Practicing magic.

It may sound simple, but in a way, it was quite a challenging task.

Practicing magic required certain conditions to be met.

It had to be done in a space where there would be no harm even if the magic was activated.

And such spaces were mostly outside of Baruk.

Of course, there were practice spaces within the Baruk 3rd district, but… they were ridiculously expensive.

I did have some money, but it wasn’t enough.

    “Please pay a good amount.”

Even though Sylvia had given me all the money she had, it was still a bit short.

Perhaps it was because I had spent all my money on experiments, leaving me with only 100 gold coins.

Of course, 100 gold coins could last me a year.

But the war with the Demon King wasn’t going to be an easy fight that would end in a year.

Under the Demon King, there were countless demons and monsters.

That’s why I inevitably had to work.

    “It’s annoying.”

I hated working to the extreme, which is why I had lived as a beggar.

Of course, not having the ability to do any work played a part as well.

With those thoughts in mind, I checked the pocket dimension.

There were exactly five items in the pocket dimension.

From the basics of magic to the advanced second volume of magic.

It seemed like Sylvia had put them in the pocket dimension.

Probably meant for me to study.

As much as I wanted to use mana to preserve my body and use all the remaining money for accommodation to last three years… that seemed like too much of a lazy life.

    “It felt a bit unethical.”

And having such talent, living like before was not feasible.

Having talent in magic, not some useless talent like martial arts.

It was a tremendous talent in magic.

So, it seemed best to do something related to magic.

Whether it was entering the Magic Tower or something else.

With those thoughts, I put the book back into the pocket dimension and went outside.

    Chirp chirp-

It was morning, and the sound of birds chirping could be heard.

    Hmm.

It was a good day to look for a job.

    *

So, I went around various places looking for a job.

While looking for a job, I didn’t mention Sylvia’s name.

I didn’t want to cause any trouble.

And there was no reason to mention Sylvia’s name.

Once I completed a simple spell and infused mana, most people would acknowledge my skills on the spot.

I might not say it myself, but I was quite a skilled magician.

Just that my actions didn’t show it.

    Anyway-

“Oh, there’s not a single comfortable place here.”

I had no problem finding a job, but the tasks were too tedious.

I just wanted to do simple work.

Well, it was natural to take on complex tasks.

Knowing how to use magic meant that one’s mind was sharp.

With those thoughts, I aimlessly wandered around.

    And then.

A bustling noise came from inside a building.

    “Hmm?”

I felt like I had heard this noise somewhere before.

Ah, it was the noise of a tavern.

A place overflowing with alcohol and meat.

    So, I cautiously entered.

There might be a job opportunity in a place like this.

    Clink-

As I opened the door and entered cautiously, the bustling noise could be heard.

And there were many people drinking alcohol.

    Women were serving drinks.

And there was a notice board attached to one side.

    “Hmm.”

It seemed like this was the Adventurer Guild.

Where adventurers rank up and receive requests.

Just had to defeat monsters without overthinking.

It seemed like a very comfortable job.

I felt like it would suit me well.

So, I quietly entered and headed towards the counter.

Behind the counter, a woman with golden curly hair was dozing off while guarding the counter.

“Hmm… Should I wake her up?”

    She was sleeping so soundly.

    Should I wake her up?

With that thought in mind, I tapped the table.

    And then-

    “Eek…!”

An employee who immediately rose with a strange sound.

    Probably a receptionist.

So I asked, as kindly as possible, “Oh, can I register as an adventurer?”

    And then-

“Oh, yes. The adventurer registration fee is 1 gold… Have you prepared it?”

    “..1 gold?”

“Yes, unfortunately, due to some individuals who claim to be adventurers without any skills and end up with permanent physical disabilities or even passing away… the guild has no choice but to charge a registration fee.”

    “I see.”

    No wonder.

If that was the reason, then the registration fee seemed reasonable.

Although 1 gold seemed too expensive… it was still a worthwhile investment to become an adventurer.

And since I came to this world, I had to try being an adventurer.

With that thought in mind, I took out 1 gold from my pocket.

    Swish-

“I have received 1 gold. I will proceed with the registration. Please tell me your name and occupation.”

    Name and occupation.

The most important things in this world.

So I engraved them in the adventurer information.

    “My name is…”

    I hesitated for a moment.

Should I use my original world’s name, or should I come up with a new name on the spot?

Surprisingly, I didn’t have a name in this world yet.

    So I pondered.

    What name should I choose?

After much thought, a suitable name came to mind.

    “My name is Yujin.”

Since my full name is Seo Yujin, I could just use Yujin as my name.

“My name is Yujin… and as for my occupation, I am a wizard.”

“…Wizard, confirmed. Wizards require verification, so please wait a moment.”

    “Oh, okay.”

Perhaps they needed to double-check to prevent adventurers pretending to be wizards and joining other parties to backstab them.

    Wizard adventurers were valuable resources.

Well, it was a bit of a hassle, but it was good to have this double-check to avoid any accidents.

With that thought in mind, I waited for how long.

A man in fancy clothes came down.

    And after looking at me-

    “If he’s a wizard, approve him. It’s obvious that he’s a wizard.”

    “Oh, okay.”

After glancing at me, he went back up.

I was a bit suspicious, but seeing his bald head, I could understand.

He must have studied a lot in this field.

People who studied in this field were more likely to go bald.

Because they were under a lot of stress.

Fortunately, I didn’t have any balding issues.

While thinking about that, the receptionist with golden curly hair came up to me with a charming smile and spoke.

“Haha… sorry for doubting you. There have been many suspicious incidents lately, so we have to be careful.”

“Oh, it’s okay. By the way, what’s your name? I might visit often, so I should know your name.”

With that thought in mind, I smiled, and the receptionist with golden curly hair also smiled and said, “My name is Esilly…!”

    “Oh, I see.”

    Esilly.

It was a very pretty name.

    It suited her face well.

    “Such a pretty name.”

    “Oh, thank you.”

After exchanging greetings, I received a silver badge from Esilly.

Adventurers’ ranks were strictly divided based on their achievements.

    The lowest rank was bronze.

    Above that was silver.

    Above silver was gold.

    And above gold was platinum.

It was divided into these four ranks.

I had heard that when adventurers started, they usually received a bronze badge, but in the adventurer industry, starting with a silver badge seemed to be the case for valuable wizard resources.

Well, it was a win for me.

I didn’t need to go around building up achievements.

With that thought in mind, I asked Elysille.

“So, where can I receive requests? That’s what I’m most curious about.”

“Oh, requests are posted on that bulletin board over there. If you take a request from the board and come to me, I will assess the grade of the request and the adventurer’s grade, and go through the process of determining suitability or unsuitability.”

Surprisingly, the process was very well-organized.

    It was fascinating.

Feeling amazed by how organized it was, I asked, “What happens if it’s deemed unsuitable?”

In response to my question, Elysille looked at me and gave a wry smile.

“…You won’t be able to accept the request. From the guild’s perspective, it’s better to not take on a request and fail, as there’s nothing more dangerous than that.”

    “That makes sense.”

With that, we finished our conversation and I left the tavern with the reward in hand.

I could do the request tomorrow.

With that thought in mind, I took a picture of the reward and logged into the gallery.

    Then, I posted a message.

“[Adventurer Registration on the Forum lololololol]

…It seemed like I might need the help of senior adventurers after all.”
