Chapter Index

Today, I hung out with a friend.

    It was really fun.

    The end.

If only life were this simple.

“Why is there no one at the movie theater?”

Eujin, who brought a jumbo popcorn, was genuinely bewildered.

To be honest, it was a bit strange from the start.

The way to the theater entrance was fine.

The stimulating scent of savory popcorn.

A subtly dim atmosphere that could make you feel like dozing off.

I was worried that the movie theater in this world might be different somehow.

But it turned out to be just an ordinary theater.

That thought was shattered before I even took a few steps.

What felt truly odd was when we entered the screening room.

Inside, there wasn’t a single customer.

“Could it be that this movie isn’t popular?”

Worried, I checked, but it was definitely the right movie.

A romance film highly anticipated in the first half of the year.

    “Clementine.”

It was rated highly as a remarkable piece that was expected to draw millions of viewers.

    – This is by no means a 1-star rating; it’s my desire to give it 11 stars.

    – The monitor cried, the external hard drive cried, even the hidden virus cried.

    – If you haven’t seen this movie, you’re holding onto one reason to stay alive.

    – In the film industry, there’s BC and AC. Before Clementine, After Clementine…

Praise overflowing just from reading the reviews!

So, without any hesitation, I had made a reservation.

“How can such a movie have no audience on a weekend? Is someone secretly filming us?”

Is a movie theater supposed to be like this?

I’ve never been here before, so I don’t really know.

It’s not a place where nerds would come.

Anyway, I sat in the seat assigned on the ticket.

And Eujin was once again taken aback.

    “…Is this the right place?”

    “Uh, yeah. It is.”

Contrary to common chairs, the seats were connected in pairs.

They were a passionate red color and oddly heart-shaped.

    The width was somewhat ambiguous.

It was spacious for one person, but a bit snug for two to sit together.

At least it looked much more comfortable than regular chairs.

“Could this be the VIP seat they talked about?”

Secretary Park said she had arranged it.

Seems like she picked out a nice spot.

It’s good to be born with a silver spoon.

“Oh, so this is how VIP seats are in movie theaters these days. My knowledge has expanded once again.”

Honestly, since the seat is spacious, it probably doesn’t matter where you sit.

But it’s best to sit in your designated seat if you can.

It would be uncomfortable if the rightful owner showed up late.

Eujin went in and sat closer to the inside.

Consideration to let women sit closer to the restroom!

Apparently, this is important to trendy people these days.

    “Let’s sit.”

“Uh, yeah. Should we really sit here?”

    “Why? Don’t you like it?”

    “No, no. It’s fine…”

Yeonghee cautiously sat next to me.

From this angle, we were quite close.

Not only could I see her fair skin clearly, but I could even feel her faint breath.

Somehow, I started to get nervous.

Well, if it’s nerves, I’ve been feeling them since we first met.

“Choosing a movie was a stroke of luck after all.”

If it had been somewhere else, my mind would have gone blank on what to say.

I tried to focus on the theater screen ads while eating popcorn.

But this time, the ad was outrageous.

    “What the hell is this?”

On the screen, there was blatantly explicit content playing.

A woman, dressed in a manner that emphasized either what she covered or what she didn’t, was begging the man not to do something.

But the man, mocking her, approached and began caressing her body.

Despite the woman’s protests against his actions, her breathing gradually became rough.

And as they got into it, the man tore her clothes apart.

As things escalated, the woman wrapped her legs around the man’s waist, actively engaging.

“Wow, looking at that outfit, could she be a saint? But how can her chest be that big? Could it be because of that posture? Is this movie theater insane?

It feels like I’m going to lose my mind at the sight in front of me.

Could this be the average in this world…?

If so, what kind of apocalyptic world is this?

Yujin turned her head to look at Yeonghee.

Yeonghee’s face was flushed as if it would burst at any moment.

“Oh, thank goodness. This doesn’t seem normal.”

It’s probably some mistake by the staff.

I don’t know what kind of mistake would make adult videos play instead of ads, but…

Anyway, if it’s a mistake, it should be forgiven.

Yujin didn’t have the courage to complain about weird videos playing in the first place.

    But that’s one thing.

    Awkwardness is awkward.

To lighten the mood, Yujin gathered the hidden aura of an insider deep in her heart and struggled to speak.

“I’m looking forward to the upcoming event.”

    “Ev-event?!”

    “Yeah.”

She had heard that there was a special event after the movie in this world’s movie theaters.

Since it was information from the internet guys, it must be true.

I don’t know what it is, but it seems quite exciting.

“Since it’s a movie theater, maybe they’ll give out prizes or autographs of the actors.”

But Yeonghee’s reaction was somewhat strange.

Clutching her fist tightly, her shoulders trembling, her eyes moist.

