Episode 5: A Sleepless Night and School.

    “I’m sorry…”

    “It’s okay.”

    Does she know?

That saying such things only makes the situation more awkward.

The gaze that met mine was fixed on the floor.

Well, it was Han Seyeon who was always wary of Han Sein.

I knew we wouldn’t make proper eye contact.

But does that mean I should ramble like this?

I didn’t even see her naked, just a glimpse of her belly.

Of course, in this day and age.

Merely looking could be considered visual harassment, leading to police investigations.

    Anyway.

I had no intention of maintaining this atmosphere forever.

It was frustrating, and the more cautiously Han Seyeon treated me, the more her emotions would flatten out.

    “Let’s just sleep for now.”

    “Yeah.”

    Unintentionally, a sigh escaped me.

Where did Han Seyeon, who proudly lifted the trophy, disappear to?

Already my head ached at the thought of trying to fix Han Sein’s clingy nature.

A man and a woman sleeping in the same room.

Even if they were family, weren’t they already adults?

    Some might find it strange.

    But this was everyday life.

Ignoring the worn wallpaper and the aged corners of the house.

A cozy blanket lay on the floor of the spacious living room/bedroom.

No matter how poor, one must protect what they have and live on.

If only we could freely turn on the heater.

I hesitated since I wasn’t the one paying.

She got into the blanket first.

Calculate the distance between the two pillows that are apart.

The answer was a close yet distant distance.

Far for being under the same blanket.

But not far enough to sleep separately.

That was the ideal distance for Han Seyeon.

I, too, slowly got under the blanket.

The air was chilly, but the electric mat warmed my back.

Today was a very different day.

It was my first night in this world.

And perhaps for her, the day when her daily life began to change.

    Even now.

Han Seyeon awkwardly stared at the ceiling.

I, too, gazed at the dark ceiling.

    And then.

    Slowly, I turned towards her.

The distance between us seemed like we could touch if we stretched our arms, yet it felt unreachable.

    Did she sense my movement?

For a moment, Han Seyeon’s eyes flickered towards me before returning to the ceiling.

With Han Sein’s memories, I understood why she acted this way, but I couldn’t erase the frustration from my heart.

    Still, I shouldn’t rush things.

There was a time when I wished for an older sister.

Should I borrow a bit of that sentiment?

    “Sister…”

    “Huh, yeah?”

    “Oh, it’s nothing.”

Carefully looking at her, I spoke.

    Han Seyeon stuttered in surprise.

Since the incident where she slapped me, I could count the times she initiated a conversation on one hand.

    Except for truly necessary words.

So, would this one sentence sound more uncomfortable if left unsaid, or should I continue speaking?

    “Ran out of pocket money…?”

“No. There’s nowhere to spend it anyway.”

The conversation between the Hans siblings needed a purpose to make sense.

Meaningless chatter and jokes had no place.

If she were still the old Han Seyeon, she probably wouldn’t have changed until she became an adult.

But I, as Han Seyin in the reversed world, was not the same as the Han Seyin in South Korea.

    I won’t rush into things.

    Just a little.

With a very slight change, it begins.

    “So… why?”

    “….”

    A beat paused.

    Her breathing ceased.

Was she trying to read my intentions or did discomfort arise?

    Her breath sounded awkward.

Eyes accustomed to the darkness captured Han Seyeon.

Perhaps her night vision had also improved.

Carefully, she turned her head to look at me.

Only after the darkness had settled did we meet eye to eye.

I casually let out my thoughts.

My lips moved, uttering words that would be spoken nonchalantly in a normal household.

    “Good night.”

    “……”

    I didn’t wait for a response.

Just said what needed to be said and properly lay down to sleep.

The night of February was quiet.

Even more so within the city center.

The occasional sound of passing motorcycles was the only thing disturbing the silence.

Saturday was supposed to be a day off.

However, for Han Seyeon, it was not applicable.

To her, who sometimes worked even on Sundays, a day off sounded oddly unfamiliar.

Naturally, she was human too, and she did her best to regulate her condition.

Despite working tirelessly, she didn’t indulge in alcohol.

She sought rest in a house with an awkward younger brother.

Going to bed early and waking up on time.

That was the most important thing to regulate her condition.

    “Ugh….”

    However.

Han Seyeon couldn’t easily fall asleep.

