After finishing the delicious meal, we took about an hour to rest and stretch our bodies before heading outside again.

“It’s dangerous at night, but now we are four, and if the zombies gather at night, we’ll have a hard time tomorrow.”

My increased combat power made it possible to ignore 100 zombies, a fact proven by the sudden appearance of a mutant zombie leading the zombie horde.

Now that my divine power had reached Grade D, I felt a strengthening of my unknown vision and an instinctual understanding of the zombies’ information.

While searching for a new place to find food supplies, I was suddenly attacked by a horde of zombies. Among them, I sensed a special energy from two zombies and upon closer inspection, I realized that they were unlike the other zombies – they were first-stage awakened beings like us, possessing special abilities. Determined to deal with them first, I confidently separated from the group and immediately faced the mutant zombie. However, my confidence quickly waned.

“I’ve been dodging and blocking all their attacks. Not a single hit landed.”

As I attacked, they would evade my attacks, using my own force against me to strike back, forcing me to quickly assume a defensive stance. Their attacks pierced through my defenses, leaving me momentarily stunned. Despite being in better physical condition, I couldn’t land a proper attack. To overcome this, I devised a strategy of sacrificing bones and flesh to inflict damage.

“To the right.”

As I attacked with my right arm, the zombie dodged to the right, but I managed to grab its arm while turning my body, exclaiming, “Gotcha!”

Swish!

Even with one arm rendered unusable, the zombie skillfully evaded my attacks and continued to land effective blows on me.

Thud-

Having received over ten effective blows in rapid succession, I swiftly maneuvered to immobilize the zombie by latching onto its arm and then plunged deep into its neck, breaking it and killing it.

“Ugh…”

After showcasing my ground fighting skills against the zombie, I noticed a deep bite mark on my thigh. However, utilizing my abilities, I observed the infection gradually healing, which struck me as peculiar.

“But why isn’t the point…?”

In that moment, I momentarily turned my body to defend against the sudden impact from behind, momentarily losing focus due to the relentless attacks.

“Surely twisting its neck should have killed it?”

Unable to dispel my doubts, I decided to focus on killing the zombie in front of me and gave my all in the current battle.

As I attempted to evade an attack by moving to the right, the zombie unexpectedly bent its attack trajectory, striking me head-on. Anticipating this, I tried to grab its arm to use ground fighting techniques.

In an instant, I found myself in a similar position as the zombie, swiftly launching an attack and evading its counterattack.

“Boxing? Did it learn from me in the meantime?”

Impressed by its remarkably fast learning ability, I was taken aback and immediately began to press on without giving it time to grow.

Swiftly deflecting incoming punches and countering with my own, I engaged in a rapid exchange of blows. When a punch was extended towards my ribs, I momentarily tensed my abdomen to absorb the impact and swiftly charged forward.

Thud!

As it struck my jaw and pushed me back with a kick, I regained my stance and prepared for its next assault.

“I might be in trouble if I mess this up.”

Realizing the potential danger due to my momentary arrogance, I decided to implement the strategy I had previously discussed, observing the hundreds of zombies in the distance struggling against Go Ah-young and the others.

Thwack-

Facing a relentless zombie charging towards me, I maintained a solid defensive stance, calmly enduring the onslaught of attacks and restraining its movements by tripping it with a limited offensive maneuver.

“Ah-young!”

Far away, the Molotov cocktail we made using a soju bottle flew and hit the zombie, quickly engulfing its entire body in flames.

As I fought this zombie, a new fact dawned on me: zombies do not have infinite stamina, and their physical abilities deteriorate the longer they fight. They also feel pain similar to ours and continue to fight with sheer determination without losing the will to fight.

I picked up the fallen knife, set it on fire, and slashed the neck of the guy writhing in pain, checking for any unexplored points and repeatedly swinging the knife.
