EP1. Strange Phenomenon Adaptation Period-4

Adaptation to the Abnormal Phenomenon – 4
The house was more organized than I expected. Onyu must have taken care of it while I was in the hospital.
I couldn’t quite grasp what kind of person ‘I’ was before the accident, but the traces throughout the house gave me some clues.
“……..”
There were many small frames on the shoe rack and shelves, mostly photos of my parents and ‘me’ as a child.
I guess I must have been someone who missed their family a lot? Even as a high school student, I still kept old photos.
Raniel, that damn pigeon, used the term ‘Dimensional Shift,’ but this is possession. My soul has been superimposed on someone else.
That’s why I feel frustrated.
Can I imitate the personality and habits that have been formed over 18 years?
Can I avoid making the people here who know me feel alienated?
Honestly, I’m not confident.
I made up the excuse of amnesia, but I don’t think I can use amnesia as a shield forever. I have to live a new life.
“So, does anything come to mind?”
I wandered around, touching the furniture, and Onyu followed behind me.
“No, this is a problem. I really don’t remember anything.”
“It’s okay. You’ll remember soon.”
No, it’s not okay. Because I’ll never remember the original owner of this body.
‘I wish I had possessed a newborn; it would have been less of a hassle.’
Going up to the second floor, there were two rooms.
“One was the storage room you used, and this is your room.”
What kind of person was I before? I carefully opened the door.
“Well, there’s nothing special.”
There really wasn’t anything special. Various textbooks, a computer, a bed. It was a typical high school student’s room.
“What were you expecting?”
At my dry words, Onyu retorted as if dumbfounded.
“No, I mean. Just a normal room?”
At this rate, I can’t even guess what kind of person I was. Should I open the computer after Onyu leaves?
“I don’t know what kind of amazing thing you were expecting, but your room has always been like this. I cleaned it while you were in the hospital, but I didn’t touch anything without permission.”
“I didn’t suspect you that much.”
“Ah, anyway, unpack your things and rest. Should I make you something if you’re hungry?”
“I had lunch in the hospital basement. I’m not really hungry.”
“Really? Then what do you want to do now? Should I get you a drink?”
I expected it, but Onyu kept trying to stick close to me. Whenever I tried to think about something else, she would immediately start talking to me.
As if she was trying to prevent me from thinking about anything else.
“No, I just want to be alone for a bit, is that okay?”
But I need time to sort things out. If I leave it like this, Onyu will try to stay by my side forever.
Whether it’s out of concern or obsession.
“Why?”
She tilted her head and asked. I don’t know if it’s innate cuteness or intentional, but I didn’t find it cute; it seemed more like a refusal, which made me uncomfortable.
I carefully chose my words.
“I just want to be alone at home. I don’t remember anything, so I’m feeling confused.”
“Wouldn’t it be better to have someone you can rely on by your side at times like this?”
If I deny it here, I’ll upset her.
“You’re right. But I’ve been with you the whole time I was in the hospital. I need some time alone too.”
I presented my opinion while acknowledging her.
“……..”
Still not satisfied, she glared at me now.
“We’ll be together all the time from now on. And you have to go home anyway.”
“…That’s true.”
I don’t know if the words ‘all the time from now on’ worked, but Onyu backed down faster than I thought.
“It’s okay if I don’t make you dinner? You always eat so poorly…”
I put my hand on Onyu’s shoulder and patted it a few times, and her face turned red.
“I know how to cook too. I can make simple stews.”
I’ve been living on my own for years; I can make simple dishes. Don’t underestimate working adults. You high schooler.
“Really? Well, if you say so.”
I walked her to the front door.
“Get some rest, and call me if you have any questions. You didn’t forget my phone password, did you?”
My phone password is 1214. Her birthday.
“Yeah. I’ll call you if anything comes up.”
She said, putting her finger on the back of her shoe and pulling her foot in. Her lowered face was near my solar plexus.
“Oh, right.”
She continued to put on her shoes and suddenly said as if she had remembered something.
“You don’t know how to cook anything.”
Onyu smiled, lifting her head. I felt a chill run down my spine as if she had seen through me.
“……”
“Get some rest. See you tomorrow.”
She opened the door and left, but I couldn’t leave the entrance for a while.
After sending her off, dinner.
I roughly ate cup ramen for dinner. It seemed her words weren’t a lie; the cupboard was full of instant meals.
This kid. You should take care of yourself when you live alone. I grumbled for no reason and sat in front of the computer.
“Nothing.”
I didn’t feel any sense of difference because it was the same Korea, but when I went online, there were differences between the world I lived in and this one.
First of all, some of the globally popular games didn’t exist, and there were celebrities who didn’t exist.
“This is really a different world.”
I acknowledged the possession and pushed the chair back.
Wait. I forgot something important.
“I can’t stand not having porn from another world.”
This bastard must have hidden it somewhere.
