EP2. When the Team Leader Is Obsessed, There’s a Lot of Overtime-2
by Shini
When the Team Leader is Obsessed, There are Many Late Nights-2
The first word that came to mind when I saw Lee Mina was “difficult.”
Her sharp eyes seemed like they would scrutinize everything, and the way she crossed her arms was overbearing.
“Good morning. The leader meeting ran late.”
She stated the reason for being late, but it didn’t sound like she was asking for understanding or making excuses. It was more like, “Just so you know.”
Then, she looked around as if checking to see if anyone was missing.
“………..”
Our eyes met again, and I was sure.
She was the one who would be obsessed with me in this world.
I can’t explain it. It was just a feeling.
In the first place, Dimensional Shift itself doesn’t make sense. So, it’s not strange to have this kind of feeling, right?
“Even if you worked overtime, shouldn’t you come to work looking neat? Inho?”
As soon as she sat down, Lee Mina pointed at me with her chin.
Everyone’s eyes were on me. Even the people who had said the team leader was too harsh earlier were just staring at the notebooks they had brought, like they had swallowed honey.
So, she’s the number one in this office.
“I’ll be careful.”
I gave a bland answer, but she didn’t seem to like it.
“Inho, is something wrong?”
“No, nothing’s wrong.”
“It seems like something is wrong, so I’m asking.”
“No, really, nothing’s wrong.”
“But why….”
Her tone rose as if she was getting angry.
The other team members, shrinking from the confrontation that started at the same time as the meeting, began to watch us both.
In the icy atmosphere, one person quietly raised their hand and said.
“Um… Mina, Inho said he wasn’t feeling well earlier… that he was going to leave early.”
“Yuna. I’m asking Inho right now, aren’t I?”
Mina replied with a smile, and Yuna said, “I’m sorry,” and lowered her head.
“So… you’re saying you’re not feeling well and you’re going to leave early?”
“Yes. I was going to tell you after the Scrum Meeting.”
“Well… I checked the instructions you were given yesterday by email. But don’t you think it’s a little irresponsible to leave early when we’re so busy these days?”
You should be grateful. If it were me originally, I would have flipped the desk over first.
I thought she’d be a bit more open-minded since she’s a young team leader, but she’s no different from the old fogeys of the 80s.
“I don’t think this company can’t function without me.”
When I said something I used to say often in my previous life, Lee Mina’s face twisted severely.
Everyone in the conference room stared at me with their mouths open. As if they had never expected me to say something like that.
The uncomfortable feeling from the Dimensional Shift, the anger at the fact that the original owner died from overwork and I possessed this body.
All of this mixed together, stimulating my original personality, and I leaned back in my chair and said in an arrogant posture.
“So, are you going to approve my early departure?”
Of course, the morning Scrum Meeting did not proceed properly.
Lee Mina, angry at my provocation, ended the meeting. She told the other team members to leave, saying she would have an interview with me.
Probably, outside, they will talk a lot about what happened just now.
They’ll say things like it was unexpected, or that I didn’t seem like that kind of person but actually had a bad personality, without any filter.
‘I wish I was still a student.’
I smiled bitterly, thinking of the previous dimension. If I had been more careful with Onyu, wouldn’t I still be in that world? I regretted it, but it was already in the past.
“Inho. Do you have any complaints about me?”
“No. I just want to leave early because I’m not feeling well from working overtime.”
“I didn’t know you were the kind of person who could talk so coldly.”
She pointed to my employee ID with her finger. In the employee ID, a handsome man was smiling innocently, but I felt that the man in this photo was a frustrating pushover.
“It depends on the situation.”
“That….”
Continuous back-and-forth. She asked about the changes in my feelings, and the conversation proceeded in a way that I blocked her questions at the source.
After about five minutes of meaningless back-and-forth, she raised both hands slightly as if declaring surrender and shook her head.
“Okay. Go in. You’ve been working a lot of overtime lately, so you must be tired.”
“Thank you.”
As I bowed and tried to leave the conference room, she called me back.
“Inho. By any chance… you haven’t received a job offer or anything, have you?”
“No, I haven’t.”
She approached me closely and put her hand on my shoulder, bringing her face close.
“If you hate the company for any reason, tell me anytime. I’ll take care of all that.”
The eyes of her smiling face were murky and turbid.
