by adminPlease DM me for inquiries. It has been a few days since I started streaming as Jukmundi, short for Jukma Streamer.
The difference from when I was active as Yangchinbro is that I now stream for about 5 hours a day, unlike before when I used to broadcast for around 20 hours a day, totaling 120 hours a week.
Back then, I thought longer broadcasting hours were always better. I had an unconscious belief that I needed to work harder because I had fewer viewers.
However, being a streamer doesn’t guarantee rewards just for working hard. It’s better to create a clear image for viewers and provide entertainment, even if it means shorter broadcasts, so that they keep coming back.
Although my social life as a salesperson lasted only six months, it helped me deal with various types of people. It also improved my ability to engage with viewers, find interesting talking points, and manage my mental state compared to the past.
In the past, I would argue with viewers, spending tens of minutes fighting with one person if they started an argument. But now, such incidents no longer occur. Looking back, I realized that fighting with one viewer wasn’t a wise action because it would also make other viewers frown upon it.
If fighting with viewers was part of the concept, it could be considered content. However, most people dislike it when real conflicts arise during the stream.
Thanks to these skills becoming ingrained in me, the number of viewers in my stream more than doubled compared to before. During peak times, I often exceeded 100 viewers.
Of course, the biggest factor was not my mindset or personal growth but the 5-player kill video of Jukma uploaded on YouTube.
After watching that video, famous rankers and YouTubers who had only heard of Jukma debated whether he was worthy or not, and as a result, more viewers started coming to my stream.
Personally, if I were to give an evaluation, I think Jukma has finally established a foundation to perform at the level of other dealers.
Of course, it doesn’t mean that Jukma’s performance is on par with other top-tier dealers. To reach that level, he would need gold twice as much, but in terms of reaching the peak, it holds true.
Therefore, it is advisable to find another job if you still want to be a dealer. However, the advantage of being a Red Rider was that, with this update, I could set up more diverse skills and perform skill combinations that would normally require multiple characters. Nevertheless, even if using the same skills, the poor stats of the Red Rider make the experience completely different. As a result, even if I were to start as a Red Rider now, the probability of me being able to handle it at my level would be low. Of course, I wasn’t worried about encountering Red Rider users who surpass me. Even if there were Red Rider users who surpassed me, it’s not like I aspire to be a pro gamer, and there will always be users with better skills than me at some point. I’m not physically strong like a middle or high school student either, but I still think I’m decent enough. However, I can’t compete against those weaklings with soft bones. The problem is this: since the other day, there has been one viewer who keeps donating during the broadcast. “WatermelonDudungie donated 10,000 won!” “Are you awake? Did you eat? What did you eat?” “Um… Thank you. I just ordered and ate a hamburger.” -MAMAMOO -It looks sweet. -Already making broth? -As soon as the broadcast starts, they throw away 10,000 won, lol. “WatermelonDudungie donated 10,000 won!” “Where do you live? I’ll order you a healthy meal. Or should I send you a gift card?” “I’ll take care of it myself, thank you.” It seems like an ordinary conversation, but something feels suspicious. It gives me the feeling that they’re subtly prying into personal information. Female streamers might be used to this kind of thing, but it’s hard to imagine a male streamer, especially a rookie who just started a few days ago, attracting such a stalker. At the very least, even if I were some kind of loser, I would need regular viewers for a stalker to develop any affection. What do they know about me that makes them attach themselves like broth? What’s their concept? Normally, I would have blocked them right away, but as an inexperienced streamer, I’m too afraid to casually reject a big spender who throws around 10,000 won like it’s nothing. “WatermelonDudungie donated 100,000 won!” “Then use this to buy something delicious.” “Oh my goodness~~ Thank you, Watermelon-nim~”
Okay. How about being a stalker? It’s welcoming if you’re a wealthy stalker. I smiled and expressed my gratitude. Instead of using TTS to read the chat, I directly spoke into the microphone.
On the first day, I tried to use TTS to read instead, but it was frustrating because there seemed to be a delay. The TTS itself executed in just one second, but I overlooked the delay in the broadcast.
Even with fast platforms, even with proper settings, a delay of more than three seconds occurs. To allow viewers to see what I’m seeing, there is a minimum delay of three seconds.
Therefore, there was a problem of increasing delay when communicating with viewers using voice created by TTS.
So, as an alternative solution, I chose to use OBS and additional programs to modify the voice. At first, it sounded clearly altered, but I kept adjusting the settings to find a natural setting that didn’t sound like my original voice but still sounded like someone else.
As a result, my voice became slightly deeper and cooler than my original voice, and I am personally satisfied while using it.
WatermelonDudongi has donated 100,000 won!
“I have a meeting, so I’ll go. Good luck with your broadcast~”
“Ah. Yes. Please take care~”
I had to treat them as the president. They’ve only been here for about 10 minutes, and the cumulative donation amount has exceeded 500,000 won.
