by adminAldaine led his subordinates and left the inn.
Jeong Yu-sin remained seated at the table in the exact posture Aldaine had left in.
The boar beastman stood silently behind Jeong Yu-sin.
Jeong Yu-sin, who had been staring at the table as if nailed to the spot, rose from his seat.
“Let’s go.”
The boar beastman, called Snout Nose, was puzzled.
He had expected that they would find comrades to fight together and devise a plan, but that was not the case.
He thought they should at least gather recovery potions, but they didn’t.
Jeong Yu-sin simply took the sword and coat that Aldaine had given him, and then got up from his seat.
‘He’s going to face 31 people alone?’
He had to stop this young mixed-blood Barbaroi from committing such a reckless and insane act.
Snout Nose opened his mouth.
“Are you serious? It doesn’t seem like you have prepared sufficiently.”
“Don’t give me advice, just guide the way.”
Jeong Yu-sin put on the black coat and gripped the single-edged sword.
Just as Snout Nose was about to speak again, he met Jeong Yu-sin’s eyes.
A strange energy surged beyond those eyes.
It was like the ‘darkness’ of a labyrinth.
Snout Nose’s body trembled.
‘Those aren’t human eyes.’
Snout Nose, who had gone through thick and thin under Aldaine and was mentally strong enough not to be bothered by ordinary things, felt his heart tremble as he looked into Jeong Yu-sin’s eyes.
It felt like bestial eyes were slowly gripping Snout Nose’s heart.
“Let’s go,”
Jeong Yu-sin said again.
“Yes.”
Snout Nose couldn’t meet his eyes any longer and bowed deeply.
The two walked along the dark and quiet southern street.
Walking beside Jeong Yu-sin, Snout Nose spoke about the characteristics of the Eastern District.
Brothels, pleasure quarters, slums.
It was an area where the lowest of the low in the city gathered to live.
A place where those with monster mutation imprints or strange negative imprints gathered, unable to die.
Jeong Yu-sin listened to Snout Nose’s words and walked in silence.
Before he knew it, they had passed through the southern district and arrived in front of the Eastern District.
“Stop.”
There was a guard blocking entry to the Eastern District.
Like the entrance to the inner city they had seen before, the Eastern District was also blocked by guards.
“The curfew for the Eastern District has passed. Turn back.”
Snout Nose stepped forward and handed a leather pouch to the guard, whispering something.
The guard’s eyes widened as he listened to Snout Nose’s words.
“I…Is that so. Pass!”
Jeong Yu-sin took the lead and passed through the gate.
Eastern District.
All sorts of lights flickered dazzlingly.
As Snout Nose had said, it was a place where those with monster imprints gathered.
Slimes were crawling in a line along one side of the road.
An Arachne, half-human and half-spider, was buying things on the street, veiled in cotton.
Small kobolds were gathered with goblins, bickering and arguing with each other, making squeaking noises.
A huge ogre stood in front of a bar, arms crossed, glaring.
In addition, various strangely shaped monsters overflowed the streets.
It was a completely different atmosphere from the quiet southern district.
People were drunk and shouting, yelling on the streets.
Some were negotiating prices with prostitutes in dark alleys.
Orange. Yellow. Green. Blue. Red.
All sorts of lights coming from the stores mixed together, illuminating the decadent and hedonistic streets.
Only Jeong Yu-sin walked with a somber expression.
Snout Nose spoke cautiously.
“We need to go deeper from here. If you have anything to do, you can stay for a while…”
“Just go.”
“Yes,”
They left the dazzling street and walked for a long time.
Leaving behind the sounds of revelry, they moved to a dark and quiet area.
Houses made haphazardly of planks were visible.
Foul-smelling sewage flowed in the ditches. Vomit and blood stains were pressed against the old walls.
They walked for a long time.
Fighting sounds, snoring sounds, moans and cries.
All sorts of raw sounds of human existence flowed out of the shantytown.
Jeong Yu-sin listened to all those sounds and moved deeper.
Had they walked for about 3 hours?
A place that looked like an old wooden inn came into view.
Light was leaking from the gaps in the old wooden door.
Loud chatter was heard.
“This is it. The total number known so far is 30. They’re probably all gathered here. Except for those scattered in small groups, the executive-level members gather here once a month. Low-level ones, though.”
Snout Nose said.
So they’re all executives.
“It’s not too late now. Prepare a little more and then go.”
“Go back.”
“Sir.”
Jeong Yu-sin turned to look at Snout Nose.
“Go.”
