by adminThey say when people are overwhelmed by emotion, they lose all sight of reason.
That was me.
40 billion.
The highest jackpot for this round’s lottery.
They had heavily promoted it as the largest prize in history, probably because no winner had been drawn for several rounds.
The lottery ticket with the winning numbers was clenched tightly in my hand.
I had already checked countless times—whether the numbers were from a different round, whether what I bought was even a lottery ticket, and whether the prize was really 40 billion.
And then, at the crosswalk in front of the headquarters where I was supposed to claim my winnings, I got hit by a car and ended up transmigrating into the novel I had been reading.
Fuck.
If I had at least left a hate comment on the work, or if I had been the only reader who stuck with it until the final chapter, I wouldn’t have complained.
Okay, fine, I might’ve cursed a little even then, but I would’ve accepted it.
But why me?
Out of all those countless readers, why did it have to be me?
Every morning, I can’t help but wonder—
What if all of this is just a dream?
What if I actually won the 40 billion?
Honestly, at first, I felt disgusted, but I could still understand.
Yeah, maybe I just have shitty luck.
Getting transmigrated? Sure, I can take that.
And of all things, it had to be a regression novel?
I could even accept that. After all, it was a story I genuinely enjoyed.
Even if I suffered a little—no, a lot—I could endure it.
But making me transmigrate into the same damn story twice?
Go fuck yourself.
