EP.9 Covering One’s Eyes and Playing Hide-and-Seek-1
by Shini
Blindfolded and Playing
The dawn’s temperature was indifferent to the season.
Chilly air snaked in through the tiny cracks in the window, forming long strands.
This cool outsider lingered in the warm room for a moment before descending.
And its landing spot was Inho’s face, as he dozed in a light, hangover-induced sleep.
With a splitting headache, Inho furrowed his brow, his eyes still closed.
He felt as if a press was crushing his head and slowly opened his eyes.
In his blurry vision, he saw Maria’s blonde hair.
Inho stopped opening his eyes and slowly assessed the situation through narrowed slits.
“Hiss… ha….”
Maria’s face was pressed against his stomach as she took deep breaths.
Her head was turned downwards, so all he could see was her abundant blonde hair.
The veil she always wore was nowhere to be seen, and her blonde hair, like a curtain, was scattered messily across Inho’s stomach.
“Hiss, ha.”
Maria breathed again.
Her breath tickled his lower body.
Inho involuntarily shuddered at the subtle stimulation.
“……”
Maria’s breathing stopped abruptly.
A long silence followed.
“Saint?”
Her voice was cautious, as if trying to confirm, as if hoping it wasn’t true.
Inho closed his eyes again.
The remaining alcohol in his system made it difficult to pretend to sleep. He calmed his mind as much as possible.
-Swish
A sound of something moving. The sound of clothes and blankets rustling.
Inho suppressed the urge to open his eyes and squeezed them shut even tighter.
Hoo. Hot air tickled his face.
The sound of breathing grew closer.
He was still suffering from a hangover, but now he was so tense that he forgot about it.
He was wary of Maria’s sudden actions.
If he was prepared, he could react to Maria’s actions, but at this distance, he would be caught before he could do anything.
Unfortunately, there was an absolute difference in power between him and her.
Should he swallow?
Inho had a stupid thought.
Hoo. Hot air tickled his face again.
Inho tossed and turned, pretending to sleep.
He pretended to sleep as naturally as possible, so that Maria wouldn’t notice.
He licked his lips, moved his body, and scratched his face from time to time.
Hoo. He could feel her breath.
It was closer than before.
“Are you asleep?”
Maria’s voice fell onto his nose.
“……”
Her voice sounded unsure, so Inho closed his eyes even tighter.
“You’re asleep.”
Maria asked again, as if confirming.
“Then… keep sleeping.”
Maria’s voice faded away.
And then, the heavy weight was placed back on his stomach.
Maria had put her head back.
He could feel her breath tickling his lower body again.
“Hiss… ha….”
Maria inhaled repeatedly and moved her arm downwards.
Inho turned his head, pretending to sleep.
Maria’s private time continued, and Inho let go of his mind, as if resigned to his fate.
There were many factors that made it difficult to sleep, but he could still sleep.
When he opened his eyes again, the morning sun was rising.
Considering that he had first woken up at dawn, he hadn’t slept for very long.
He confirmed that he no longer felt the heavy weight on his stomach or the breath tickling his lower body, and then he slightly raised his body.
“……”
Maria had already gotten out of bed and was lying on her side next to him, asleep.
‘Did she get tired and fall asleep?’
Inho was confused as to whether she had good self-control or was thorough.
Inho stared at her.
The self-pleasure she had performed at dawn was shocking, but it wasn’t as if he didn’t know about her obsession.
Rather, he thought it had ended very gentlemanly.
If it had been Namgung Soyou, she would have taken off his pants and climbed on top of him, whether Inho was asleep or not.
Remembering the nights he had spent tossing and turning, Inho was grateful for Maria’s gentleness.
Inho reached out and stroked Maria’s hair.
Her hair, without the veil, tangled in his fingers.
“Umm….”
Maria opened her eyes at Inho’s touch.
-Blink blink
Maria’s beautiful green eyes looked at Inho.
And Maria’s face slowly flushed.
“Did you sleep well?”
Inho chuckled.
“Ah… um… yes.”
The Maria from dawn was nowhere to be seen, and she murmured in a very small voice, like a new bride on her first morning.
“I think I drank too much yesterday.”
“Ah… yes. You were very drunk yesterday, so I brought you to your room.”
Inho got up and picked up the small kettle placed by his head.
Maria stirred, saying she would do it, but Inho raised his hand to stop her.
Inho filled a glass with water and drank it down.
The water, which had turned cold overnight, quenched his thirst and relieved his dryness.
“I… I’m sorry for showing you my disheveled appearance.”
While pouring water into the cup two more times, Maria lowered her head and apologized.
It seemed that she had finally regained her senses completely.
“It can happen. You couldn’t sleep properly because you were watching over me, right?”
Maria smiled a pastel smile at Inho’s gentle consolation.
“…Can that happen?”
Maria made eye contact. Inho slightly averted his gaze from her intense stare and drank water again.
“…….”
Maria looked at the Saint’s profile as he drank water, as if she loved him.
The third morning in Madini Village had arrived.
