Chapter Index

Cult Maker (3) – 1st floor of Hanmaeum Salvation Church.

    “… Huh?”

Kim Eun-byeol’s eyes widened when she arrived at the first floor.

Looking at her surprised expression, Han Gu-won spoke in a proud tone.

“A lot has changed since before you entered the penance room, right?”

Kim Eun-byeol’s wide open mouth didn’t even have time to respond to his words.

A huge stone statue where sunlight rests sacredly and a bouquet of colorful flowers placed at its feet.

LED monitors hanging on pure white wallpaper and an air conditioner running at the end of the hallway.

The zombies shown on the monitor and the cool breeze coming from the air conditioner were quite unfamiliar to her.

Products of modern times that I thought I would never feel again.

“There are believers who say it is already hot. Summer seems to be coming especially quickly this time.”

    “… Uh, how?”

The library that was their home had disappeared without a trace.

Now a perfect religious facility was in front of her.

The leader brought her to the monitor without saying a word.

A group of zombies moaning constantly under the orange shield shown on the monitor.

“It’s only been a few minutes since Eunbyeol’s congregation showed sincerity, but pieces of faith are already visible.”

Han Gu-won’s hand gently brushed her buttocks.

“I guessed wrong. Perhaps the most noticeable non-believer to the believers was not the Eunbyeol believer, but was right in front of our eyes.”

    Kkkk!

Her eyes shook in time with the zombie’s howl.

Han Gu-won slowly took her to the second floor.

“… You brought me out of hell.”

As soon as she got to the second floor, her heart pounded like crazy at the loud voice she heard.

    “Cha, Chan!”

    “Oops, calm down. Not Himchan.”

    Trap – plod –

The two walked across the pure white floor and stopped in front of a huge white door.

The leader quietly scolded Kim Eun-byeol, who was very excited.

“This is a child named Shin Ji-hoon, who is around the same age as Chan. Probably Himchan and I will become good friends.”

“Ahh, leader. Well, our Chan is… .”

“Hahaha, the timing was great. From what Jihoon says, it seems like he’s just getting started. Now, let’s go pray.”

    It’s a profit –

The white door opened and a newly renovated prayer room welcomed them.

Chairs from beginning to end and a podium in the center.

And Yoon Ah-young and Seong Ga-eul, who were already sitting on either side of the podium, stood up after checking on the religious leader.

    Drurrr

As Shin Ji-hoon’s microphone sound decreased, there was a sound of chairs being pulled out, and the believers gathered in the front fell down while looking at the religious leader.

“Hahaha, I guess I’m not too late, right?”

“Of course, leader. Please take your seat quickly.”

Hearing Seong Ga-eul’s calm voice, the leader winked at Kim Eun-byeol.

After confirming that Kim Eun-byeol, who understood immediately, was mingling with the group of believers, the leader stood at the central podium.

“Now, don’t worry about me and continue.”

Yoon Ah-young and Seong Ga-eul quietly sat down to hear the benevolent voice.

The believers who saw this from the corner of their eyes sat down on their chairs again, and Shin Ji-hoon held the microphone again with his small hand.

“I cried every day since Mom and Dad were taken away by the bad guys. I cried because I missed my mom, I missed my dad, and I was so hungry.”

A cute voice came through the microphone and echoed through the prayer room again.

“Every time that happened, my bad brother hit me. He tormented his pretty sisters every day and ate only food to himself, and only ate the crumbs they occasionally threw at him.”

The sighs of believers were occasionally heard at the child’s simple but heartbreaking confession.

“Just when I was so hungry that I thought I was going to die, the religious leader appeared and defeated the bad brother. After bringing me here, the leader gave me delicious food and snacks every day.”

    “… I believe it. I believe it.”

Eunbyeol Kim quietly looked left and right.

Grandmothers and grandfathers whom I had never seen before were whispering, “I believe,” as if they were wearing Shinto clothes.

“I was always hungry and cold outside. By the way, here we have food and a robot toy given to us by the teacher.”

    ha ha ha-

With a small laugh, the leader was looking at Shin Ji-hoon with a happy face.

“I am forever grateful for the grace of the church leader, and I really want to grow up to become a person needed by the Church of Salvation! Thank you!”

    “Wow!”

    match-! match-! match-!

The polite belly bow that concluded the speech was followed by cheers and applause.

The faces of the believers were filled with bright smiles, as if they had just seen a cute joke.

When Shin Ji-hoon sat down, Seo Tae-san, who was next to him, patted his head as if he was proud.