Snout Nose couldn’t meet his eyes any longer, so he bowed and turned back.
Jeong Yu-sin watched the boar beastman disappear into the darkness, then stood in front of the bar.
Creak.
The old door creaked open, and Jeong Yu-sin entered.
The loud chatter stopped abruptly.
Jeong Yu-sin looked around, counting the number of people.
31 in total.
It was different from the number Snout Nose had said.
Jeong Yu-sin’s eyes, which had been scanning the surroundings, stopped at one place.
A human male wiping glasses behind the counter.
Tarman.
A member of Kaal’s party.
Because he injured his leg and couldn’t enter with Kaal’s party, Jeong Yu-sin had gone in instead.
As a result, he had almost died.
The events that followed were buried and forgotten due to the goodwill and help that Jeong Yu-sin had shown.
He had heard that Tarman was working with Anne in the labyrinth city.
He had heard that he was raising money to support Dean, who had gone crazy with ‘darkness’, and Marie, who was pregnant with a hobgoblin.
‘Why are you here?’
His head spun with a sense of despair.
He wanted to know the reason why he was here. Desperately.
Just then, a human male with a thick beard approached.
“Who are you?”
Jeong Yu-sin took out a dagger from his chest and showed it.
“Someone like this.”
The man flinched and stepped back.
When Jeong Yu-sin showed the mark on the dagger, he relaxed and nodded.
“What is it? A Barbaroi? A new executive who just came in?”
“That’s right.”
“He’s not much of a talker.”
The man smiled slyly and nodded.
“A newbie has arrived!!”
The man shouted. Giggling sounds were heard from around.
“Sit down. You should have a drink.”
Guided by the man, Jeong Yu-sin came to the center of the bar and sat down.
Tarman approached, carrying a bottle of alcohol and glasses.
Jeong Yu-sin and Tarman made eye contact.
Tarman recognized Jeong Yu-sin and trembled.
“What is it? Tarman, do you know him?”
“N…No.”
The man smiled slyly.
“Is that so? Well, I guess. All Barbaroi look alike. Muscular and savage, they can’t resist any hole they see. Beasts, all of them.”
The man snatched the bottle and glasses from Tarman and placed them on the table.
The one-eyed man opened the bottle and poured alcohol into the glass.
“Here, here. Drink a lot.”
The alcohol poured out, filling the glass.
Drops of alcohol splashed here and there, wetting the table.
Jeong Yu-sin sat still, staring at the glass.
“Why? Do you think there’s poison in the alcohol? Are you scared?”
The surroundings were quiet. You could hear a pin drop.
The man continued, smiling crookedly.
“Sir, you big-hearted bastard. What brings you here? Did you like the gift we gave you?”
The man grinned.
Instead of answering, Jeong Yu-sin raised his finger and tapped the glass.
Ting. Ting. Ting.
Not even a breath could be heard.
Only the glass was echoing in the quiet bar.
Jeong Yu-sin opened his mouth.
“How did you know?”
The hairy man chuckled.
“You mindless bastard. You’re the only Barbaroi who’s entered the labyrinth city in the last three years. There’s no way we wouldn’t know.”
Is that so.
“Did you think we were complete idiots? That we’d just let you in if you showed us a dagger? We knew and let you in.”
The man said as he poured alcohol into his glass.
Glug, glug, glug.
When the alcohol was about half full, the man continued.
“Were you enjoying being next to that bitch Karin? Did you think you were anything because that bastard Darmon was protecting you?”
Jeong Yu-sin listened silently to the man’s insults, then turned his head to look at Tarman.
Tarman stood there trembling, unable to do anything.
The hairy man gestured for Tarman to come closer.
Tarman approached the man and bent over.
Slap!!!
Thud!
Tarman, who had been slapped across the face, broke a chair and a table and rolled away.
“You have to answer. You stupid newbie. This mixed-blood Barbaroi is asking you a question, isn’t he? You grabbed my pant leg saying you wanted to earn money, but you can’t even do your job properly. You pathetic bastard.”
The man smiled slyly at Jeong Yu-sin.
“Right?”
“…”
“Yes or no? Answer me. Am I talking to myself?”
“…Why did you mess with Dito’s family?”
The man smiled and leaned back, tilting his glass to take a sip of alcohol.
“That pathetic little kid, I don’t know where he got the money, but he went to the pharmacy to try and cure his mom. I killed him because I hated his hopeful face. He followed his dad. If he had just done what he was told, none of this would have happened. It’s karma, karma.”
The man stood up and continued.
“He even had food in his pocket. I wonder where he met such a generous and easygoing guy.”
