Chapter Index

    …Is this true?

I continued to blink in front of the unbelievable reality.

No matter how many times I close and open my eyes again, the number written on my phone exactly matches the number on the paper in my hand.

    983rd Lotto winning numbers

    [13. 23. 26. 33. 35. 43]

    “Wow… fuck.”

An exhilarating shiver ran through my entire body. My brain started pumping out dopamine at the knowledge that I had succeeded in a life-changing gamble.

    A deep, flowing joy.

    And despair.

    ‘This shouldn’t be right…’

Lotto numbers seen in a dream.

And in that dream, I was bitten by a zombie and died.

    *

    I had a dream.

    A sour dog’s dream.

It was a dream where I was looking at myself from a third person’s perspective.

The more I looked at this, the less fun it was.

Wow… It was a dream that filled me with doubts that I was living a life like this.

I go to work every morning, work and leave work.

Repeat that life x 30 days.

The dream that lasted a month could be summarized in just three sentences.

A shitty life of working hard every day.

One day, when I opened the door to go to work, a zombie appeared and bit my neck.

    Dead.

So even after the dream, I didn’t think much of it.

I just thought I had a dog dream.

    Because dreams are inherently volatile.

While I was dreaming, I struggled in pain for a month, but when I woke up, it didn’t feel that serious.

But ever since I had the dream, I’ve been feeling a strange sense of déjà vu.

It seems like the new employee has seen this somewhere before.

The new job seems like something I’ve done before.

I racked my brain to remember one lottery number, just in case.

That’s the number that came to mind.

    13. 23. 33. 43. Four.

I remember cursing that it was too random and too regular.

I bought a whopping 820 lotto tickets by combining four numbers that I could barely remember.

To be honest, I didn’t think I would get hit, and it was almost like fun…

I won first place in the lotto. 2nd place. And I won countless third places.

    “Wow… fuck.”

I came home and gathered my thoughts.

The events I had seen in my dream were repeating themselves over and over again.

    Then… zombies will also appear.

What can I do now to prevent destruction?

    ‘no.’

No matter how much I thought about it, there was nothing I could do.

And I didn’t really want to do it.

A life of sacrifice for others…

Is there anything that doesn’t suit me as much as that?

Well… wouldn’t it be okay if I just live?

I guess I had money, but it was a waste to just die.
