The Most Ironic Death – 2
A hastily devised plan is easily exposed.
I tricked Garam, telling her that Ho-cheol would be suspicious if I didn’t write ‘new’ as ‘vertical’ on purpose.
The innocent Garam followed my instructions and sent the message. Thirty minutes later, she strode towards me.
I thought it was bedtime, but seeing her stiff face, I knew that wasn’t the case.
“Ah… Father, this.”
She held out the phone she had taken.
It was the conversation history with Ho-cheol that I had dictated and she had typed.
“It’s not, is it?”
She knelt down, meeting my eye level.
“What?”
When I feigned ignorance, she slammed her fist on the table next to me.
-Crack
The table, split in half by her fist, fell apart.
“You wrote this vertically and sent it without me knowing, right?”
“You know now?”
I couldn’t hide it any longer, so I told the truth.
“……..”
She looked at me with a wounded expression.
Even in this situation, I felt a slight pang of sympathy for her. Was it because I was a hopeless fool?
“Do you… dislike me that much?”
She asked me, her face unwilling to accept the truth.
“I’ve said it before… but to be precise, I’ve never seen Garam as a romantic interest.”
If it were simply a matter of preference, I still think the scales are slightly tipped in favor of ‘like’.
However, there’s a condition attached.
She needs to stop her obsession and possessiveness towards me first.
“But… you’re so kind to me.”
“You seem to be mistaken after hearing some strange things, but no matter how much Garam tries to seduce me or wears revealing clothes, I don’t see Garam as a romantic interest.”
She’s just someone I want to support. Nothing more, nothing less.
Yeah, if I had ulterior motives and things had escalated to this point, I would have felt less wronged.
If I had pursued a woman to satisfy my desires and ended up in this mess, I would have considered it my own fault and aimed for the next dimension.
But this time, I was trying to live a good life.
Even helping those in need. But I realized that I need to be more careful about the situation.
If I find myself in a similar situation in the future, I need to be more cautious.
“I hate you.”
The words that came from Garam’s small mouth as she glared at me were a cute expression of her anger.
“What are you going to do now? Are you going to hit me? Or kill me?”
I didn’t know if Ho-cheol had understood the message I sent.
If he had noticed it at the time of sending, the police should have already raided the place, but since everything was quiet, he probably didn’t know…
Well, who would think of it as a vertical message…
Now, all that was left for me was to be killed by Garam.
“No, I can’t hurt Father.”
She said through gritted teeth, then lifted me from the bed and sat me on the chair next to it.
“Instead, I’ll take away your freedom. Every time you do something wrong in the future, you’ll be punished like this.”
A tight leather belt wrapped around my wrist, fixing it to the chair.
I don’t know where she got it, but a thick rope secured my waist to the chair.
First, I was bound by the ankle chains, and then I was bound to the chair.
Not even the Demon King of any dimension would be sealed like this.
She checked the knots, tightening them around my body.
The rope pressed against my stomach, making me feel a little suffocated.
-Ding-dong
While she was busy burying me, the doorbell rang.
“At this hour…?”
She glanced at me and left the room.
Through the slightly open door, I could hear the conversation at the entrance.
“Who is it?”
A gruff voice came from the intercom.
“Pest control.”
“Pest control?”
“Yes, didn’t you know? It’s to spray for cockroaches.”
“At this hour?”
“We gave you a notice last time. That’s strange.”
“Ah, no. Come in.”
The front door opened, and I could hear someone entering.
Behind the sound of footsteps taking off their shoes and walking, I could hear Garam’s hurried steps following the sound.
“Let’s see. Balcony done, washing machine area done, bathroom done…”
I could faintly hear the sound of a pen checking off items on a piece of paper.
“Don’t you need to do that room?”
“Ah… that’s a room that shouldn’t be opened, so it’s okay.”
“It’s more effective to put the spray everywhere, though.”
“It’s really okay. Thank you for your hard work.”
“Yes… then I’ll be going…”
“Huh?”
With the sound of rushing footsteps, the door burst open.
A man wearing a hat and a mask stood in the doorway.
“I told you not to go in there!! Aaaaaah!!”
Garam screamed and grabbed the man’s shoulder to turn him around. As soon as she did, her body convulsed and she collapsed.
“What, what is it?”
As I muttered in bewilderment, the man came towards me, throwing off his hat and mask.
“Brother!”
You… you little… thank you so much.
“Ho-cheol!!”
“Wow, what’s going on here? I brought a stun gun just in case, and it looks like I made the right call.”
“Yeah, good job. But untie me.”
“Okay. Wow, you’re really tied up tight. And what’s with the chains on your ankles? Wow…”
“It’s complicated to explain. Hey, when are the police coming? You should have waited for the police to arrive. Why did you come in here alone, worried like that?”
“The police?”
Huh?
“Didn’t you… call the police?”
“Brother, you don’t like calling the police. Last time you had a car accident, you told me never to call the police. You said you had too many entanglements and it would be troublesome to meet the police…”
Ah…
Ah…!
“Hey, you…”
You little… when did I… no, that’s what the previous me said…
Anyway, you stupid idiot.
How could you come here alone without knowing what the situation is… you idiot!
“G-get your hands off…”
Behind Ho-cheol, Garam, who had collapsed, staggered to her feet like a zombie.
Ho-cheol chuckled as he looked at Garam, who was rising with an eerie voice.
“Hey, don’t worry. I can’t even beat one woman.”
Ho-cheol, who was smiling as if to reassure me, looked so uneasy.
