The Saint of Another World – 5

The Saint of Another World – 5

The meal ended more uncomfortably than I had anticipated.

I expected to be a spectacle, like a monkey in a zoo, but I didn’t think they would stare so openly.

One Priest even pretended to pass by naturally, walking back and forth in front of me.

He didn’t disappear from my sight until I had emptied the stew in my bowl.

    “Haa….”

After the meal, I was wandering around with Priest Alerio, who had eaten with me, ostensibly to aid digestion.

More accurately, Priest Alerio was following me around, introducing me to the place.

This place, the Solarium Order headquarters, is largely divided into three areas.

    [Solarichia]

The area where the Grand Cathedral, where I drew the sword and proved I was the Saint, is located.

In addition to the Grand Cathedral, the Pope’s office and the Bishop’s residences are also located here.

It is also the most important place in the Order headquarters.

    [Solarumea]

    The Holy Knight Order headquarters.

The most powerful force of the Solarium Order trains and lives here.

    [Solacusia]

    The Inquisitor’s headquarters.

It is the smallest of the areas and is said to be located a little away from the center.

Sister Maria, whom I chose, will also be in the convent in this Solacusia.

It’s called a convent, but with this kind of building layout, it seems like just a dormitory.

“The Pope has recommended that you freely look around today. You are free to go wherever the Saint wishes.”

    “Hmm… where should I go?”

“You can always visit Solarichia, where the Saint’s room is located, so how about going to Solarumea or Solacusia?”

Come to think of it, there is something I want to confirm.

“Priest Alerio, you said there is a Holy Knight training center in Solarumea, right?”

“Yes, that’s right. To be precise, it is in charge of the final training of apprentice knights who have successfully completed the training at the training centers located in each diocese.”

“Then, I would like to go there once. I’m curious to see what kind of training those called the Divine Sword receive.”

I smiled, and Priest Alerio looked slightly surprised.

I don’t know if Priest Alerio had told them in advance, but as soon as I entered Solarumea, I often saw Holy Knights with tight discipline passing by with orderly movements.

Their white armor was so shiny that it sparkled in the sunlight.

“Everyone seems to be taking good care of their equipment.”

I hope they didn’t do this just because I was coming.

As I followed the road closer to the training center, I heard a familiar sound.

The sound of various weapons clashing, which I had heard endlessly in the previous dimension.

In the wide open space, knights were standing in rows.

    “Hap!”

    “Hap!”

    “Hap!”

The shouts merged into one, echoing through the dusty open space.

    “You can watch from here.”

I stood in a place with adequate shade from the trees and watched the training.

There is something I want to confirm.

    “Hana!”

At the instructor’s shout, the apprentice knights swung their swords.

Perhaps because they are not yet familiar with the sword, there is a lot of awkwardness in their form.

    “Hana!”

A posture with an unbalanced center of gravity.

A form in which they are being swung by the sword, not swinging the sword.

    Those things come into view.

    Well, this is knowledge.

Because the memories of what I learned from Master have not disappeared.

    I close my eyes.

    And quietly observe the inside.

It’s not there. There is no Inner Force.

It’s not that it’s empty because it’s not filled.

It is in a state where filling it is impossible.

“Could it be that there is no concept of Inner Force here?”

    “Pardon?”

    “No, it’s nothing.”

Well, it would be more common not to have Inner Force.

Having been with Master for a long time, I mistakenly thought it was natural to have Inner Force and Inner Force.

If there is no Inner Force, it would be impossible to strengthen the body with Inner Force.

It would be impossible to inflict meaningful damage with this body.

I can use Martial arts, but since I can’t infuse Inner Force, my body will just move ridiculously.

    “Alright, take a break!”

Whether it was the designated time, the instructor shouted loudly, and the apprentice knights moved somewhere in a line.

It feels exactly like a military training camp.

“Priest, may I go over there for a moment?”

I moved my feet before even hearing Alerio’s answer.

I will be able to confirm it now.

There was a bit of commotion in the training center at my visit.

The apprentice knights sat in their seats with their backs at right angles, looking only at the front, and the instructor was stiff, as if he was very nervous.

“It is an honor to meet the Saint! I am Andrea, the training instructor!”

    Booming.

A sound louder than the one the apprentice knights made earlier struck my ears.

“Yes, nice to meet you. Brother Andrea, the reason I came here is…”

“I, I know that the Commander is still with the Pope!”

    Ouch, my ears hurt.

“Ah, I didn’t come to see the Commander.”

    I glance at his waist.

A sword is in the scabbard.

“Shall we walk for a moment?”

I slowly walked to the center of the open space.

Alerio and Andrea followed me, not knowing why.

Arriving at the center of the dusty open space, I turned to look at Andrea.

“Brother Andrea. I know this is a strange thing to say, but don’t be surprised.”

    “Yes, I understand.”

    “Draw your sword.”

    “Pardon?”

    Andrea asks back.

    His right hand twitched.

“Don’t be afraid, please draw your sword.”

He seemed hesitant, so I said it one more time.

    “Yes? Yes… I understand.”

Perhaps because he still didn’t understand my intentions, he drew his sword.

Hmm… certainly, his posture is better than the apprentice knights.

    “Brother Andrea. Swing that sword.”

Andrea, who was facing me, turned his body to the left at my words.

“No, you have to look at me.”

    “Saint?”

Priest Alerio, who was behind me, was startled.

“S, Saint. What are you saying?”

Andrea also opened his eyes wide and only turned his head to look at me.

    I walked back to Andrea.

    “Don’t worry. Swing your sword.”

    “B, but S, Saint.”

The hand holding the sword began to tremble.

I could hear the rattling sound from the armor he was wearing.

I looked straight into his eyes and gave him a reassuring smile.

    “Trust me.”

There was still surprise and shock in Andrea’s eyes, but the hesitation he had at first seemed to have subsided a little.

Andrea nodded resolutely and raised his sword upwards.

“Brother Andrea, what are you doing?”

“It’s okay, Brother Andrea. Swing your sword.”

I say again to him, who is holding the sword high but unable to bring it down.

    “I, I trust you, Saint!”

Andrea screamed and swung his sword down.

    And, I could see it.

The process of the sword slowly coming down.

    I took a step back.

    It was just one step.

    -Clang!

The sword that Andrea swung fell to the ground.

“D, did you just dodge that?”

Andrea, who swung the sword, spoke first.

“Brother Andrea’s faith is truly deep.”

    I patted his shoulder.

It was difficult to resist the corners of my mouth rising without me knowing.

In fact, I feel so good that I want to dance.

    My prediction was correct.

What I learned has not disappeared.

    It was a meaningful discovery.
