by admin“I’m touched that you trusted me so much. But I’m not that desperate for money, so I’ll ask you later when something really urgent comes up.”
Aion looked at the guild leader who answered without a moment’s hesitation and spoke.
The guild leader also smiled kindly at Aion’s words.
“Okay, if you ever need my help, please let me know. I’ll be happy to help you anytime.”
He drank tea, saying that he could always help Aion.
After looking at each other in silence for such a short time, Aion looked at the guild leader and asked.
“So, are there any requests that could make money? I want to do requests that could make more money than the ones left on the bulletin board.”
Aion asked the guild master indirectly why he came to this guild, to make money.
At Aion’s words, the guild leader stroked his chin for a moment and then stood up and headed to his desk.
He said, picking up a piece of paper that was lying on the desk.
“There is a request you are looking for, Adventurer…”
The guild master waved the request form on the desk and brought it in front of Aion.
When the guild master handed it to him, Aion picked up the request without a moment’s hesitation.
“It’s true that they pay ridiculously high amounts of money compared to the requests on the bulletin board. But there’s something fishy about paying this much money for just one monster hunt?”
Aion looked at the request letter he had handed to the guild leader.
Looking at the amount written on the request form, Aion looked surprised and looked at the amount again.
Certainly, the amount written on the request form was not something that Aion had misread or anything, and so Aion was attractive no matter what the request was, but there were a few questionable points in the request form that the guild leader handed over.
First of all, the amount of money is so high that it seems absurd, and the absurdity of giving so much money for a simple mission of subduing monsters.
That’s why Aion guessed that there was something fishy behind this request, and the guild master sighed and said after seeing Aion’s expression.
“As you may have noticed, Adventurer… There are many strange things about this quest. It’s just hunting monsters, but the amount is strangely high. And it feels suspicious…”
The guild leader looked at Aion’s expression and sighed deeply.
Aion thought there was something he knew about the guild leader’s face, which looked full of worry, and asked him.
“Can you tell me exactly what the quest is? I think there are more than one or two strange parts. I think the guild leader knows something, but could you at least tell me?”
Aion said, confident that he knew something.
At Aion’s words, the guild leader clenched his fist without saying anything and then began to speak.
“First of all, this request is not a simple monster subjugation request.”
“Then what kind of request is it?”
As if Aion’s intuition was right, the guild leader readily admitted that this quest was no simple one and soon began to unravel the stories surrounding the quest.
“It was a few days ago that things really started to happen. Originally, it was a remote area where no one had ever been, so it was a place where outsiders rarely visited, except for merchants and hunters who gathered herbs. But recently, rumors have been going around that an incredibly strong monster has been coming out of the area.”
“A ridiculously strong monster?”
“Yes.. A while ago, a herbalist and a merchant climbed the mountain together to gather herbs, but there were corpses of beasts that were presumed to be monsters forming a mountain, and more than anything, a pungent smell of blood was coming from somewhere in the mountain.”
“The smell was so strong that it paralyzed their noses, and at the same time, they felt a chill rushing down the mountain, and fortunately, there were no casualties. However, adventurers from other regions who went to the scene after receiving their report returned with serious injuries or were unable to return, and strange phenomena were occurring, so another guild took on the task to rescue the adventurers.”
“…….”
“It’s strange. Their testimony clearly states that the monster’s corpses were piled up like a mountain. And the adventurers who went into the mountain to find out the truth of the incident were injured and disappeared. This is not a simple matter. ”
“I definitely think there’s something ridiculously strong there. That’s why I kept it because I thought that if I put this request on the bulletin board, adventurers who can’t think rationally for a huge amount of money would suffer.”
The guild master told Aion everything that had happened, and only then was Aion able to learn the truth of the incident.
They had asked for his assistance because all the monsters in the vicinity had been found as cold corpses due to an unknown creature that had appeared some time ago, and adventurers who had gone out to explore were also suffering damage.
“Their circumstances are truly unfortunate, but there is nothing we can do about it. We cannot send our precious adventurers to their deaths to subdue something we do not even know the identity of.”
However, the guild leader, who knew the whole story in advance, secretly kept it in case casualties occurred in his guild as well.
As Aion slowly reconsidered the guild leader’s words, a flash of light flashed through his mind and information about someone came to mind.
“Could you please tell me what the unidentified monster that was defeated looked like?”
Aion asked, recalling a figure that had crossed his mind.
The guild leader answered Aion’s question by recalling his memories.
“I didn’t get a detailed report of the dead monsters, but according to the information they gave me, they died in different ways. In the case of one monster, the upper and lower body were separated by something sharp, and in the case of another monster, the entire body was found to have turned blue, as if it had an infection in its throat.”
After the guild leader finished speaking, Aion looked at him with a confident face and said.
“Then I will try to do that request.”
“Are you saying this yourself, Adventurer?”
“Yes. I will go and check it out myself.”
Aion spoke with confidence in his voice.
The guild leader saw Aion like that, but he looked worried and asked him something.
“Are you sure it’s okay?”
The guild leader looked at Aion’s face and asked.
Aion stared at the guild leader’s actions, but it was not that the guild leader did not trust Aion.
“I also don’t think that the Aion Adventurer will be defeated. However, if you are going to go on a subjugation for me, then you don’t have to.”
“The opponent is an unidentified monster that even the adventurer may not know. They also haven’t been able to find a single clue, let alone find the entity that is the cause of the incident. If the adventurer goes there and something goes wrong… Above all, you’re not alone anymore.”
The guild leader looked at Aion with genuine concern.
Aion looked at him as if he was convinced by his actions.
Of course, Aion also knew what kind of state of mind he was in when he said those words. Aion was one of the strongest adventurers in the guild, and many people visited the guild solely because of his name and reputation. If something bad happened to him, it would not be a joke, but the credibility of the entire guild could be lowered.
That’s why the guild leader looked at him and said, worried that he might lose the card called Aion.
“Don’t worry. I won’t die or anything while sleeping.”
Aion looked at the guild leader as if he had already decided to go there.
The guild leader looked into Aion’s eyes.
After a while, he shook his head as if he had no other choice.
“If that’s what the adventurer thinks, then there’s nothing I can do…”
“Are you going to tolerate it that easily?”
Aion asked, surprised by the guild leader’s thoughts that were quicker than expected.
“It’s not like I told you not to do it, but you always had the same face as you do now before going on an adventure.”
The guild leader looked at Aion’s face and answered.
“I also know that you, Adventurer, won’t die so easily. So I hope you can live up to my expectations.”
The guild leader greeted Aion with a kind smile.
So he took the request letter the guild leader had given him and hurriedly walked to where the monster was said to be.
