Chapter Index

It’s true, we’ve become quite close.

Waking up in a strange world was shocking enough, but to find myself transformed from a man into a woman, and Minji Soo, who was a woman, now a man, was even more bewildering.

But there was something more important to me than just that.

It didn’t seem like the kind of story to share over text, and typing it out was too frustrating, so I decided to call instead.

As soon as Soo picked up the phone, I didn’t bother with a greeting and went straight to the point.

“Hey. Stop beating around the bush and answer me honestly.”

    “What is it?”

“Did you bring me into this world to turn me into a female instructor?”

Even as I typed the message, I felt like I was losing my mind.

    “What are you talking about?”

It was daunting to explain in detail when asked, so I switched to a video call and held up the strange tail that had appeared on my body behind me, right in front of my face.

“Look at this. There’s a weird tail attached to my body!”

But looking at myself on camera, I couldn’t help but think I looked pretty.

The platinum blonde hair cascading down to my lower back, the sharp eyes, and the charming mole just below my left eye – even without any additional adjectives, I was undeniably beautiful.

    Soo also admired my appearance.

“What’s that strange thing attached to you? By the way, you’re quite pretty, huh?”

“Do you want to die? If you treat me like a woman, I’ll consider it an attempt to turn me into a female instructor, so be prepared to have that thing between your new legs kicked, alright?”

“I don’t really understand, but I’m already feeling creeped out.”

If it were real, it wouldn’t end with just feeling creeped out.

“But, um, aside from being pretty, it’s really unfamiliar. Am I some character I don’t know?”

Soo tilted his head in confusion on the screen.

Come to think of it, Soo’s appearance was also unusual. Short dark blue hair styled in a two-block cut, and his strong, masculine eyes matched his hair color perfectly.

    It was obvious.

    This guy was the protagonist.

“Hey. Let’s start by sorting things out one by one.”

    “Sure.”

“Is this world from your novel?”

    “Yeah.”

“Are you the protagonist of that novel?”

“Well, it just happened that way.”

    This guy is hilarious.

“But why don’t I know what character I am? I’m not a character from your novel?”

    “Well, um…”

After carefully choosing his words in his mind, Soo finally spoke.

“You seem to be… like an extra female student somewhere in the auditorium. Honestly, I don’t remember well.”

    This guy is insane.

I burst out laughing in disbelief.

“So you brought me into your novel, made yourself the protagonist, and stuck me as an extra in the background?”

Soo stuttered in embarrassment at my words.

“No, I-I’m not better than the main heroine!”

“Bullshit. The main heroine is better! Whatever it is, being an extra is worse than being the main character.”

Just looking at the dormitory we’re in now, it’s clearly an academy. So, the characters around the protagonist, who drive the story forward, would undoubtedly have strong abilities.

Even without bringing up the concepts of the main heroine or the academy, the treatment of extras in web novels means they could die or face danger at any moment depending on the plot.

But Soo argued back with an indignant expression.

    “This is unfair!”

    Phew, thank goodness.

    Female instructor.

That’s right, the genre I used to curse all the time!

So the story is different after all.

“Hey, being an extra is pretty nice. I’m quite satisfied with my current position.”

If the bold development of the story is like a turbulent river, then it’s actually better to be somewhat detached from the main flow.

Whether Minjisoo falls in love with another main heroine or gathers sub-heroines for a harem, that’s none of my business.

    And then.

    Wee-oo, wee-oo.

Suddenly, the sound of sirens urgently echoed through the dormitory. Startled, I accidentally spoke nervously into my phone.

    “Hey! What’s going on?”

Normally, I would expect an irritated retort in response.

But Minjisoo calmly explained the situation to me.

“It’s an emergency signal. A monster has appeared in the city, so we have to go deal with it.”

“How do we deal with it? What are my weapons or abilities?”

    “Well….”

Minjisoo hesitated for a moment, then answered in a solemn voice.

“We don’t know yet, so for now, just stick close to me.”

    “What?”

“I’ll make sure to protect you.”

It was a line that was completely out of character for the Minjisoo I knew, but since he was the person who knew this world the best, there was no reason for me to push him away.

    “Got it.”

    “Thank you. Oh, and…”

Minjisoo took a deep breath once more. This time, the air was slightly different from before. Earlier was a preparation for fierceness, but this time, it was more of a comforting self-encouragement.

“My name in this world is ‘Lager Godin.’ Call me ‘Lager’ in front of others.”

How can someone’s name be Lager….

I sighed silently. It was a name that was embarrassing enough to be ashamed of.

But as I hung up the phone and looked at the student ID card on the desk.