“Where’s the boss?”
The man chuckled and looked around, speaking quietly.
“Guys, he’s just a beginner explorer who’s only been in the labyrinth three times. He’s just a young mixed-blood, so send him off nicely.”
Clang.
The men surrounding the table where Jeong Yu-sin was sitting drew their weapons.
Sitting on the chair, he looked around.
Various guys were holding all sorts of strange weapons.
Maces, harpoon swords, hand axes, crossbows, daggers, longswords, rapiers, hammers.
All kinds of famous weapons gleamed coldly under the bar’s lights.
Similar emotions were floating on the faces of the guys surrounding the table.
Sneers, contempt, disdain, and ridicule.
But Jeong Yu-sin didn’t react to any of it. He just sat there quietly, looking at Tarman’s face.
Tarman was looking at Jeong Yu-sin in the same fallen position.
The fact that the mixed-blood Barbaroi, who had saved his childhood friends and even shown kindness, was about to die in front of him pricked his conscience.
But there was nothing he could do.
He was nothing more than a weak, low-life bug.
A sneer hung on the man’s face.
“He’s too scared to even move. You pathetic Barbaroi.”
At that moment.
Whoosh!!!
Light flashed from the sword.
Splatter!!!
In a single move, the man’s head flew into the air.
Pshooo.
Blood gushed from the severed section of the neck where the head had been.
The body, having lost its head, lost its strength and collapsed to the floor.
Thud! Thump! Thump!
The man’s head fell to the floor and rolled away.
The people in the bar watched the scene with stiff bodies, blinking their eyes.
Jeong Yu-sin was holding a long, single-edged sword in his hand.
No one in the inn had seen when Jeong Yu-sin had drawn his sword.
Tarman’s eyes widened like saucers.
Jeong Yu-sin slowly rose from his seat and looked around.
“You bug-like things. I’ll kill you all.”
The guy with the mace shouted spasmodically.
“Kill him!!”
Jeong Yu-sin kicked the table.
Bang!!!
The guys hit by the table went tumbling.
Weapons were swung at Jeong Yu-sin simultaneously.
A mace on the right.
A harpoon sword on the left.
A dagger from behind.
His increased instantaneous perception ability through leveling up made it possible.
He turned his body and avoided the dagger stabbing from behind.
Jeong Yu-sin swung his sword down. His target was the guy with the mace.
Slash!!!
The face of the guy with the mace was split in half.
Blood and whitish brain matter splattered on his face.
He killed one guy.
There was a price to pay as well.
The harpoon sword tore through his shoulder, tearing away a chunk of flesh.
Crunch.
“Kkeueuk.”
The sound of gritted teeth escaped from Jeong Yu-sin’s mouth.
[Revenge]
Imprint activated.
Blue ghost flames blazed in Jeong Yu-sin’s eyes.
One guy exclaimed in horror.
“It’s an imprint ability!”
“Be careful!”
The guys began to move cautiously.
The harpoon sword that had passed his shoulder came flying again.
Jeong Yu-sin turned his body and swung his sword diagonally.
From bottom to top.
Slice!!!
The thin sword cut through the stomach skin and severed the intestines.
“Kkyaaaaak!!!”
The guy with the harpoon sword dropped his sword and screamed, clutching his stomach.
There was no time to rest. Weapons were flying at him even at this moment.
Jeong Yu-sin quickly rolled and stood behind the guy clutching his stomach.
All sorts of weapons flew and crushed the guy, tearing him to pieces.
Thwack. Crack. Slash.
Jeong Yu-sin ran towards the next guy, his coat fluttering.
The guy with the longsword.
The guy screamed and thrust his longsword forward.
‘Wrist.’
The blood-red sword cut off the guy’s wrist.
Chhhhk!!!
Blood gushed from the severed section of the wrist.
“Hwaaaaaak!!!”
The guy whose wrist had been cut off howled. He was in a panic, unable to stop the bleeding, and was just trembling.
He quickly scanned the surroundings.
A spear and a rapier from the front.
A dagger and an axe from the side.
‘I can’t block them all.’
He would give up some flesh.
He just had to avoid fatal wounds.
He grabbed the spear that was thrusting in and swung his sword.
The sword cut through the wind.
Swish!!!
He simultaneously cut the throat of the guy holding the spear and the two eyes of the guy holding the rapier.
“Kkyaaaaaak!!!”
One guy clutched his throat and the other covered his eyes, screaming in agony and retreating.
The axe came flying.
