Chapter Index

Between the lush, snowy white eyelashes that sparkled enchantingly, and the deep golden eyes beneath, nestled beneath smooth, silky cheeks, and a refreshing mouth, to the straight nose bridge and sleek jawline, Dovan, with a chilling smile, thought to himself.

“Ah…! It seems fate has blessed me! To stumble upon an item resembling the useless discarded specimen!”

Although Rian had not yet seen his reflection, he possessed a beauty so strikingly similar to Iris’s brother in the original work that he could lie about it.

“There’s one more thing I need to take care of before going back!”

Forgetting the recent events, he chuckled softly and took a step forward to grab Rian.

    Squelch.

There was a parasite creeping towards Dovan as he moved forward. Dovan stepped on the squishy parasite, causing his foot to slip forward.

    “Oh, what…?”

Time seemed to slow down for him. His vision involuntarily shook, then focused on the ceiling. A sharp pain spread from the back of his head.

    Thud!

    “Ugh…!”

He fell backward, hitting his head.

“Huh?! W-what was that sound just now?”

Rian looked around in confusion. Despite searching the direction from which the sound came, there was nothing that could have made such a noise.

Even the small parasite seemed transparent due to sticking to Dovan’s shoe.

“Is it a sound from somewhere else? Nothing serious must have happened… Hey guys, I’ll go check it out first!”

Worried that something might have gone wrong, Rian bid farewell to the children and rushed out. The two kids also fled in fear of the loud noise.

    “Ugh…”

Dovan groaned while pressing the back of his head, then finally managed to get up. There was a lump the size of a fist growing at the back of his head.

    “Damn brats!”

He swaggered as if he had forgotten the fact that he must hide his existence, spewing curses. Although it was all because of the parasite he had thrown away, the truth did not matter to Doban.

“Only gather those materials and kill everything else.”

It seemed that unless he did that, his anger wouldn’t subside. Thinking so, he stuck out his tongue and licked his lips long, at which point, at the edge of his sight, a black light twinkled. The dark magic indicating the direction of the poisonous plant was still in effect.

“Hmm… First find the poisonous plant, get those materials, turn this place into a field of mugwort, and then escape.”

He muttered to himself and started moving forward, chasing after the black light. At the end of his steps, he arrived at a spacious kitchen.

The black light spun around on a glass bottle placed on one side of the kitchen.

    “Hmm, did I hear wrong?”

Having thoroughly checked every nook and cranny of the house, there was not a single place where a loud noise could be found. He thought hard, rolling his head lightly.

“Did Mia make a big noise while experimenting?”

Mia had said there would be no separate experiments today as she needed to prepare for a new experiment.

Perhaps it wasn’t a big noise from an experiment. Other than that, there was nothing else he could infer.

    “I’ll ask her later.”

Thinking so, he moved towards the kitchen. He had to prepare a meal.

    “What should I prepare today?”

Since Mia had brought back good meat and vegetables from her outing, he could prepare a sumptuous meal. However, he didn’t intend to do so.

“I can’t use them recklessly when I don’t know when the ingredients will run out!”

Mia not only ensured that the ingredients were plentiful but also sourced some through the gag filter, but since he had more than just one or two mouths to feed, he couldn’t predict when they would run out.

“Meat goes bad quickly, so I should use it generously.”

Thinking of grilling meat after a long time, he entered the kitchen.

    Rolling.

    “Uh?”

At that moment, a rolling sound was heard. When I turned my gaze, the glass bottle containing tea leaves, which had been placed to one side, had fallen over.

    “Why did it fall over?”

    Were the kids playing around?

I approached the fallen bottle in order to stand it up. As I reached for the bottle, I accidentally nudged it.

The bottle was about to roll and fall to the ground. Desperately, I crouched down and caught the bottle.

    Thud!

    “Phew, that was close.”

Internally relieved, I stood up and placed the tea bottle back where it originally was.

“Oh, I should put it away since the kids might touch it again.”

I took the bottle I had just put down and stepped back two paces. It was to consider where to put it.

“It would be better to place it on a high shelf, right?”

It seemed like a good idea to put it on the upper shelf.

As Lian pondered where to place the tea bottle, Doban struggled for breath in a disheveled state.

