by fnovelpiaGabe Newell was feeling a little regretful now.
This was because most of the personnel, except for Yoon Yi-seo, were below expectations, and the development process was more difficult than expected.
Still, I could handle that much. I had to pull myself together again…

“AAAHH …
Newell’s heart was eventually broken.
He turned off the editor and left it on. No one said anything to him since they had just heard the scream.
When you’re feeling down because of an error, playing a rhythm game or Doom will reset your spirits.
As long as you do your part of the work well, no matter what you do, you don’t touch it. That was one of the company’s mottos.

Finally, single player is complete.
Single player ‘only’
“You’re here…”
Now it’s time to create multiplayer, which I had put off for a while because I thought it wouldn’t work after trying it out briefly at first.
“Hmm… The moment a network issue occurs, the program will crash in an instant. If data is lost even once, the structure is such that data requests are continuously sent without any waiting time… It’s obvious that you’ve never touched the network side.”
When Newell saw the initial draft, he started to give feedback with harsh criticism. Although I have gained some training from arguing with Linux, it seems that the other team members who received nothing but criticism while making the game are quite deeply hurt.
“Let’s start over from scratch. This is useless.”
New Wall’s Final Attack! The effects were amazing!
Multiplayer has been developed at a much faster pace than before, thanks to Newell’s leadership.
Of course, this is only ‘compared to last time’. There are more coding slaves and game systems have been created, so in a way, it’s natural.
Another big difference was that, contrary to what was initially planned, it only supported multiplayer via LAN.
As always, somehow it worked out!
As if to prove that there is nothing you cannot do if you have the time, money, and coding slaves, KIN has been developed with great success.
“What’s the name of the game?”
There were many different opinions, but the conclusion was the same.
“Good.”
This time, everyone suffered equally.
“Isn’t there something like Doom that gives you a feeling the moment you see the title…”
“Should we just go with the names we gave ourselves? It seems like everyone has a bad naming sense.”
“…I can’t help it. It has to be that way.”
So, the game is complete.

[The Kingdom of Azeroth was a prosperous human kingdom.]
[Humans transformed the earth into a paradise while living there.]
[The knights of Stormwind and the clergy of Northshire Monastery travel far and wide, serving the king’s people fairly and honorably.]
[A well-trained king’s army has maintained lasting peace for generations.]
[Until the Orc Horde came…]
[No one knew where these creatures came from, and no one was prepared for the horrors they would bring.]
[The warriors wielded axes and spears with perfect skill, and some rode wolves as black as a moonless night.]
[Their evil magic, which originated from the fires of the underworld, had unimaginable destructive power.]
[These two forces, armed with unique weaponry and powerful magic, will clash in a contest of cunning, intellect, and brute force, and whoever wins will rule over all of Azeroth.]
[Welcome to the world of Warcraft.]
***
Warcraft took North America by storm as soon as it hit the market.
It borrowed the separation of narrative and play from Undertale, and developed from there to create a complex game structure that utilized choices and variables rather than simply increasing the difficulty of a simple game, and was well-received in terms of gameplay.
In particular, the fact that it requires the use of the brain rather than just physical strength due to the unit’s compatibility was a bit controversial, but it was generally well-received.
Unit compatibility initially led to attempts to find the ‘perfect unit combination’ through comprehensive production of units, but the results were not very good.
The exquisite ‘perfect combination’ was ruined by the wall of population restrictions.
Most players would just stand there and try to match their unit compositions as best as they can, but… some players were different.
The idea was to send out reconnaissance to break through the primitive fog of battle system, where everything except the area around units and buildings would be completely black and invisible, and then see what the enemy was doing and then set up a ‘build’ to crush them.
As the foundation of RTS was laid, people were starting to realize what a real-time strategy game was.
To quote some reviewers,
[Perfectly ‘designed’]
[“Real-time strategy game”]
[We are at war]
This completely new game took North America and Europe by storm.
It was a bit more expensive than the original at $15, but no one complained.
It was worth it.
KIN raked in money with record sales.
When Newell saw the bonus in his bank account, he stopped regretting it and felt relieved, realizing that his judgment was right.
As expected, the answer to defeating people is money.