    Why? The question didn’t arise.

She already knew the reason in her heart.

First, the post-masturbation refractory period today.

    And secondly.

Because Han Seyin behaved differently than usual.

    “Sleep well.”

The power behind those words was beyond expectation.

To a sister who viewed her younger brother as a sexual target.

He uttered the words “sleep well.”

Like throwing a dagger like her hated mother did in her childhood.

To a sister who could be seen as the perpetrator.

What was the intention behind those words?

Even though she didn’t want to give it meaning.

It wasn’t easy since they hadn’t spoken at all until now.

    And thirdly.

    “Ah…”

    Han Seyin approached.

    Clearly, he was asleep.

Regular breathing, even the faint snoring.

It was the certainty of sleep.

However, his actions strongly affected Han Seyeon.

The distance had clearly changed from before.

Whether it was due to the chill in the air, the atmosphere was very cold.

    Should we call it instinct?

    His body moved towards warmth.

Buried under the covers up to his head.

Due to the originally cold weather, Han Seyeon also had only her head peeking out.

The sensation of Han Seyin slowly approaching inside began to be felt.

    It should have been warm.

But Han Seyin’s body was inherently cold and chilly.

Considering that their mother drank and smoked during pregnancy. It was true that she was born healthy.

    That wasn’t important.

    Han Seyeon shuddered.

She felt Han Seyin’s body temperature getting closer.

His arms and legs digging into her body.

    Sticking closely to her body.

    “Ah…”

I unintentionally let out a sound.

Han Seyeon opened her eyes in confusion, but the situation continued calmly.

With a puzzled expression, she closed her eyes slightly.

She tried to fall asleep, but his approaching body was felt.

Whether deeply asleep or making cute snoring sounds, it was endearing.

A man’s body is this soft.

His body clinging to hers was felt.

While it seemed firm on the outside, the actual contact of flesh against flesh had a quite addictive softness.

    I need to fall asleep.

I need to fall asleep, but…

Han Seyeon couldn’t easily fall asleep.

    Between her thighs and calves.

The hard sensation pressing against her flesh made it difficult.

    “Take care.”

    “Yeah…”

    A sleepy, mellow voice.

Seems like she was halfway lost in thought?

I remember approaching her, but I dozed off afterward and it’s fuzzy.

    Early dawn.

As she got up, I naturally rose as well.

After she finished preparing for work, she headed outside.

    Quite amusing.

Rather, Hanyeon, who couldn’t sleep properly, received the words more comfortably.

Even so, her gaze often fell on my lower body, perhaps due to what happened last night.

She must have seen me off as well.

    I closed my eyes again.

Though sleep had eluded me, I engaged in a sort of meditation to organize my thoughts.

    Two days ahead.

Once the weekend ends and Monday arrives, I must attend school.

As February ends and March approaches, students must go to school.

    That’s the natural reality.

    Legally an adult.

However, the fact remains that I am a student.

Not a university student aiming for a more specialized major.

In this reversed world, I had to attend a somewhat special school.

Will I be able to do well?

    Worries naturally crept in.

    “You can do it.”

    “Shut up.”

It would be nice if it didn’t read my thoughts.

The somber hologram used to read my thoughts at will and respond. Now, after two days, I had grown accustomed to it, and most importantly, I wasn’t lonely.

    “Yes.”

“But why is this kid’s life like this?”

    “Isn’t it extraordinary?”

A sudden thought crossed my mind.

Hanyein from an unfortunate family background.

But the school he entered was none other than “Hwirang” Academy.

A kind of university-like position, with a prestigious feel.

It held a similar status to Seoul National University, the most desired by students in South Korea.

Thanks to the goodwill of the partially socially contributive school, Hanyein was able to enroll.

I wasn’t sure about my future path.

But since there were important souls there too, I was in a situation where I had to go against my will.

Despite unfavorable family circumstances, there were benefits such as full scholarships and uniform support.

Thanks to that, I would enter without any issues and lead my school life.

    “I… can do well, right?”

    “….”

    “What’s wrong? Why no answer?”

    Anxiety arose.

While the hologram never lied, it always responded to certain topics with silence.

    A sigh escaped me.

    The best academy in Seoul.

Surely there would be students with remarkable backgrounds.

I recalled the repertoire often seen in such media.

    Why worry?

    Let’s just sleep.