-A meeting? Are they an office worker?
-Do some workplaces have meetings at 7 p.m.?
-Is this person pretending to be an office worker while being unemployed?
-Mundi, be careful. They might have taken their mom’s card and secretly made the donation.
I’ve heard stories like that. There was an incident where someone used their parent’s card to pretend to be a landlord and donated tens of millions of won to streamers.
The streamer who received the donation cried and even asked for a commission before refunding it.
But in my opinion, it didn’t seem like a young child stealing a card to make a donation. If that were the case, it would be to seek attention, and the amount donated is enough to attract attention from any stream.
If it were my stream, even if I sent just a thousand won punch, it would gather attention. So why bother?
-But wait, did JukMundi already participate in a tournament?
During the broadcast, a viewer suddenly made an unrelated comment. “Competition? What competition?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Here, it seems like your name is mentioned.”
The viewer clicked on the link they had posted. “Hi-Natdae.”
It was a competition held quarterly on Twitch, where streamers competed to see who had the lowest Hyore skill.
It was quite a famous competition, known to all Twitch viewers. Of course, I knew about it too. Although I had never been invited before.
I examined each participant streamer listed on the elaborately decorated banner. There were names I was familiar with and streamers participating for the first time. Oh, Neon is here too?
Since Neon started broadcasting over six months ago, it seemed like this was their first participation in a competition that took place not long after their debut.
Well, that’s fine. My name isn’t there. Is it a mistake?
As I thought that, my eyes scanning through the list of participating streamers came to a halt at one place.
What? It’s really there. Contact Jukma Moon privately.
“No, I never said I would participate.”
Forget about participating. I haven’t even received any contact.
-?
-??
-?
-I didn’t call you, how can you come? LOL
-Is it for real? But why is your name there?
-Are you a pro-bulchamler?
“No, I’m not a no-show or anything… This is awkward.”
Was it some kind of misunderstanding? Someone like me, who just started streaming less than a week ago, had no reason to be randomly included.
I checked YouTube and found that my 5-kill video had surpassed 50,000 views, but that doesn’t mean I should be participating in Twitch’s biggest hit competition as a complete newbie.
And as I examined the banner closely, I discovered something.
Production. Sponsored by MadBox.
“Just wait a moment. Let me make a call and come back.”
-OK, OK.
-Participating in Hi-Natdae within a week of starting the stream? Your growth is insane.
-Isn’t the person who made that unconsciously wrote it while watching MoonDi’s stream?
-MoonDi’s stream is entertaining, though. LOL
Even if I left them alone, they would chat among themselves and have fun, which was a characteristic of Twitch chat. I didn’t worry too much about it and joined the Discord chat.
Let’s see. I must have added them as friends.
[Hey.]
[?]
Gogi Bangpae. No, Gominhee replied almost instantly.
“Did you invite me to participate?”
“Yes.”
“…How do I know if I’m a parent figure?”
I have never informed Gominhee of the nickname I use for broadcasting.
“Who did you give the USB to?”
“Wow… Did you plant a backdoor there?”
“No, it’s just simple monitoring. Don’t worry, I didn’t take any money from the bank account. I haven’t even looked up your adult video preferences.”
“I don’t have adult videos on my computer.”
“But you did?”
“…”
It’s getting creepy. The visual alone seemed like there might be a hidden backdoor. After the broadcast, I’ll have to run a virus scan right away.
“Anyway, based on the timing of the broadcast and the characters I usually play, it’s easy to figure out what nickname I use for broadcasting. It’s just a reasonable shortcut.”
“…”
Saying that again leaves me speechless. Anyway, since I was the one who brought in the USB stick she gave me.
“So why did you suddenly invite me to participate during the daytime? Without even asking.”
“I thought you wouldn’t agree if I asked.”
“…Well, I guess that’s true.”
Participating in the daytime when it hasn’t even been a few days since the broadcast started? Not only will I receive concentrated criticism accusing me of blatantly pushing her forward, but I’ll also be thoroughly grilled like a piece of meat on a chopping board.
Of course, the daytime stage is significant and easy to attract attention. It’s a double-edged sword.
Considering my personality, even if Gominhee had suggested my participation, her assumption that I wouldn’t agree wasn’t wrong.
But isn’t it a bit one-sided to make me participate without consulting me?
“The second reason is that I wanted to see how you would perform.”
“…Not because you thought it would be fun to broadcast with Neon?”
“Well, that’s my personal enjoyment…”
“…”
It’s not that I don’t understand Gominhee’s perspective. As the representative of the company, she was in a position to minimize the risks caused by Arisana Neon.
“I understand. We can’t undo what’s already been uploaded. Let’s let it go this time.”
“Thank you. Since this Friday is the first auction, don’t be late and show up.”
“Okay.”
I wrote that down and closed the chat window.
And at the same time, I started to worry naturally.
It was too clear how I would be treated in the community.