KIN, which was listed after meeting the NASDAQ listing requirements to the point of being excessive, was renewing its upper limit price every day.
The term unicorn company has now been abandoned. Only the ultra-large (28 employees) startup IT company KIN remains.
Yoon Ee-seo, who developed the habit of checking her emails carefully, received so many interview request emails that she thought, “Should I just stop checking my emails?”
The dream of having Kim Jung-jun, who at first seemed neat and tidy, become the CEO of a company and then shut himself in to play and produce games at the same time has long since flown away.
“What’s your nickname? I made it up to mean that I’m going to captivate people with my games”
They lie about things they did without thinking and give it some kind of meaning.
“For the time being, we will focus on developing sequels to existing games. The team members are very tired.”
Yoon Yi-seo does her best during the interview, even bringing out team members who only had a little bit of concern.
She was rationalizing herself by saying that she was not being dragged to the hearing…
“Po, Foxy?! J, uh, uh, give me my autograph..!”
“What? Foxy? Oh my gosh, it’s real!”
Even during the interview, I was on the verge of developing misanthropy because of the fans who kept flocking in.
“Ah. I just want to stay in the garage and play with my computer…”
“Stuck in the garage…with the computer or…memories…”
“No, I’m talking to myself. Don’t write it down. No, I told you not to write it down!”
Now it has reached the point where the cries in my heart are slowly leaking out through my mouth.
After the interview, I took public transportation.
“I’m a fan!”
When you get off public transportation,
“I’m a fan!”
When you go in front of the garage,
“I’m a fan!”
Is this… the life of a celebrity…?
Anywhere outside of the garage, spontaneous fans would become quite scary.
“Therefore! Let’s go to a nice building! A building-like place where we can solve everything inside the building!”
This statement is possible because there is an amount of cash in the corporate account that is not even visible at a glance!
To be honest, the garage right now is, what should I say, an abandoned building with some furniture in it.
Something would fall from the ceiling (it was impossible to tell whether it was dust or bugs until we observed it) and even the newbies, including Newell, would be amazed as soon as they arrived, asking if they had created such things in a place like this.
This garage was the building that literally embodied the concept of gloom. It wasn’t cheap for nothing.
Oh? A visualization of a concept. Now that I think about it, it might sound like modern art. Its value will probably increase later, right?
“And! We are also hiring more staff on a large scale!”
“That’s a great idea! Finally, we have less to handle!”
“No? We’re going to split the team and run multiple teams at the same time?”
“Why the heck!!!!!!!!”
Why? Because it’s for my grand dream. Make a game for me.
The reason for this discussion is Foxy, or Yoon Yi-seo’s fans…
[I took a picture]
(A photo of the fan and Yoon Yi-seo together)
I touched Foxy’s hand. I have no regrets even if I die.
– Aren’t you going to call me Nimja? Is Foxy your friend?
– Me…me too! I’ll touch it too!
– Foxy must have been shocked when he first saw the existence of the Horde in reality.
Hey kid, what’s your age?
You’re a Horde user just by looking at the picture
I’m applying for a blockade from a gay guy who eats people with a crossbow. Call me.
…
I will never bother you guys again. I am a real-life Horde.
I lostㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Nah, this is hilariousㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
You said you didn’t do reality check with that body type?
Oh, there was a way
Is your intelligence also a horde?
Haha …
Haha …
[Foxie looked at me!]
(Photo of Yoon Yi-seo looking at the camera)
You have chosen me! You will take me to Valhalla!
-You were just looking at the scenery outside the window!
-Seriously excessive self-consciousness.
They were evolving into fanatics by playing around with each other to the point of excessiveness.
Sometimes, there are even posts that would make Yoon Yi-seo terrified if she saw them.
[Today’s Foxy]
There was even a consistent post uploading pictures of Foxy every day, so that says it all.
Perhaps it’s fortunate that there are almost no anti-fans.
The karma of becoming a celebrity was this terrible.
