Chapter Index

After eating breakfast and drinking the nourishing tonic I received from Kailon, I walked to the forest leading north from here.

Even though it was a forest, there was a path leading to it, as if people were looking for something inside, and all you had to do was walk along the path.

Perhaps there is a huge bug monster digging through the forest at the end of this road.

I had to walk while thinking about that, but my thoughts kept moving to the conversation that took place this morning.

I needed to come to my senses and focus on this situation right away, but maybe it was because I was unnecessarily afraid of the fact that this situation wasn’t leading to the ending I wanted.

Why did I have to be tortured? The answer comes quickly.

Because there was a king who arbitrarily planted my body as an experiment to create a medicine for immortality.

However, the following questions about Kylon lingered in my head.

Although the saint was connected to a major axis in the Holy Kingdom, the king’s arbitrary use of power meant that the Pope was absent, and at the same time, the king was said to be the highest authority in the Holy Kingdom.

If that’s true, what should I say?

Those nuns at the nuns’ training center were all bribed by the king?

I can be suspicious, but I also thought that I might be suspicious of the person who was wronged.

However, once there was no doubt, the Pope and the King had the same meaning, so even that couldn’t be said to be a particularly good situation.

Once Kylon clears the game, if he does not see the Pope, the Pope will not return to the Holy Kingdom until the Demon King is captured.

If so, how long will he be absent?

After thinking about it like that, I felt strange for some reason.

There is no way in the Holy Kingdom that the Pope is absent. If he is absent for such a long time, he must have gone out due to diplomatic issues. But the fact that he does not return until the Demon King is captured, perhaps the starting point of the Pope’s return is because the hero did something?

    Then how?

Will Kailon, who seems to have only seen the standard normal ending because he only cleared it once, know this starting point? That wasn’t it.

In that case, you have to somehow find out what you don’t know and summon the Pope, but even though it’s diplomacy, you don’t know where it went, so it was a priority to know that first.

My head throbbed, but my thoughts didn’t stop.

Even though my eyes were moving towards the forest I was walking towards, my mind was still calculating something.

I felt like I was becoming mentally exhausted.

There was so much to do, my body was one, and I was helpless, so I could only sigh.

“… To explain yesterday’s strategy again, the goal is for us, Flora and Saint Veronica, to stand in the battle line holding shields coated with this sticky liquid and deal with the bugs.”

In the midst of their chatting voices, Kailon’s serious voice broke the atmosphere again.

Agnes and Linda nodded at his briefing that they had to be more alert now, and Flora reluctantly nodded as if she understood.

And something that I hadn’t seen before popped out as if it was from Kylon’s inventory. It was a shield covered in the slime that bugs hate, and one was given to Flora and one to me.

It seemed like a shield was given to the rear row that was supposed to be protected.

I thought to myself, “I’m not going to die anyway, so there’s no need to spend money on something like this,” but then I realized that I don’t even like bugs anymore, but they were big bugs, so I quickly decided to accept them with gratitude.

As I put my arm through the leather strap attached to the back of the shield and held it tightly with my hand, holding it forward to protect myself, the others’ steps slowly slowed down.

I could even hear a crunching sound as I moved slowly to check my surroundings.

    “… Everyone, focus.”

I’m nervous, but there’s only one thing I have to do.

If anyone got hurt, I would throw the potion from my bag.

Since I was not given a weapon, my right hand, which was not holding a shield, was aimed at the potion in my bag.

Should I say that the tension is a little different from that of others who have to engage in battle?

My heart was pounding for no reason at the thought that I had to act quickly before others died because their bodies were different from mine.

    It’s always like this.

If given an important position, whether it’s a game or something else, would I be able to do it well? I have such questions, and I end up doubting myself.

However, just because I don’t want to do it doesn’t mean I can’t do it, so in the end, I just had to overcome that anxiety.

And at the same time, a huge bug jumps out of the forest.

A spider that looked like it could easily eat a human and was about 3 meters tall crawled along, moving its huge, furry legs.

It didn’t seem like a spider spinning a web, but given its vicious appearance, it didn’t seem like it needed a web.

Yes, it seemed like if I were to use it, I would use poison instead of spider silk.

I felt overwhelmed by its height of just 3 meters and its size, like several trucks packed together.

However, even though Kylon saw the appearance of a monster that evoked such fear, he quickly grabbed his sword and raised it.

    “Flora!”

    “I know even if you don’t say it… !”

    The first player is Flora.

She swung the staff she held in her right hand sharply in accordance with Kylon’s instructions. Then the jewel at the tip of the staff glowed brightly and vomited out magical power.

    “Fireball!”

At the end of the magic circle drawn by magic power is a fireball. It’s simple, but perhaps showing that the difference in power can be even greater, the magic that emits hot heat quickly shoots out and flies towards the spider.

    Quang!

Even though it was a fireball, its inherent explosive power revealed its power and cut off two of the spider’s legs.

