Chapter Index

    ‘It kills the effect.’

I didn’t know it would be like this. I felt it while using magic before, but the magic I saw in the game and the magic used in reality were different in power.

The chain lightning bolt fired against the aerial wyvern was used to track down the enemy and even chained to monsters on the ground. It was a sight that could not be seen in the game. If it were a game, the lightning’s transfer range would not extend that far.

And I just shot [Grand Flash Lane.]

Even I, who used it, was surprised. I never thought there would be a power that would cover the entire Seoul. Plus, I didn’t know that he could track down the enemy and attack him on his own.

I hoped the camera wouldn’t capture my face at that moment. I’m sure I must have looked a little surprised too.

Grand Flash Rain showed an effect that exceeded my expectations. Although most of the magical power has been consumed, this is more than expected.

However, the problem now was that it was difficult to maintain levitation because it consumed too much magical energy.

I thought about drinking a magic potion, but since the broadcasting station’s cameras were filming me, I didn’t want to show my hand right now.

As I looked around to find a natural place to land, I saw the National Assembly building showing off its blue dome.

‘Let’s go towards the National Assembly building.’

I took off from Mapo, passed Bamseom Island, headed toward Yeouido, and landed lightly on top of the National Assembly Building.

    I guess I was cool.

As I looked around, I saw all kinds of eyes focused on me.

The reaction was a little different from what I expected, so I was embarrassed. I expected the gazes to be filled with awe, but instead, they were gazes filled with astonishment and fear rather than awe.

Did I commit too much? Well, if someone who could blow up the entire city of Seoul appeared in front of you, it was understandable that you would react that way.

Plus, I’m an outsider. Isn’t it Dragonian? In their situation, I didn’t even know that I was considered the same type as the monsters that invaded Seoul.

I took another elixir from my inventory, drank it, and jumped off the capitol roof.

As I walked with my hands in my coat pockets, I saw several guns pointed at me.

    “Hands up!”

“If you move, I will shoot.”

When I look around at the owners of the guns, I see that they are wearing black clothing, bulletproof vests, and helmets. It seemed like they were special forces protecting the National Assembly building.

I looked around them for a moment to see their reactions.

“Da… Captain Come to think of it, this guy doesn’t understand us, does he? I don’t think it’s a person.”

“He’s wearing human clothes, but… If you look at the scarf… ”

“What if I rebel? From what I saw earlier, it seemed like he was an opponent that I couldn’t do anything about with a gun. They use some kind of strange magic.”

Their reaction mixed with confusion was amusing, so I kept watching them and they kept whispering among themselves.

The guy who appears to be the most senior talks somewhere on the radio and gives orders to his subordinates.

”Put away your gun! Everyone, put your guns down!”

“Da… Leader! Is that okay? If that guy attacks us…”

“It’s a superior order! Stop all aggressive behavior. Absolutely refrain from any actions that could pose a threat. It looks like we can’t speak our language, so please don’t provoke us at all.”

At the command of the soldier who appeared to be the leader, the guns pointed at me were taken away.

I breathed a sigh of relief in my heart. To be honest, I was very scared inside.

In fact, if they had said ‘I don’t know’ and fired their guns, I probably would have been in big trouble. Maybe I have ceased to be a person of this world.

I tilted my head and looked at them, and I saw that they were embarrassed every time our eyes met. I burst into laughter.

“Maybe you can understand sign language or body language. I feel like I’m angry about something, but I can’t even try to talk… ”

“Woo… How can anyone express that we have no intention of attacking?”

“Ugh, when a cat tilts its head, it means that it is about to pounce. It’s not a cat, but lizards might have a similar reaction.”

When I heard it, even a cat came out. It was a bit absurd so I laughed.

They seemed too intimidating, so I stopped harassing them and started talking to them.

“I understand roughly everything, so don’t worry. Are you the leader here?”

    “Ugh!”

    “Ha… I speak Korean!”

People who are suddenly surprised by what I say. Although they are special forces, they stutter and have glass hearts.

    cute.

“My name is Elm Northmund. I’d like to talk to the person in charge here.”

“Ah… I contacted superiors. We will come to your place soon. Oh, if you could just sit here on a chair.”

    “I understand. Thank you.”

One of the crew members brings a plastic chair from somewhere and holds it out to me.

I destroyed most of the gates and monsters in downtown Seoul. Although it has not been completely dealt with, the remaining small children can be dealt with with just military units.

