Chapter Index

Amy picked up the head of the iron doll that had fallen to the floor and put it back in its original place.

There was a creaking sound coming from the iron doll, and it even seemed to shake as if it didn’t fit properly.

Amy hit the squeaky iron doll’s head with her fist.

Due to the impact, the crushed head seemed to be firmly fixed to the body and did not shake any longer.

Only then was I able to examine the doll’s body in detail.

The appearance of an iron doll that retains the shapes of fists flying from all directions on its body.

    The sight even looked pitiful.

    ” and… .”

If Amy got a honey bump, it didn’t seem like it would end with just a bump.

I sat up, turning around and touching my hair without realizing it.

    “Victor.”

    “Why?”

    “What are Amy’s abilities?”

    “I don’t know either.”

Victor answered as if he was annoyed.

But it didn’t seem like he was lying.

    I understood what he meant.

There are many capable people in the world.

It was virtually impossible to subdivide all of those abilities into their respective categories.

“Probably you don’t know what it is either.”

    Victor added softly.

He said, creating a field of electricity in his hand.

“Anyway, both of you completed the flow.”

    I nodded.

I could tell because the current flowing through Victor’s hand felt familiar, almost friendly.

“No ball play allowed until this is completed.”

    “Oh no!”

I got up from my seat in surprise.

    You can’t play ball?

Shine, who was sitting next to him, also seemed shocked and her gaze wavered.

“If you want to play, play hard.”

Victor said so and fixed his gaze on the desk.

    Further conversation seemed impossible.

I looked back at Amy with a sad face.

Amy, who was holding a water bottle and drinking water, just gave me an awkward smile.

    “Ha!”

I sighed and raised my hands.

    You can do it.

I just started to replicate the flow that Victor had just shown me.

A blue electric field spreads across the hand.

A wide, blue line stretched out in all directions.

    The hair stands on end.

    It stopped here earlier.

It sends out blue light that runs wild at a certain rhythm.

    Light bouncing in the air.

The blue lines that were flying in all directions begin to converge into one.

But it quickly gets out of control.

I had never tried such a small and delicate operation before, so I was lacking in the know-how.

    “Profit!”

I gritted my teeth and increased my abilities even further.

If it’s small, make it bigger, bigger, and work your way up from there.

The electric field extending from my hand grows in size and envelops my body.

A current field extending out like a round sphere.

Control the flow that spreads out in all directions.

And so the lines that had been running wild come together as one.

    “A little smaller.”

I begin to reduce the size of the current field as Victor suggests.

The hair that had been swaying around calmly settles down, and the electricity that had been covering my entire body gathers in my hand.

    Snap-!

Immediately after that, a blue current suddenly shot out.

The current, which extends in a straight line into the air, hits the fluorescent light hanging from the ceiling.

    “Gasp!”

    A blackened ceiling.

The current that shot out of my hand snatched the light from the brightly glowing fluorescent light.

The room became dark in an instant.

    I made a sad face.

    It was too difficult.

Victor took out a fluorescent light bulb from the storage room in the corner as if it were something he was used to and started to change it.

I sat on the chair, slumped over, and fidgeted with my hands.

“No one is good at something from the start.”

Victor opened his mouth as he climbed up the ladder to change a fluorescent light bulb.

How do you know I’m gloomy without even giving me a glance?

I could tell that Victor’s personality was somewhat indifferent, but he was also quite meticulous about observing the people around him.

    “Victor is kind.”

As I looked up at him and spoke, Victor’s movements suddenly stopped.

Victor didn’t open his mouth anymore.

He came down from the ladder and cleaned it up with a look of annoyance on his face.

The tips of his ears, which could be seen briefly, were dyed red.

    “Can’t you play ball today?”

Shine, who was sitting next to me, asked me.

    I nod my head weakly.

If you don’t finish this, you can’t play.

I looked at the electric field fluctuating around above my hand and opened my mouth wide.

It was so suffocating, like my breath was blocked.

    “Shine doesn’t practice?”

I said, blowing out the air from my puffy cheeks.

    Shine questioned my question.

    “Practice?”

    “Yeah.”

    “Jeff. Look here.”

Shine raised her hand to me.

The gently shaking hands scattered my gaze and took my mind away.

The shaking gaze, at the end of which, Shine’s hand approaches quietly.

    “I succeeded.”

I nod my head at the hand gently caressing my cheek.

Immediately after that, scenes pass by in a flash.

The blue electric field spread across Shine’s hand is vividly imprinted on my mind.

    “Ugh… .”

    “If Jeff succeeds, it’s over.”

    I blushed at her words.

There was nothing he could do better than her.

    Both study and ability.

    Everything was difficult.

In comparison, Shine solved the problems with great ease.

    “Yeah… .”

    “It’s okay, Jeff.”

As if comforting me, gentle hands follow.

    “What? Shine has already succeeded?”

Then, Amy, who was drinking water from behind, came up and asked.

    Shine and I nodded.

    “Amy… .”

    “Jeff yet?”

    “Yes… .”

    “Why are you so sad?”

Amy smiled and patted my head.

A gaze that sways from side to side.