Jeong Yu-sin took a step forward towards the axe that was being swung down.
Bang!!
The axe handle struck his shoulder. His shoulder throbbed. At the same time, the dagger thrusting in from the side pierced his stomach.
One stab. Two stabs. Three stabs.
The dagger tore through Jeong Yu-sin’s side.
But Jeong Yu-sin didn’t care and bit into the axe-wielding guy’s neck bones. Like a wolf.
Crunch.
His mouth was full of flesh and bones.
The guy whose Adam’s apple had been torn out struggled and retreated before falling to his knees.
Clatter.
The axe fell to the floor.
Chewing, he spat it out on the floor.
“Ptooey!”
Finely chopped Adam’s apple and flesh mixed with saliva and flew to stick to the floor.
Jeong Yu-sin looked down at the guy who was stabbing him diligently with a dagger from his side.
[Revenge]
Blue ghost flames blazed in Jeong Yu-sin’s eyes.
The face of the guy who met his eyes convulsed.
“You bastard…stop stabbing me already.”
Jeong Yu-sin grabbed the wrist of the guy holding the dagger and twisted it to the side.
Snap.
“Heok!!!”
The guy whose wrist bones had crumbled gasped for air.
He snatched the dagger and stabbed the guy’s abdomen.
Stab.
“Kkeueuk!!!”
Without stopping there, he plunged the single-edged sword deep into the guy.
Thwack.
“Kkeueuk!!!”
Jeong Yu-sin pushed forward, pushing the guy’s body, and continued to stab the guy’s stomach with the dagger in his other hand.
Stab stab stab stab.
Each time the dagger stabbed the abdomen, the guy’s body flopped like a fish.
Thump!!!
The sound of a crossbow string.
Jeong Yu-sin quickly lowered his body.
Thwack!!!
The bolt pierced the guy’s head and was embedded.
He was a guy who couldn’t live much longer anyway because the dagger had torn through his intestines.
“Mo…Monster.”
The remaining guys trembled.
“Ki…Kill him!!! We still have the advantage!!!”
A large guy rushed in and swung a huge hammer.
Jeong Yu-sin pulled out his sword and dodged slightly to the side.
Shatter!!!
The table and chairs hit by the hammer were smashed, and wooden fragments flew.
The scattering wooden fragments flowed slowly.
Jeong Yu-sin gripped the sword with both hands.
One breath was enough.
Downward strike.
Slash!!!
The guy’s wrist fell.
“Uwooooo!!!”
The large guy whose wrist had been cut off screamed and turned his body.
Knee strike.
The long sword cut through the knee cartilage.
The large guy knelt on one knee.
Upward strike.
He retrieved the sword and struck the guy’s neck for the last time.
Whoosh!!!
The large neck flew into the sky before falling to the wooden floor and rolling somewhere.
Queek!!!
Jeong Yu-sin reflexively raised his palm.
Whack!!
A pointy spike of military pick pierced Jeong Yu-sin’s palm and protruded out.
“Heo. Heo.”
A triumphant smile spread across the face of the guy who was gasping for air.
Jeong Yu-sin gritted his teeth and pulled the pierced hand.
The guy dropped his weapon and retreated.
“Now’s the time!”
The guy’s words were not finished.
Smack!!!
Jeong Yu-sin’s headbutt was embedded in the guy’s face.
His nose was crushed and broken teeth flew into the air.
“Kkeoeok!!!”
The guy who was screaming and struggling.
He pulled out the military pick embedded in his palm and slammed it into the guy’s forehead.
Crunch!!!
The spike broke the forehead bone and was embedded in the brain.
The guy’s eyes rolled back and he fell like a log.
Thud.
The sound of the body falling to the floor was a signal.
“Hwaaaaak!!!”
The few remaining guys ran to the entrance.
Were they trying to escape?
[Sacred Weapon]
The shining dagger flew like a bolt.
It was embedded in the wrist of the guy who had just grabbed the bar door handle.
“Kkyaak!!!”
The guy grabbed his wrist and screamed.
Jeong Yu-sin ran quickly and cut off the guy’s neck.
The strong stream of blood that spurted from the severed section of the neck painted the bar door.
Whirly.
Jeong Yu-sin shook the thin sword in the air to shake off the blood.
Due to the effect of the Revenge imprint, the wounded body was slowly healing.
Jeong Yu-sin, who was blocking the entrance, looked at the single-edged sword illuminated by the bar’s lights and said.
“You can’t get out. No one.”
Jeong Yu-sin’s indifferent voice sentenced death to those remaining in the bar.
