Chapter Index

The man with the gray belt continued to cast spells diligently while fending off the fierce attacks of the cheetah.

Suddenly, with a strange sound, a large cluster of light in front of the man converged into a tiny point.

    “Eat this!!”

In an instant, aiming for the man’s heart, a flash of light was fired with a thunderous roar.

However, the cheetah swiftly dodged the attack, taking advantage of the distance between them.

Seizing the opportunity, the man with the gray belt quickly stood up and calmly adjusted his breathing as a similar light formation as before appeared in front of him.

With strange noises, the light formation compressed into a point.

    Boom!

The compressed light exploded into sharp spear-like beams flying towards the cheetah.

As the explosion echoed, the sharp sound of bullets pierced through the air.

The cheetah agilely dodged the man’s attack, showing intelligence in distinguishing between harmless and damaging attacks.

Although already dead, the man with the red collar could still inflict damage on the cheetah if he reached a certain level.

If it were Dakota, he might have been able to engage or even win against the cheetah.

The situation of helplessly sucking his fingers was frustrating.

Regaining some composure, the man with the gray belt surrounded himself with a suit of light armor. With a sound resembling an electric car accelerating, the light enveloped his body rapidly.

Then, reaching out towards the panting cheetah, the man unleashed a barrage of flashes like a machine gun from his five fingers.

    “Kyaaah!!”

The cheetah screamed as it ran in all directions. The ground cracked and sand and gravel flew around as the flashes hit the dry earth.

Despite the onslaught of flashes, the cheetah skillfully dodged them and steadily closed the distance towards the man, displaying remarkable focus.

The light stopped emanating from the man’s hands, and his relaxed demeanor vanished.

It was the moment of opportunity.

The cheetah crouched, preparing for a powerful leap.

    Thud!

Like a cheetah pouncing on its prey, the cheetah swiftly charged towards the man.

    “Gotcha.”

The light armor surrounding the man condensed rapidly in front of his hands.

    Zing!

    “Eeeek!!!”

Countless shining blades pierced through the cheetah’s body as it fell to the ground, blood gushing out.

The man looked down at the fallen beast and let out a sigh of relief.

    “That was close.”

With a soft breath, the man slowly reached out towards the fallen cheetah.

Like gathering water droplets, particles of light in front of the man’s hand began to converge into a single point.

As the light point was about to be released, the cheetah slowly raised its head to look at the man.

“The balance of the mage position is too messy. I resign.”

    “What…?”

Before the man could react to the cheetah’s clear statement, several cheetahs that had closed in swiftly attacked him from behind.

    “Argh…!”

Suddenly, the man who was caught from behind by the salamanders fell to the ground. While the man was focusing on the humanoid monster in front of him, the creatures approached stealthily, hiding their footsteps.

The man urgently deployed a defensive magic. The light that had been condensed in his hand disappeared, swiftly enveloping his body, but the salamanders continued to bite his shoulders or leave wounds on his back even as their bodies were shattered by the light bullets.

The bigger problem was that the salamanders kept charging at him.

The man had to focus all his energy on dealing with the salamanders while maintaining the automatic defense magic. The creatures attacked him in packs, like wild dogs or wolves.

    “…Damn it.”

In the meantime, the figure rose.

Slowly, step by step, it approached the man.

Unable to do much against the approaching monster while dealing with the swarming salamanders, the man could only sweat profusely in despair.

    “Damn it, damn it…!”

Swearing, the humanoid monster pushed back its arms and shoulders.

    In the next moment.

    With a sharp sound.

    “Gah…!”

Sharp claws pierced the man’s abdomen.

With a short groan from the man’s mouth, red blood gushed out.

The monster, with a gleeful smile, inserted the remaining claw into the man’s abdomen, causing him to groan in pain once again.

Lifting the man with the salamanders still hanging from various parts of his body, the figure slowly raised him up.

And in mid-air, the monster forcefully brought down the two arms it had plunged into the man’s abdomen.

    Crack!!

The sound of flesh tearing echoed as the man’s body was torn apart and scattered in all directions.

Due to the cold night air, steam rose from the intestines spilled on the ground from the man’s abdomen.

…Now it’s our turn for real.

“Ael, how many weapons do we have that are suitable for use on the tablet right now?”

Lager, holding the halberd in a defensive stance, asked while scanning the area.

Upon Lager’s question, Ael quickly took out the tablet and checked the list of drawings.

“We have two sniper rifles, two submachine guns, and two pistols.”

“Is that all? Don’t we have something more powerful to deal with multiple enemies at once?”

    “Like what?”

    “A nuclear bomb…”

    “Are you kidding?”

Seeing Lager sweating profusely, it seemed that he was not joking.

How could they fire a nuclear bomb? If we were to seriously consider using one, there would be so many procedures to prepare for it. Weapons with great power all have their own constraints when it comes to usage.

As Ael grumbled in his mind, at that moment.

“Hey, we do have something like that.”

    “What is it?”

An incredibly easy-to-draw weapon with immense power, almost instantly rechargeable, boasting the best destructive power for the effort put in.

    “A grenade.”

Although Lager seemed a bit disappointed, he casually dismissed the ignorant Ael, then quickly drew a grenade from his memory, showing it to him.

    “Take a good look.”

Just as the salamanders were charging towards them, Lager pulled the safety pin and threw the grenade. At the same time, he shouted to Ael to lie down on the ground.

    “Get down like me!”

Lager lay down on the ground, belly flat, looking terrified.

    Kaboom!!

With a deafening noise, the salamanders rushing towards them were torn apart in all directions, splattering blood.

The look of awe appeared on Lager’s face as he encountered the deadly weapon of the Korean army.

    “Is it really that powerful?”

    “Never underestimate a grenade again.”

After confidently declaring this, Lager got up, brushed off the dirt, and was about to take out his tablet when suddenly everything went dark before his eyes.

When he looked up, a humanoid monster had crouched down and leaped towards him in an instant, hovering above his head.

    “You’re the strongest one here.”

With those words, claws flew towards his abdomen.

Just as Lager sighed and felt a chill down his spine, a loud clang echoed.

“That guy is really weak, huh? I must have picked the wrong target.”

Lager extended his halberd just in time to defend against the attack.

As I sat frozen in place, Lager advised me, “You take care of the tigers. And make sure to draw plenty of those grenades or whatever in the meantime.”

    “What about you?!”

With no time to spare, the monster swung its claws at me. Lager raised his halberd to block the attack, then quickly grasped the spear and swiftly stabbed and slashed in all directions in an attempt to strike back.

Dodging Lager’s attacks with agility, the monster managed to evade them all and created some distance between us.

Dodging means the attack is effective.

Knowing this well, Lager adjusted his grip on the spear and shouted, “He’s quite tough too! I’ll handle him, so you focus on drawing!”

The odds were not in Lager’s favor, but it wasn’t a losing battle either.

I nodded and began to focus on drawing.

If I wanted to save him, I had to do what I could.
