EP1. Shin On-yu-3

Shin Onyu-3
Closing the door, I searched the room thoroughly.
From the closet to under the bed. Just in case, I opened the window and looked around.
Whether fortunately or unfortunately, there were no traces of anyone.
No, it’s unfortunate.
Because I’m practically trapped in this room.
I put my ear to the door and listened for any movement.
Thump, thump.
My heart was pounding violently, and cold sweat trickled down my chin and onto my neck.
The fear that arose in my mind amplified every little noise I had previously dismissed, giving it meaning and inflating its size.
Fear and imagination go well together, creating a situation where I’m facing a vicious intruder behind the locked door.
Was I mistaken? Did I unconsciously throw away the triangle kimbap wrapper and then forget about it?
No. I clearly saw it on the table.
Someone definitely came into this house.
I don’t know if they’re still in the house. No, there’s a high probability they are.
I focus all my attention on my ears, trying to discern the situation outside.
No matter how still someone is, you can usually sense their presence.
Hmm… it doesn’t seem like anyone’s there.
I want to throw open the door, turn on all the lights in the house, and scream, but I can’t bring myself to do it.
‘Shit, shit… why is this happening to me of all people…’
Someone help me.
Then suddenly, a good idea came to me.
‘Call Onyu.’
If I say I’m scared or anxious, Onyu will definitely come, knowing her personality.
I didn’t think about what would happen if Onyu met the intruder in the house.
No, it was closer to ‘who cares?’ I’m scared.
I take out my phone and send her a message.
–
Are you asleep?
–
No, I was just about to go to bed.
She replies almost as soon as I send it.
–
Oh, I see.
–
Why? Is something wrong?
She’s quick to notice.
–
No, I’m just a little anxious and scared to be alone. The house is big too.
–
Really? Should I come over now?
Onyu’s overprotectiveness shines at times like this. Thanks to her, I can breathe a sigh of relief.
-It’s late, are you sure it’s okay?
I ask out of courtesy. She won’t refuse anyway.
–
I live right next door. My mom and dad will understand.
–
I’d be grateful. I’m in the middle of something right now, so just open the front door and come in.
–
Okay.
Now, when Onyu comes in, there will be some noise if someone is in the house.
Then I can catch the intruder with Onyu. It’s 2 against 1, so we should be able to subdue them.
The fact that reinforcements are coming gives me more courage than before, and I can finally move away from the door.
It was only after I sat down in front of the computer that was still on that I remembered I had downloaded the Word file earlier.
“Let’s see… the most recent one.”
I open the most recent Word file.
XX Year X Month X Day.
Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look.
Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look.
“What… is this…”
Neat font and not-so-neat content. Goosebumps rose again.
Even when I turned the page, it was the same words repeated. The small scroll bar on the right gave me an idea of how many pages this Word document had.
Even as I scrolled down, it only said, ‘Don’t look.’
I grabbed the scroll bar and dragged it all the way down.
Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look.
I told you not to look.
.
.
.
Shin Onyu.
Knock knock.
I hear a knock.
“Inho, it’s me. Open the door.”
A voice that makes the listener feel good is heard from beyond the door.
“Oh, just a second.”
“What? Were you watching porn?”
“No, I wasn’t.”
I deleted all the downloaded Word files and logged out of the cloud storage.
As I responded to Onyu’s urging to open the door quickly, I grabbed the doorknob, and a thought suddenly occurred to me.
But, why didn’t I hear the front door opening?
