Chapter Index

    If you think about it.

I have never learned swordsmanship properly.

I gave up on this not because I was particularly lazy, but because it did not suit my aptitude.

It’s the same as a wizard devoting himself to learning and researching magic without necessarily learning swordsmanship, and an archer learning only the bare minimum of swordsmanship to hone his archery skills.

However, since I had no one to be my teacher, I was just finding a way in my own way.

I have no talent for swordsmanship. This is a certain fact. Swinging a sword to release sword energy and drawing up magical power to surround the body of the sword with an aura is the realm of ‘talent’. Simply swinging a sword does not cause sword energy to go out, and holding the sword tightly does not create an aura. It is not surrounded.

And our family mainly used ‘sword energy’. It was inevitable since they were half-breed giants whose magic power itself was the opposite.

Of course, our family members were able to cut through any opponent’s keyboard with just that sword.

I, too, can hold a sword and swing it. I somehow learned how to stab or block. However, I have never succeeded in throwing sword energy. After finding out that I had talent as a druid, I hoped that I could at least use it, but it was impossible.

After I realized that fact, I completely gave up swordsmanship, and my family never said anything to me about that fact—

    “… … .”

    “… … .”

No, I didn’t know I was this strong.

Apparently, in the medieval fantasy world, ‘swordsmanship’ and ‘strength’ were separate things.

The eyes of the prince, who was looking at the sword that flew out of his hand with a blank expression, somehow sparkled. Human eyes were originally moist with moisture, so I could have thought that they looked that way because they reflected the surrounding light, but for some reason, I ended up thinking it was because of tears.

And only now did I think about why the prince did not give up on sparring with members of our family even after hearing them turn down the offer and tell him to go to me, the only woman in the family.

    Uh, I don’t know.

I don’t know why a 10-year-old kid would ask adult men from a good family to spar, even though he was second to none in terms of swordsmanship skills.

At best, it would be understandable if he just wanted to scold me because he was in a bad mood, but if he came all the way from above and came all the way to me… …

    “Let’s do three, three rounds!”

Before the silence got any heavier, I quickly shouted.

The faces of the people who had been silent with heavy expressions all turned towards me.

“I heard that in the original battlefield, losing or winning was determined by factors independent of skill. The prince lived in a warm area, so it could be said that he suddenly came to such a cold area and moved his body, and his condition never returned. .So, in order to know a person’s complete swordsmanship skills, I think that an objective evaluation can be made by competing at least three times. Sparring is not about actual fighting skills, but about seeing and interacting with the other person’s skills.”

    I kept saying bullshit.

It would have been plausible if the same sound had come out of the mouth of my father, brothers, or at least my mother, but I was the only one in this family who had given up swordsmanship. It would be difficult to say that the sound coming from the mouth of such a person was logical or made sense.

    “Yeah, that’s right.”

But my father accepted my words.

Anyway, it’s just my opinion. It’s something I made up, but it’s not a lie. So, as a family member, it was something that could be accepted as ‘respecting my words’.

“That’s correct. The original purpose of sparring is no different from having a conversation. If you compete while one of you is not in good physical condition, you won’t be able to know each other’s true feelings. I think it would be better to postpone sparring until a later date.”

It seemed like my father decided to follow my excuse.

    “… … .”

I thought the prince might reject that and get angry, but he just kept his head down and his fists clenched.

The knights next to him spoke to the prince with sweat beading on their foreheads.

“Prince, that’s right. You haven’t recovered from your illness yet, and it will take some time to get used to it.”

“… … But the enemy won’t wait for me to prepare.”

    “… … .”

Hearing the prince speak in a very different tone from the last time I heard him speak, the knight kept his mouth shut.

    It’s definitely not wrong.

Although sparring was treated as a friendly match where you got to know your opponent by exchanging things, in the end, if you lost there, you lost. People who watched the sparring said, ‘That person was not in a good condition today, so this is an unfair sparring.’ For this to work, one side must be really clearly in pain.

Moreover, this couplet is the one the prince requested in the first place. If you say ‘I wasn’t in a good condition’ in that state, your pride will be buried somewhere in the deep sea, let alone the ground.

Moreover, the prince is a member of the royal family whose pride is the most important thing.

So, I don’t understand anymore. Why did the prince ask the members of our family to spar with each other? It’s obvious that he will get angry anyway.

    “… … Yes, I want to apply!”

But we cannot just ignore this situation.

No matter how much support the family receives from the Grand Duke, the Delki family is ultimately a male family.

If you think that the royal family will openly disadvantage you, there is no answer in many ways. After all, we are paying taxes to the royal family, not the Grand Duke.

But that doesn’t mean we can abandon this territory.

“You won the spar and want to apply for a re-spar?”

The prince raised his head and looked at me.

Although he was glaring at me fiercely, as I expected, his eyes were moist and he was still a ten-year-old, so I wasn’t that scared.

I was even more scared of the family behind it.

There was a thought that the King might try to lock us out just because of the prince’s feelings, and I knew that this prince would later become the emperor of the next country, not the king, but I couldn’t give a reason to further weaken the already weak family.

Anyway, it was the result of me swinging the sword without thinking.

“Wow, I want to get to know you and the prince a little better! The time to get to know each other is too short with this short swordplay!”

    “… … .”

    silence.

A heavy silence fell in the sparring hall.

I know very well that what I said was absurd. There was a reason for it a little while ago, but this is just a waste of money.

However, I had never had a political conversation in my life. I had to use it like this to get over this sparring.

My father was looking at me with his mouth open blankly, but I looked straight at the prince, trying not to look in his direction.

The prince was staring blankly at me with his mouth wide open.

    My eyes also got bigger.

… … Were my words that far-fetched? Certainly, the nobles living in the royal capital spoke and acted much more politically than I did, so my words must have seemed incredibly far-fetched.

    “… … .”

The prince looked at me with those eyes and was silent for a while,

Suddenly I spread my shoulders wide.

My face is still bright red.

No, if you spread your shoulders like that, you don’t look manly at all because you’re still a child.

Plus, it’s still a little smaller than Kidona.

    “… … I understand. I can’t refuse the woman’s request.”

And after speaking a little boastfully, the prince turned his head towards his father,

“For now, I will end the first couplet with this. The second couplet… … I will leave it to Lady Delki City’s will.”

“Okay, then let’s end the sparring with this.”

My father said that as the referee in charge of sparring.

So, I was able to get through the first sparring with ease.

    *

    “Grey, ask!”

    “Queen?”

    next day.

When I put my left arm in front of Gray’s mouth and shouted, Gray perked up his ears and looked at me.

Some people say that animals have no facial expressions, but I think that is definitely wrong. The facial expressions of wolves are as diverse as those of humans. However, the face is covered with fur, and the wolf’s face that makes that expression is not a human face, so it is difficult to accurately understand it. I just can’t.

In particular, the shapes of the ears were so diverse that, in fact, I could roughly tell how my emotions were moving just by watching the ears move.

“Hurry up! I told you to ask me until I got tired!”

When I shouted that, Gray tilted his head and—

    “Eh, no, don’t do that.”

It opened its big mouth and licked my face. Thanks to this, my face was completely covered.

“You usually listen so well, but why are you doing this all of a sudden?”

Even though I said that, Gray just licked my face as if he didn’t understand me.

He’s really big and distracting, but he’s just a kid.

Is he really a kid? Actually, in terms of age, he is a lot younger than me.

As I was wrestling with Gray, I heard the sound of the horse’s hooves in the distance.

… … Why are there so many customers these days?
