EP.4 Grade 2 Dimension Manager God Nibiru’s Depression-2
by Shini
The Depression of Nibiru, Level 2 Dimension Management – 2
Ranael froze, utterly taken aback by the unexpected words.
Nibir, renowned for her benevolent seniority, uncharacteristically exerted Absolute Power, pressing Ranael.
“Ranael… tell me. Where is that soul?”
“That’s…”
“You won’t tell me?”
Though her voice was gentle, the weight behind her words made Ranael hesitate.
“Then, I’m not your senior anymore… I’m 2nd Class Dimension Management God Nibir.”
-Snap-
Nibir stepped back, and with a flick of her fingers, the teacups and table vanished.
The comfortable wooden chair Ranael had been sitting on transformed into a strangely uncomfortable iron one.
Nibir, who had always been told to fold away her white wings because they were too flamboyant, spread them wide and looked down at Ranael from mid-air.
“3rd Class Dimension Management God Ranael.”
Nibir spoke softly, but her voice, amplified many times over, echoed through the space.
“Y-Yes!!!”
Sensing the sudden shift in the situation, Ranael finally came to her senses and looked up, her face tense.
A shower of light that looked like falling feathers.
Ranael, well aware of the destructive power hidden beneath that sacredness, finally opened her mouth.
“I… I accidentally killed one more person.”
“What kind of accident?”
“I forgot that I had extracted them from my dimension…”
“Does that even make sense? You forgot someone you extracted with your own hands?”
It sounded like an absurd excuse, so Nibir was about to scold her but paused.
Just in case, she asked Ranael.
“Don’t tell me… you… you delegated the extractions from your dimension to your subordinates too?”
“……”
“Ugh… I’m going crazy.”
Nibir covered her eyes with her hand and muttered.
What kind of insane god would tell a lower-ranking god to sacrifice souls under their jurisdiction?
“You must have been busy, right? That’s why you had your subordinates do it?”
Though they were gods, there was a hierarchy and each had their own duties.
They might be absolute beings to mortals, but in the world of gods, 3rd and 4th Class gods were errand runners.
Having done a lot of work herself when she was a 3rd Class god, Nibir wondered if there might be a mitigating reason and asked again.
“…It’s not that, it’s just that…”
But her junior shattered that expectation mercilessly.
-BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!!
Nibir’s wrath, famous for never getting angry, shook her space.
After a storm had passed, Nibir, her anger subsided, asked Ranael.
“Okay… putting your mistake aside. Which dimension is that soul in now?”
“I’m sorry! I don’t know either!”
Ranael shouted, prostrating herself.
“No… you sent it to another dimension. From what I see, you made it so that when they die, they move to another dimension. Shouldn’t there be coordinate formulas?”
“It’s a Complete Random Dimension Transfer Art, so I can’t track it either.”
“It’s getting worse and worse the more I hear. Aren’t you curious how I found out about this?”
“H-How did you find out?”
“The soul you sent came to the dimension where I am the Chief God. Thanks to you, the causality is a complete mess.”
“…I’m sorry.”
“Actually, I can tolerate this to some extent. It wouldn’t matter if you were a 3rd Class god under my management… but you’re not.”
“…….”
“The reason I called you here is to let you know that we need to find that soul and bring it back before the Management Headquarters notices this.”
Nibir paused for a moment and took a breath.
“I think the soul must have rubbed you the wrong way, so you did something like this… but even if they are mortals, you should treat the sacrificed souls with respect.”
“Yes….”
“If they were possessed in a dimension managed by another 3rd or 4th Class god, I could cover it up. Rank is power. But… it’s difficult if it’s the same 2nd Class god. It hasn’t been long since I was promoted to 2nd Class either.”
“Y-Yes, that’s right…”
“And… if the situation becomes the worst-case scenario and the soul is possessed in a dimension managed by a 1st Class god or higher and it gets caught…”
“If it gets caught…?”
“You’ll not only have your divine authority revoked… but you’ll probably go to hell, right?”
“W-What should I do?”
“You didn’t even think about that before you started this… Anyway, find the soul quickly. That’s your only way to survive.”
“Yes…”
Nibir, having issued an eviction order to her junior with a completely dejected face, pinched the bridge of her nose for a while even after Ranael left.
To think that a god would have to feel a stress headache.
“She’s a good kid…”
She knew very well that Ranael wasn’t a bad person at heart, just vain and short-sighted.
Nibir, who had been floating in the air, lost in thought for a while, seemed to have made up her mind and came down to the ground.
“I should help her a little.”
She waved her hand in the air, and complex drawings began to appear on the floor.
Red light leaked out along the lines of the drawings and soon burst into flames.
As the fire that had been heating the space for a while subsided, a charred human figure appeared within it.
Nibir reached out and stroked what was presumed to be the human’s head.
A faint light spread from the point where her hand touched.
Soon, the light enveloped her entire body, and new flesh sprouted from the charred lump of charcoal.
“……”
The woman, who had returned to her original form, showed no reaction.
She was just looking at her hands, gauging her condition.
“Are you awake?”
“…Who?”
As the woman raised her head with a dazed look, Nibir smiled brightly and said.
“I’m 2nd Class Dimension Management God Nibir. Um… well. Would it be easier to understand if I said I was a god from your world?”
“A god… you are. Then, God. Why did you call me? I thought I was going to hell for killing people.”
“That’s right. You killed a lot of innocent people. You burned them alive too.”
“No, I don’t regret killing those vermin. The only person I killed was one person. If I hadn’t sent him there… he could have lived.”
The woman completely denied Nibir’s words.
“Ahem… Anyway, I found out that there were unavoidable circumstances… that led you to do such a thing. I called you here to pardon you.”
“A pardon? I don’t need anything like that… I have to keep suffering. I can’t be comfortable. God. Please send me to hell.”
“The person you thought you killed might still be alive, you know?”
At Nibir’s words, starlight began to twinkle in her dazed eyes.
“What do you mean…? Alive? Is he alive?”
“Yes. He’s alive. However, he’s in a very far place. I don’t know where he is right now either.”
“I see. Then you must have something you want from me to call me here.”
“Hehe, you’re quick on the uptake. I guess that’s because you were a resourceful office worker?”
Nibir cleared her throat and looked down at the frail mortal, saying.
“I need you to do some work with me. Mina.”