I closed my eyes, not rejecting the feeling of Amy’s hand on my head.

    “Yeah… But it’s too difficult.”

    I muttered, almost whining.

    It’s too difficult.

It was too much of a hassle for me.

    “I’ll help you.”

    Then Shine whispered.

He grabbed my arm and pulled my body towards him.

I didn’t resist her gentle touch and was dragged into her arms.

It felt a little empty without Amy’s touch on my head.

As if to fill that empty space, Shine’s hands gently stroked my hair.

    “How?”

    “Like this.”

The hand that had been sweeping my hair moved gently and grabbed my arm.

The hand that had been sliding down quietly began to wrap around the back of my hand.

The warm warmth seeping between my fingers gives me goosebumps.

I wiggled my toes for no reason.

A tingling feeling welled up in a corner of my chest.

    “Ugh… .”

The breath from behind tickled my cheek.

    “Concentrate.”

    “Uh… Where?”

    “Here at your fingertips.”

    I followed her lead.

    Chijik-

A blue electric current bursting out from the tip of my finger.

A rough movement, completely different from before, follows.

I was startled and tried to pull away, but Shine grabbed my arm and didn’t move.

    “It’s okay.”

A soft voice continues, as if to calm me down.

The warmth I feel from behind relieves my tension.

My body, which had been very stiff, begins to relax.

The current that was raging like a raging bull also calms down.

Movements that change smoothly, following the sound of breathing heard in my ears.

    Smaller, smaller.

The current blooming on the hand changes into the same appearance as Victor had shown.

    “Like this.”

The blue current no longer tries to spread out in all directions.

As if walking on a well-paved road, it repeated certain movements, making it look as if it was standing still.

    ” and… .”

I opened my mouth and my eyes sparkled.

Shine smiled slightly as she looked at me like that.

Immediately after, her hand slowly moves away.

The soft warmth that seeps between my fingers slowly escapes.

I look back at her with an anxious face.

    “Jeff. Focus.”

The electricity that had been flowing through my fingertips began to move in an incongruous manner, as if responding to my emotions.

    But then Shine’s voice followed.

I nodded, focusing on her voice.

    Dismissed-!

But the blue current did not listen to me.

He frowns at the angry movements spreading out in all directions.

    “Shine… .”

As I turned to look at Shine, sobbing, she smiled brightly and grabbed my hand once again.

The warmth that had disappeared returns.

A faint smile comes to my mind at the warmth.

The anxiety disappears in an instant.

As if responding to my emotions, the blue current immediately subsides into silence.

    “It’s okay now.”

    It’s okay now.

I felt like I could do anything with her.

    “What? You finished it already?”

At that moment, Victor, who had returned from putting the ladder in the warehouse, looked at my hand and spoke.

He blinked with a bewildered expression.

    “Yes!”

I held out my hand with a confident expression.

“Did you two do it together?”

    “Then it won’t work…?”

    “Um… .”

Victor folded his arms and slumped down in his chair at my question.

“Of course I have to do it alone.”

At Victor’s words, Shine’s hand slowly withdraws.

When I looked back at her with an anxious gaze, she nodded silently.

It was like he was telling me to believe in myself.

As Shine’s hand fell, and her body that had been touching my back moved away, the blue current flowing over her hand shook uneasily.

I raise my hand with anxious eyes.

Concentrate as much as possible and create the same flow as before.

    A subtle, swaying movement.

But like before, there was no movement running wildly in all directions.

    “Good.”

    Victor nodded.

I sighed in relief at his affirmation and let my concentration drift away.

A blue current that immediately scatters in all directions.

A blue line of light adorned the empty space, disappearing and leaving an afterimage.

    “Can we play ball now?”

    “Okay. Go play.”

Victor nodded in response to Shine’s question.

She immediately grabbed my arm and started running into the corner.

But her face soon turned sour.

There was a ball in the corner.

The problem was that it was a basketball.

Shine, who had a disappointed expression on her face at the hard feel of the ball, threw the basketball with all her might.

    “It’s too hard!”

    Knock knock-

The basketball bounced slightly and rolled, then hit the wall and came back.

I picked up the basketball she threw.

    A fairly heavy feeling.

    And even the firm texture.

It didn’t look like something suitable for Shine and I to play with.

“Victor! Are there any other balls!?”

“It’s in the warehouse, look for it.”

Victor and Amy seemed to be having an important conversation.

They are seen talking while handling documents spread out on the desk with their hands.

It didn’t seem like a situation where I could come all the way to the warehouse to find the ball.

With my small and weak body, I couldn’t play with this ball properly.

If I kicked the ball like I was playing soccer, it felt like my ankle was going to pop out.

I felt like my fingers would break if I played basketball.

It was quite a scary ball.

I threw the basketball away with a disgusted expression.

As Victor said, there were many different types of balls in the warehouse.

    Baseball and soccer ball.

    And even a bowling ball.

Shine said as he looked at the baseball and bowling balls, which were harder than the basketballs from before.

    “This is not a ball.”

As expected, the thing chosen by Shine was a soft rubber ball.

A rubber ball with an attractive color like a red apple.

Shine ran outside, smiling brightly and holding the rubber ball.
