like this, why didn’t you help me earlier?”

    “Hmm? When do you mean?”

“I mean that day when Lucia got hurt last time.”

“Ah, that day… there were circumstances.”

    “What circumstances?”

    Lucia slowly looked at Kunaat.

Kunaat chuckled and shook his head.

“Does a devil help people for free? You have to pay a harsh price to make a wish to a devil, you know that well.”

    “Then, what about today?”

Kunaat pointed at Lucia with his chin and replied.

“Lucia is already a devil, think of it as the kindness of a senior helping a new devil.”

“Where is there kindness in a devil?”

    “There’s etiquette between business partners.”

“Ha… another pun. It’s just your mood, isn’t it?”

“Hmm… is it really ‘my’ mood?”

    Lucia suddenly shook her head.

    Kunaat smiled and said.

“I just couldn’t stand seeing the heart-wrenching pain of a girl in love.”

“Hmph, you’re not thinking of corrupting me by using Lucia, are you?”

“Are you someone who would fall for such a trick?”

    I replied in an instant.

“Don’t bother. There’s no way I would defile Lucia.”

    “Ah…”

    Lucia was dejected.

Kunaat cursed at me using the language of Hell, but when I told him that I understood, he immediately shut his mouth and apologized.

The boat arrived at the island faster than when rowing.