After saying that and sitting down firmly on the chair, the plastic makes a pleasant creaking sound.

As I sit in the chair and think about my future steps, I faintly hear the sound of a gunshot coming from afar.

Judging from what the special forces have said, my appearance has already spread around the world through the airwaves, and it is likely that high-ranking government officials will try to contact me.

They’ll probably take me to the basement of the National Intelligence Service or to a bomb shelter somewhere and try to find out about me. Am I an enemy or an ally? If they are allies, why are they helping them?

They are experts in interrogation. There shouldn’t be any awkward parts in the play.

Come to think of it, it was December 4th, three days from today, when the people of 『Kissin』 began to awaken their supernatural abilities. I will intervene further in that part.

The outbreak of the world emergency gate that will occur in the future. The abilities that people will become capable of. And magic stones harvested from monsters.

In this regard, I will have to take the lead and take advantage as much as possible.

“Have those monsters been in this world from the beginning? It seems like there is no preparation for that.”

I was bored thinking about various things and started talking to them. I didn’t say this because I wanted a proper answer. I already know their answer anyway.

“Ah…no, we don’t know what happened to us either. Such a phenomenon is a disaster I have never seen in my life.”

“I see. Unlike our world, this world has an amazing weapon system. But I don’t think it’s a suitable weapon for hunting monsters. I’m sorry, but it’s been a while since I came to this world. Can I ask you some more questions?”

“Do you mind if I answer that question?”

I heard a voice from behind and turned around to see a woman wearing a neat black suit. For a woman, she was quite tall, had short hair, and was wearing earplugs with strings on her ears.

Just by looking at it, I’m wearing an outfit that makes me think I’m a high-ranking agent somewhere.

She nodded and continued talking with a smile.

“Hello. The National Intelligence Service of the Republic of Korea is telling me to immigrate. Are you Mr. Elm Northmund?”

“How do you know my name? I never told you my name.”

He cut her off with a deliberately wary look on his face. Since I had to pretend that I was not from this world, it was an acting remark that showed that I was somewhat ignorant of this world.

“Ah…I received that via communication. I received a call from Team Leader Baek over there. Was it rude to reveal your name first? If so, I’m sorry…”

“No, it’s not like that. There is no other reason than that I was surprised that someone I met for the first time knew my name. So, are you the one in charge here?”

“No. But I came here after receiving orders to attend Mr. Northmund. If you don’t mind, may I take Mr. Northmund with me? You probably have a lot of questions you want to ask us, so I don’t want to be rude by talking in this cold place.”

    “I understand.”

Come this way. Lee Min-ha said and opened the back door of the luxury limousine behind her.

The interior of the limousine was just like I expected it to be, a luxury limousine.

There are many places in Korea that offer limousine services or limousine tours, but this was my first time seeing a limousine with such a luxurious interior. Looking at the fact that the National Intelligence Service brought it in, did it seem like the president was driving it?

There was even a small chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

As I was watching the scene with excited eyes, Lee Min-ha, who followed me in, gave a short smile as if it was the reaction she wanted.

“It’s amazing that you can decorate the inside of a carriage to this extent. Was it made by a famous craftsman?”

“Hmm… It’s not a carriage, but it is a limousine made by a renowned craftsman. There should be no inconvenience in serving you.”

“I see. Thank you for your hospitality.”

As the limousine departs, the scenery of Seoul passes behind me.

Countless soldiers and tanks were filling the streets. It seemed that all subordinate units of the Gyeonggi Province’s Defense Forces had entered Seoul.

The limousine I was riding in gave off the impression that I was a VVIP, so I passed through the barricades set up by the soldiers without any inspection.

As I saw fighter planes and Apache attack helicopters flying in the sky, and the sound of gunshots intermittently coming from afar, it seemed like the small battle with the monsters that had survived my magic was still going on.

The limousine continued on through the night streets. As I passed Gangnam and headed toward Seocho, it seemed like I was headed toward the National Intelligence Service headquarters.

As I live, I also visit the National Intelligence Service.

The car went up a winding hill and eventually stopped at a building.

    “Arrived.”

The driver bowed his head succinctly and opened the limousine door.

    ‘oh…!’

This is the main building of the National Intelligence Service, which I only saw in pictures. The shape seemed to be the same in this world as well. The words “Endless loyalty and devotion to the country and its people.” are engraved on the dome-shaped rooftop resembling the National Assembly building and the cornerstone of the main gate.

‘The small details are the same as the original world.’