At the same time, crackling flames began to spread as if burning the fur all over the spider’s body and devouring the surrounding fur.

Then the roar of a spider screaming.

    -Keeek!

But without stopping at that, Agnes to the left and Linda to the right quickly approached.

Agnes’ elegant swordsmanship must have stabbed the sword multiple times in an instant, creating a hole in the thick-looking leg, and the slime was dripping out.

Linda’s knuckles seemed to have increased her attack power, making a loud noise every time she struck the spider’s leg.

And in the meantime, I watched with my eyes wide open as he held his sword and gathered light towards the monster in the center that was trying to spit out poison.

    “Kylon!”

Linda’s panicked voice continued, and even after hearing it, Kailon turned his body without moving and shot out the light.

    Kwazizig.

The blade of light fired by Kylon cut off the four legs attached to the spider, leaving the spider with only two legs left, the two on the left.

However, the monster spat out poison and screamed as if it would fight until the end.

    -Keee!

After stamping his foot, Kylon’s body leaped lightly and dodged the purple poison spewed out by the spider.

I was shocked to see the strong poison melting the ground as soon as it hit the ground.

Isn’t this a mountain? Just as I was getting nervous at the thought, I felt like the forest was suddenly shaking.

    “Three more!”

It was almost as if the mother had already been caught.

When Kylon said that, Agnes and Linda nodded and moved to block the spiders that would come out of the forest, while Flora rolled her eyes next to me, trying to carefully catch the remaining one.

It certainly might have been a difficult opponent to face alone. Still, I looked at Kailon, who had gone to cut down the mother body, thinking that he was able to capture it so easily because he had gathered his friends in the first place.

Agnes’ rapier stabbed the spider brilliantly here and there, draining its bodily fluids so that it could not sustain life as a living creature.

Linda’s powerful fist split the leg and struck the body, causing internal rupture and killing the spider.

The moment Flora’s wand flashed, a series of lightning crackled in a line and heated up the spider.

Everyone had their own roles, and it was Kylon who took on the toughest job.

Without knowing what his job as a warrior was, he just swung his sword across the screen. And defeat the monster. He must be the one who just fights after hearing that one word.

Seeing them fighting so well, I couldn’t help but admire them.

The moment he cut open the mother spider’s abdomen and killed it, the small spiders also let out a scream like “Keeek”, but it wasn’t long before they were attacked by other women and died.

    And Kylon.

    “… Ugh. Ugh… !”

Perhaps because it had cut its stomach open to kill a spider, it was covered in purple liquid and groaning due to the acidic poison inside its body.

I vigorously shook my head, which instantly turned white, and immediately reached into my bag, took out a potion, and ran to him.

    “Are you okay? Drink this.”

I popped the lid off and looked at him groaning in a collapsed position.

And immediately I pushed the bottle into his mouth and he drank it down in one gulp.

“Wow, I didn’t know this would be this effective.”

    “… Haha.”

He quickly emptied a bottle and smiled bitterly, saying something I couldn’t tell if it was a compliment or something.

Seeing that, I just gave a dry smile.

At that moment of silence, it was Linda who broke the silence.

    “Kylon! Are you okay?!”

“Really, you don’t have to overdo it.”

And I could see Agnes approaching, responding to Linda’s words with a gentle smile.

Flora is walking slowly from far away.

Linda passed me and quickly approached Kailon, turning her head here and there to check his condition.

The armor was a little worn, unlike in the game, but it seemed to have held up well, perhaps because it was made of good material.

As I watched Linda from a distance away, clinging to Kylon and asking him if he was okay, Kylon smiled and said that he was okay and got up.

The next words were instructions announcing the continuation of the battle.

“I’m fine. Rather, now that the predator that was threatening the ecosystem is dead, other bug monsters will attack.”

    “Ugh… I really hate it.”

At Kylon’s words, Flora held on tightly to the shield on her arm as if she was disgusted and pushed forward to block herself.

“It’s okay. Let’s not hurt each other.”

Despite Flora’s complaints, Kylon responded with a smile and at the same time appealed to the heroines around him to like her.

Then there was Linda, who seemed to respond that her favorability rating had risen.

“Kylon, take care of your body too! Taking risks because of us… ”

    There was Agnes.

“ Perhaps because Kylon is a warrior, he has a spirit of chivalry.”

    Yes, seduce me, seduce me.

Looking at Linda, who seemed to be already smitten, and then Agnes, who was about to fall in love with her, I could see that the strategy collection paper I had received from Kailon was really fitting.

Isn’t it written in order of difficulty rather than strategy order? I also thought about it.

As I reorganized myself again and got up, I noticed a group of other large insects coming from the path we had passed.

It wasn’t as big as the spider before, but seeing bugs the size of 30% of a person swarming around didn’t seem like a good sight, so I narrowed my eyes.

    life… .

As I faced the insects, I just adjusted my shield so that they wouldn’t attack me.
