Is this the end.

Closing his eyes, the last Four Heavenly Kings of the Demon Army took the final blow in place of the hero.

Forced by the demon king to become a spy and infiltrate the hero party, I couldn’t bring myself to betray them.

There are only two ways to lift the curse that grips my heart.

The demon king dies, or I die.

That’s why I chose death.

At first, we fought a lot.

But after crossing the line risking our lives, we all became precious comrades.

And amidst that, I was always tormented by guilt and self-loathing as the only traitor.

Now, everything is exhausting.

Was it the price for taking the hero’s final blow?

I couldn’t see ahead anymore.

The voices of my comrades shouting something faintly reached me, as my consciousness sank deeper into darkness.

“Please defeat the demon king and save the world.”

After murmuring a small dying wish that no one would hear, my consciousness faded away.