    ‘Ale Chloe.’

Realizing that mocking someone’s name was not appropriate, I bit my lip.

How can someone’s name be Ale….

    What a beer duo.

Tying up my messy hair into a ponytail and wearing a uniform was fine. I also liked the fact that the uniform bottoms included both a skirt and pants.

    But there was one problem.

    “…It won’t go up.”

The pants wouldn’t go up any further past my tailbone.

    Because of my tail.

The waist of the pants couldn’t go up past my hips and awkwardly sat in the middle of my buttocks. I thought about ignoring it and pulling up the pants, but that would cause my tail to fold uncomfortably and hurt.

    ‘What should I do.’

To worry about whether my panties would show even while wearing pants. I had never realized how inconvenient a tail could be.

Fortunately, the skirt wasn’t extremely short, and my tail wasn’t too thick, so wearing a skirt instead of pants seemed less uncomfortable.

With this conclusion in mind, wearing a skirt seemed like the rational choice.

However, due to the instincts ingrained from living as a man, my legs just wouldn’t fit through the skirt.

It felt like I was making a huge mistake, a feeling that went against all reason.

The reflection in the full-length mirror in the closet showed a perfectly feminine figure, and the skirt should have suited me perfectly.

But the skirt just wouldn’t go up past my waist.

Nevertheless, I couldn’t go out wearing the pants improperly, so I reluctantly had to wear the skirt.

The skirt that felt uncomfortably short above my knees kept making me press it down.

Monsters, huh. And I have to go deal with them. Honestly, I haven’t been very excited watching the extras who die from monster attacks before the protagonist appears.

Now that I think about it, my lips suddenly felt dry.

    “Wiiing. Wiiing.”

As if urging me, the siren sounded again from above my head. Just then, a message from Jisoo, or rather Laga, came. I checked my skirt once again, put on my shoes, and stepped outside.

Outside the door was bustling. From students with shoes crumpled at the heels to those with shirts half out, it seemed like I was the only one properly dressed.

“Hey! What are you doing over there!”

It was a unfamiliar voice. The black short-haired girl rushed towards me and grabbed my arm, leading me towards the corridor stairs without even giving me a chance to ask anything.

“Who knows how many more citizens will be sacrificed while you’re dawdling. Hurry up!”

In the girl’s eyes, a burning sense of justice and an anxiousness about the relentless flow of time coexisted.

Meeting the girl’s gaze, I also felt a sense of seriousness, and it seemed like I had to hurry up and follow her.

As we hurriedly descended the stairs as if pouring down from the 7th floor where we originally were, the girl asked,

    “Hey, where’s your tablet?”

    “What tablet?”

“This one, how are you going to fight without your tablet! You must be really sleep-deprived.”

    “Fight with a tablet?”

“Ugh, forget it. It’s too late now. Make sure to bring it next time! Stick by my side today.”

Leaving a remark that I couldn’t understand, the girl dashed back towards the 1st floor.

Although there was an elevator, it was impractical to wait for it as there were quite a few people who needed to move at once.

But the biggest reason was probably the girl’s impatient personality.

    “Yujin!”

As soon as we arrived on the 1st floor and stepped outside, Laga, with dark blue hair styled in a short two-block cut, called out to me loudly as if he had been waiting.

    “Yujin? Who’s that?”

The girl next to me looked at me with a puzzled expression.

I’ll have to explain later since the situation is a bit complicated.

Having descended the stairs from the 7th floor, I was out of breath. I apologized profusely to Laga for being late, explaining that it took time because of my tail and that I wanted to wear pants if possible.

    “What’s wrong with you.”

But Laga interrupted my words with a cold voice.

    Or more precisely.

That coldness was directed towards the black short-haired girl standing next to me. Laga gave her a fierce look.

    “Get lost.”

The girl’s expression froze in confusion, and I felt embarrassed and gestured to Laga.

As if suddenly accelerating, he blamed me for being a sudden man and having a macho attribute installed.

Laga didn’t care and once again drove the girl away.

    “Just leave.”

    “Okay. I’ll go then.”

The girl, struck by a sudden bolt from the blue, chuckled in disbelief and passed by Laga.

After confirming that the girl had moved away, I scolded Laga.

“Why are you like that? She seemed like a good person when we talked briefly earlier.”

Perhaps Laga, like me, might not know that she’s just an extra. But the sense of justice that gleamed in the girl’s eyes was definitely genuine.

Because she’s a good person, she would make a good ally.

However, after letting out a shallow sigh and looking back for a moment, Laga unexpectedly muttered under his breath.

    “She’s going to die today.”