I followed Lee Min-ha ahead of me.

    *

    “….So that’s what happened.”

I took the wine in my glass, drank it, and continued talking.

Where I am now is a large room.

I was sitting on the sofa in a room that felt luxurious, like a hotel suite, and was explaining the whole story I had made up to the two men in front of me.

Actually, I thought they would drag me into a dark interrogation room like you see in movies, but I was glad that wasn’t the case.

    “So, to sum it up…”

“Elm Northmund is from a place called Grandis Continent and wants to hunt the monsters we saw earlier.”

“That’s right. Although Grandis is no longer a place.”

Here’s the whole story I made up.

The world of Grandis is a fantasy world where countless humans and different races live and where magic exists.

And the Grandis Continent fought against monsters for a long time and was ultimately destroyed by the monsters’ invasion.

I, Elm Northmund, led the resistance and fought until the end, and at the last moment, I activated dimensional magic and came to this world.

And in the end, the gate opens on this Earth and the invasion of monsters begins.

It was roughly a story created by mixing together the game story of 『Grandis Saga』, which I originally played.

“That… I see, it’s really amazing. I had no idea such a place actually existed. A fantasy world where magic is real…”

“There is nothing to look at like that. Rather, if you think about it, science did not develop because magic existed, slavery continued, and convenience became the exclusive preserve of the nobility. Rather, this Earth is in a much better shape in terms of social development. And that deformed form hastened the downfall of Grandis.”

This is so-called lip service to win their favor.

In fact, they are probably thinking what would happen if I turned into an enemy. A lot of momentum can be felt even outside this suite.

Perhaps special forces are on standby. If he gets the slightest sense of hostility from me, he will immediately try to subdue me.

But if you really ask me, I’m not wrong. I played [Grandis Saga] in the form of a game, so it is a place where slavery and nobility are real. It is a world where power is law, and nobles exploit the lower classes. If you actually fall into the game world and fall into the lower class, would there be a bigger hell than that?

I felt a small sense of relief pass over their faces when they heard me praising this world.

There must be recorders installed somewhere in this room, so my voice is probably being transmitted to other places in real time. It was necessary to mention that I have nothing against Earthlings.

“That’s why you need to prepare. Because their goal is now Earth.”

    “Could it be… Mr. Northmund…”

“They are my enemies. My hometown was burned down and all life in Grandis, except me, disappeared. I have a duty to resolve their resentment.”

As I said that, I glared at them.

Now this is your story. They are after you. Be prepared to survive. Things like today will happen every day from now on.

As if they also recognized that their gaze had such an intention, their gazes toward each other became resolute.

“Then, can we think of his words as saying that he will help us?”

“That’s right. But Earthlings are weak. Unlike the people of Grandis Continent, they cannot use mana. From what I saw earlier, Earth’s weapon system is very excellent, but it doesn’t seem to be very effective against monsters. Monsters only take a lot of damage from mana weapons, so I want to teach people on Earth how to use mana. Um… can you give me your hand for a moment?”

While saying that, he grabbed one of the agents’ arms and touched it. He seemed a little taken aback by the sudden touch, but soon managed his expression resolutely.

I moved my hands here and there for a while as if I was fiddling with clams, and then I generated mana in my hands and created a blue light. I just added color to the light magic that simply emits light from my hand.

“How do you feel something? Do you feel something going up your arm and stimulating your insides?”

    “Oh…no. It’s a bit warm though…”

    “Hmm…”

Actually, this is a natural reaction. Since it was just a simple light spell, there was no way I could feel anything other than the warmth of the light.

I let go of his hand and did the same to the other agent. To be honest, Lee Min-ha, who was standing behind them, made a somewhat selfless comment.

Well… I wouldn’t feel strange if a lizard touched my hand anyway.

    Finally I let go.

“No magical talent. I don’t know if all people on Earth are like that, but all three of them are like that. There is no mana rod itself, which is the basis of magical power.”

    “Ah…”

“When I arrived on Earth three days ago, the first thing I felt was that the magic power itself was very rare in this world. If the magic content in the atmosphere of Grandis is the ocean, then the magic content on this Earth is less than a cup of water. Therefore, Earthlings may have evolved in a way that has nothing to do with the use of magical power.”

Yes. Only by using magical power can I inflict proper damage to those monsters, and I am the only one who can use that magical power. So treat me like a treat.

They are also government agents, and they probably understood what I meant to some extent.

With a sinister smile on my mind, I poured more wine into the glass on the table.