Han Gu-won, who was looking at the scene with his chin up, straightened up with a small smile.

At that moment, the somewhat relaxed atmosphere became tense and the believers straightened their posture.

In silence, Han Gu-won opened his mouth.

“He is a truly clear and pure child. There is nothing wrong with what has been said since ancient times. Children are not good at lying.”

    ha ha ha-

Han Gu-won paused for a moment as laughter poured out in response.

He responded quietly to the laughter, but as soon as the laughter died down, he spoke again.

“I am a young child untouched by the world. I also know children who have not learned lies and prejudice. The world has already become hell.”

Even though he was not using a microphone, his words resonated in the spacious prayer room.

A voice echoed from all directions, knocking on the believers’ entire bodies like the voice of God.

    “Now! Look outside!”

Following the religious leader’s hand gestures, the congregation’s attention is focused on the huge monitor in front.

    “Hey profit!”

The video of zombies hunting humans along with the believers’ flagship is repeated.

A woman desperately trying to escape tripped over a rock and fell.

Numerous zombies attacked the woman who had tragically fallen.

A prolonged scream and the sound of crunching and chewing rang through the prayer room.

From believers frowning to believers turning their heads because they couldn’t bear to see the end.

    “Look at their faces!”

The video stops and the faces of the zombies who were having a wild festival are enlarged.

They also had human faces no different from the fallen woman.

“What crime did these people have that led them to lust for the flesh of their own people?”

Han Gu-won’s voice becomes more heated.

“What a big sin I committed! Did they wear the skin of a monster!”

    Tong-

He continued speaking with his hand slamming down on the podium.

“The colleague I had a drink with yesterday is going crazy! A couple who promised to spend eternity struggle with each other! In this flood of sins, children who didn’t feel pain when they put it in their eyes eat their parents!”

As the words continued quickly, Kim Eun-byeol put her hands together without realizing it.

His pleading voice touched Kim Eun-byeol’s heart.

“There is also a being who is the savior of all mankind! Even those who enlightened themselves under the Bodhi tree! The Almighty whom the last prophet obeyed has not come!”

The trust that had existed for a long time is being broken.

The gods in the hearts of all those who hoped for salvation turned away from them.

“However, special people have come to this world that even God ignores! They spit out fire and water! He boasted of an unknown ability!”

In accordance with his words, Han Gu-won’s body slowly began to glow.

“The last lights of hope that must strive for the preservation of humanity! Those who must save and sacrifice for each other! Rather, it only exploited those suffering from disaster!”

With the sound of “Ahhhh,” the old and weak people who had newly entered the Salvation Church let out a sigh.

Kim Eun-byeol, who was looking at Shin Ji-hoon with tears in his eyes, looked at the leader again.

Han Gu-won’s words gradually became quiet, almost like a whisper.

“It was only after witnessing that terrible scene that I realized! What I have to do in this world! no! Do what you have to do.”

His words subtly shook the hearts of the believers, like hot fire hidden in coldness.

The words that ended in a very small voice began to grow louder as if they had gained strength again.

His hand gestured to the zombies on the monitor.

“Look at the remnants of this fallen world! What I have to do is restore the destroyed world! It wasn’t even rebuilding!”

    He spread his arms wide.

“Using the fallen ashes as fertilizer to create a new world!”

At his proclamation, the believers simultaneously got up from their chairs and fell to the floor.

A shout of joy echoed like thunder above the head of Kim Eun-byeol, who had joined the ranks without realizing it.

“My chosen sons and daughters in the new world I saved with my own hands!”

    “Aaaaa!”

“My children, conceived not with red blood but with pure white faith and salvation!”

White light leaked out as if resonating from the bodies of the believers lying flat on their faces.

A long stream of light flowed slowly and arrogantly towards the religious leader.

“Raise your head! And lo and behold! These are the remnants of a collapsed world! It is the sin of the crying woman’s disbelief!”

    “Keee!”

    Wow!

A huge white door opened with a strange voice.

The believers slightly raised their heads and saw a small box passing through the door and flying toward the center.

A small box with iron bars on all sides was constantly shaking and fluttering.

Kim Eun-byeol’s eyes met the young zombie who was shaking the box and rebelling.

She covered her mouth with both hands and called out to her son as if screaming.

    “Chanaaaa!”

    “Keee!”

I look closely at my son as he answers his mother’s questions.

She has a brave appearance that is exactly like her husband and herself.

A black sweatshirt and yellow pants from a luxury brand that I bought and wore at a department store as a birthday present.