As if she was afraid of something imminent.

“This isn’t a horror movie though.”

Come to think of it, she suggested coming to the movie theater without any explanation beforehand.

Hmm, maybe I should have asked if she liked romance movies.

Still, since it’s a movie known for being entertaining, it should be fine.

Meanwhile, the movie started without us realizing.

“Wow, but no one has come in.”

Just the two of us in this dark and spacious place.

I never imagined this situation would happen.

“Hehe, it feels like we’re in a deserted house, I like it.”

I sipped on my cola while watching the actors on the screen.

The movie indeed had an interesting story.

Tears almost welled up when the male and female leads kissed.

At that moment, Yeonghee suddenly stood up from her seat.

“I-I’ll go to the restroom for a moment.”

    “Sure.”

She drank a lot of cola as if she were nervous.

I sat alone, munching on popcorn.

They say you’ll get fined at the movie theater if you don’t finish all your popcorn.

I better eat diligently to finish it before the movie ends.

    ****

    “Sigh, what am I doing?”

Yeonghee sighed as she washed her hands.

She didn’t really want to go to the restroom.

She just needed an excuse to leave her seat.

Originally, she had planned to talk to Yujin today.

Please, just don’t mess with Cheolsu.

    I’ll do anything.

“But without giving me time to talk, he brought me here.”

She knows Yujin sees her as a woman.

But she never imagined he would rent out the entire movie theater.

How much money must he have to afford such a thing?

And to think he made such a lewd video play instead of an ad.

Thinking about it made her face flush again.

“Honestly, what just happened was complete sexual harassment.”

In a dark space, alone with a man, and then a lewd video playing in front of them.

By the time she sensed the atmosphere, it was already too late.

    She felt completely trapped.

Perhaps it was fortunate that he didn’t pounce on her right away.

“But if I had stayed seated, he might have actually approached me.”

That thought scared her, so she ran away.

She could do anything for Cheolsu.

She thought she was prepared for anything.

But she still lacks the resolve.

She doesn’t want to stoop to such shameful acts.

“But I should go back for now…”

She’s scared of what might happen if she runs away.

The movie lasts about 2 hours.”

Enduring that long period of time and not disturbing Yujin’s state of mind is crucial.

Such thoughts crossed Yeonghee’s mind as she exited the restroom.

    “Drip, drip.”

    “Huh? A monster?!”

Before her stood a peculiar creature.

    A round, black shape.

    Its liquid body undulating sluggishly.

    A slime.

The creature that had approached her was writhing unpleasantly.

    However, its condition was peculiar.

    “What… what is that?”

    Monsters could exist anywhere.

Monsters breaking through rifts varied in characteristics.

But such a monster was entirely new to her.

Tentacles on its body were moving creepily.

A jet-black slime, unlike any other slime she had seen before.

“What kind of monster is this?”

“Ah, I need to run away…!”

Yeonghee’s level classified her as a Grade C hero at least.

However, this grade was based solely on her buff and healing abilities.

Consequently, her direct combat skills were considerably lacking.

Yeonghee was a typical support-type ability user, incapable of doing much alone.

In her current weaponless state, she couldn’t guarantee victory even against low-level monsters.

    “There’s… no one around…!”

Yujin, or more precisely, the theater acquired by Secretary Park, had no staff present.

Yeonghee dashed straight towards the exit.

“Ugh! No, I don’t want this! Go away!”

But it was already too late.

The slime swiftly moved and engulfed Yeonghee.

    Covering her face entirely.

    “Ugh! Ugh…!”

Trapped, Yeonghee struggled to push the creature away.

    But it was futile.

The liquid being simply passed through her hands.

At that moment, when she felt like she was about to die.

    “Is it… entering?!”

The slime gradually seeped into her ears and nose.

She could feel something entering her body.

    No, it wasn’t just that.

The slime was encroaching upon her mind.

“Cackle, resist all you want. It’ll make it more enjoyable.”

    “A monster… speaking?!”

    Yeonghee’s eyes widened.

Simultaneously, her instincts as a woman sounded an alarm.

She must not let this monster take over her body.

If she did, terrible things would happen.

Yeonghee tried to resist in any way she could.

However, the slime began directly infiltrating her mind.

“Eek! No, stop! Let go! Don’t do this!”

Her screams faded as the slime gradually took control of her.

As consciousness faded and a floating sensation spread through her body.

It was difficult to maintain composure.

    Feeling indescribable, Yeonghee trembled.

    “No… someone please help… Chulsoo…”

As Yeonghee was about to be completely taken over by the slime.

    “Yeonghee.”

A rough voice echoed through the theater corridor.

    “Is that your pet?”

Yujin, who had suddenly appeared, asked while sipping on a straw.