    “Cough, cough… darn it…”

There is a scene commonly found in comedy anime.

When someone with ill intentions tries to attack another person, they end up being thwarted by fate, stumbling due to a flyer flying into their face, or slipping when attempting to strike the other person from behind, only to be hit by their own fist.

Even if someone with ill intentions ends up in a mess on the ground, the other person remains oblivious and continues with their business as usual.

If someone with ill intentions falls apart on the ground, the person who almost fell victim passes by, looking at the person with ill intentions with a surprised expression.

It was one of the commonly used repertoires.

Doban, despite rolling all over the floor and struggling, couldn’t get through to Lian.

“This time, I’ll definitely catch and talk to her!”

Doban, with a sudden sense of urgency, jerked his shoulders roughly. His neatly arranged hair was disheveled, and reddish-purple bruises, as if from various collisions, were scattered here and there.

He was very angry because of something that had happened just a little while ago.

At the moment when Lian entered the kitchen, Doban was startled by the sudden movement and ended up dropping the tea leaf jar. Belatedly realizing that it was Lian who had entered the kitchen, he thought that things were not going as planned.

    “Why is that knocked over?”

When he saw Lian approaching to set the tea leaf jar upright, he thought everything was over. He already envisioned his splendid masterpiece in front of him.

As Lian approached close enough to touch, after casting a suppression spell on his hand, Doban reached out to Lian. The moment Doban’s hand was about to strike Lian!

    Clatter.

    “Ah!”

To catch the falling jar, Lian quickly lowered her body.

    Swoosh!

    “Huh…?”

Because of this, Doban’s arm swung roughly through the air. His desire to possess Lian, as rough as it was, filled his arm with strength, but the swinging recoil overwhelmed his body, tapping Doban twice.

    Rustle!

Black chains began to appear and wrap around his body. The chains wound tightly around his entire body, even covering his mouth.

    “Ugh…!”

He writhed like a bowling pin, his body convulsing. In an unexpected situation, Doban’s face contorted grotesquely.

His eyes bulged out, blood vessels bursting.

    “Dismantle!”

He quickly dismantled the magic and barely managed to stand up. Lian had already put the tea leaf jar back in its original place.

“Phew, huff… This time for sure!”

He rushed toward Lian in great excitement. At that moment, Lian took two steps back, and his arms swung through empty space.

    “…!”

His body leaned forward in that state. His lower body was weak, and his upper body’s arms were heavy, causing his weight to shift forward, starting to fall forward and roll.

    “Thud!”

His body rolled and stopped, hitting the wall with his face. Now was the time to barely get up from his place after shaking his body.

    “This time, I absolutely – … absolutely won’t make a mistake!”

In his excitement, he struggled foolishly to grab Lian, but he was a dark wizard. He was used to casting spells from a distance.

Pointing his wand at Lian, he conjured a torture spell into the air.

“Since you’ve insulted me like this… you must pay the price.”

When she foamed at the mouth and fainted from pain, that would be the moment to step in and move her. Dovan wickedly completed the dark magic. As he waved his wand, the magic flew.

    “Yo!”

Mia’s guest who had been speaking in the kitchen had arrived.

    “Oh? Lady Rania?”

Lian looked in the direction of the voice with a surprised expression. Rania, who had approached silently, was sniffing around Lian.

    “No… nooo…”

Dovan began to feel each minute and second as if they were decades. He wanted to stop the magic right away, but his raised arm couldn’t stop, and there was no way to dismantle the completed flying magic.

    Shoooo…

    “Muuuust stoooop…!”

Dovan’s voice echoed slowly, and the magic shot towards Lian. More precisely, it was aimed at Rania standing next to Lian.

Dovan was now even dripping snot, wearing an astonished expression. His magic was about to reach Rania.

    “…”

    “Thud..!”

In the slowed time, Rania looked towards Dovan. It was a natural movement, as if she didn’t feel the passage of time.

    Shoosh!

Rania lightly waved her hand as if shooing away a buzzing insect.

    Plop!

The magic flying towards Rania and Lian bounced off.

    “Grrrk..!”

The deflected magic rebounded directly into Dovan’s neck.

    “Gyaaaaah!”

Doban screamed and fell down, foaming at the mouth.