These were all signs of his son, but when asked by his mother, Park Himchan did not answer “mother” like he always did.

I could see the overflowing murderous intent and appetite reflected in the little flesh and blood’s eyes.

And the image of myself crying reflected in my broken pupil.

As she collapsed in despair, the box was indifferently moved steadily to the center.

Han Gu-won shouted as the box arrived right in front of the podium and floated gently.

“Do not be afraid! Do not doubt!”

Kim Eun-byeol’s body slightly retreated from the land of despair at the loud shout.

The religious leader’s words seemed as if they were being spoken to himself.

Kim Eun-byeol opened her mouth in a daze and witnessed Han Gu-won approaching the box.

    “Keee!”

The box continued to shake as if in defiance of the approaching Han Gu-won.

The bodies of the believers flinched at the sound of vocal cords scraping through the sacred prayer room.

However, Guwon Han calmly opened the door of the box.

The eyes of the believers were filled with surprise as they expected a cocky, flesh-craving zombie to jump out at any moment.

    “Keee!”

The young zombie inside the box began to slowly walk out.

He knelt at the feet of Han Gu-won, who was smiling quietly with a creaky gesture.

    “Aaaa!”

With Kim Eun-byeol’s exclamation, a bottle filled with white light landed in the hand of the leader from the ceiling.

With everyone’s attention focused, the leader’s hand slowly opened the bottle and tilted it towards the young zombie’s mouth.

    “Kiss, kkissss!”

The cult leader’s arm landed on the zombie’s head, which was screaming in pain.

He shouted, stroking his head as if he was stroking or harshly scolding him.

“O unbeliever who dwells in the bloodline of my precious child! Disappear immediately!”

As the leader shouted, his body began to glow white.

The blinding light slowly moved down the arms of the young zombie.

“Disappear immediately! May the sin of unbelief be finally saved!”

    “Keee—”

With a voice slowly losing strength, the zombie’s head turned towards the ground.

After a long silence, the zombie flinched.

At that sight, Kim Eun-byeol fell to her knees and clenched her hands.

There has never been a moment so desperate in my entire life.

The zombie that continued to flinch slowly turned its head.

    ‘Please, please, please, please, please.’

Kim Eun-byeol’s eyes did not blink once and she found the God she had never looked for in her life.

His head slowly turned backwards and he looked around as if looking for someone.

Soon, the person who was hoping and the thing he was hoping for were connected.

Slowly, unsteadily, Kim Eun-byeol stood up.

Stem after stream of tears rolled past my chin and hit the ground.

She has a brave appearance that is exactly like her husband and herself.

A black sweatshirt and yellow pants from a luxury brand that I bought and wore at a department store as a birthday present.

Those warm eyes that always smiled at me like a mischievous person.

    “… Mom?”

    “Aaaa!”

Kim Eun-byeol, who lost her footing, crawled over and hugged Park Him-chan.

    “Uh, mommy! Ahhh!”

“Chan! Chan! Yes, mom. Mom is here. Now, it’s okay now, everything’s okay. The leader, the leader will protect you!”

Kim Eun-byeol, who was fumbling around with Park Him-chan, looked up at Han Gu-won.

I didn’t dare make eye contact with the white glow.

She repeatedly hit her head on the floor.

    Thump-thump-

“Thank you! Thank you, teacher! I believe it! I really believe it now! I believe it!”

    “Ahhhh, I believe it, leader!”

    I believe it!

The prayer that started with Kim Eun-byeol quickly spread to the believers.

The slight heat turned into a sea of hot fire, heating up the prayer room.

From those who hit their foreheads on the floor like Kim Eun-byeol, to believers who pound their bodies, to believers who shake their heads continuously, to believers who get up and dance.

The Savior spoke to the believers who were sobbing in various ways.

“Pray! Only your earnest prayers will make me stronger and stronger!”

    “I believe it!”

During the chain of faith, Yoon A-young and Seong Ga-eul, who had been guarding both sides of the religious leader, knelt in front of the religious leader.

Their gently clasped hands and bowed heads proved their sincerity.

“Everyone, kneel before me and truly obey me with faith!”

Han Gu-won spread his arms and raised his head.

The flowing light that filled the prayer room on the hill facing the sky shimmered in his eyes.

“I am your parent and protector, a lamp and the truth!”

A bright light exploded and the leader’s voice spread like thunder.

“Pray with one mind! I am your eternal guide and savior!”

    I will definitely protect you!

    “I will save you.”
