EP.4 Grade 2 Dimension Manager God Nibiru’s Depression-1
by Shini
The Depression of Nibiru, Level 2 Dimension Management – 1
A woman sips well-brewed tea.
The woman with silver hair cascading down like a waterfall sat alone in a vast space containing only a chair and a table.
Her gaze was fixed on something.
Setting down her teacup, she crossed her arms and tapped her elbow with her fingers, as if counting time.
Soon, the space vibrated, and a small crack appeared where the woman was looking.
The sound of high heels echoed.
As someone in a dress entered with pure white wings spread wide, the woman drinking tea slightly raised her hand.
“It’s been a while.”
“Oh, senior~”
The visitor smiled brightly and rushed towards the woman, her heels clicking rapidly.
Her wings flapped wildly up and down as she ran.
-Snap!
The woman snapped her fingers, and a chair appeared opposite her.
The visitor naturally sat down in the chair, her large wings blocking the woman’s view.
“Ranael. Put your wings away. It’s not like you can’t get rid of them, so why do you insist on showing them off?”
“They’re cool~”
Her junior, Ranael, said playfully, and the woman glared at her.
Ranael coughed a few times after receiving the look and folded her wings.
“You’ve been a god for over 500 years. When are you going to stop acting so high and mighty? You’re only a Level 3.”
“But I’m still better than a Level 4. Ah~ I want to level up to Level 2 like you, senior.”
Seeing her junior’s eyes sparkling as she looked at her, Nibir, the Level 2 Dimension Management God, snapped her fingers and conjured another teacup.
“Don’t talk nonsense and drink. I only just reached Level 2, and you think you can become a Level 2?”
“If I work hard, maybe? You leveled up to Level 2 in the shortest amount of time, senior. Please tell me your secret.”
Ranael said, politely raising her teacup, and Nibir chuckled.
“Is there really a method? Just work hard and stuff.”
“So, what kind of work is there?”
“Ranael, how many dimensions are you managing right now?”
She asked casually, and Ranael pursed her lips, looking up as she tried to recall.
“I have one dimension where I am the Chief God. And I have 252 Level 4 gods under me, so… 253 dimensions.”
“Right, if you solve the problems that arise in those 253 dimensions well, you might get promoted. Didn’t you avoid extracting souls from the dimensions you manage this time due to the dimensional rift stabilization?”
“Ah, yes. I sacrificed one person from the dimension I directly manage, and my Level 4 subordinates sacrificed twelve people from their dimensions, so I extracted a total of thirteen people.”
Nibir’s eyes flashed sharply as she listened to her junior while drinking her tea.
“Is that so?”
There was weight in Nibir’s words.
“Are you sure it’s thirteen?”
“Yes, it’s correct. One from my dimension. Twelve from my subordinates…”
“Good. You need to count carefully. It’ll be a headache later if you kill too few or too many.”
“But senior, I’m curious. They’re just mortals anyway, does the number really matter?”
“Did you forget everything you learned in class? How is someone like you a Level 3?”
“I just forgot because it’s been so long.”
Huu… Nibir sighed deeply and opened her mouth.
“Okay, then here’s a question. If a dimensional distortion occurs due to a problem with causality, what should a Dimension Management God do?”
“The god designated by the Dimension Management Headquarters must sacrifice the allotted number of souls from the dimension where they are the Chief God or from the dimensions managed by their lower-ranking gods.”
“Then why do we have to sacrifice souls?”
“In exchange for the future possibilities that the souls possess, we correct the distorted causality.”
Ranael, seemingly proud of answering her senior’s questions without hesitation, smiled triumphantly after finishing her answer.
However, her senior’s worried expression deepened.
“Then here’s an additional question. Why can the soul of a mere mortal correct the distorted causality of the entire dimension?”
“Uh… that’s…”
“Time’s up. Time out. It’s because the souls sacrificed are the most noble souls in that dimension.”
“Ah, that’s right. I forgot.”
Nibir’s barrage of questions didn’t end.
“What are the characteristics of a noble soul?”
“Uh…”
“Your studying was useless, huh? A noble soul has the potential to become a Level 4 god, so it has a status equivalent to a god.”
“Ah, that’s right… hahaha…”
“Noble souls are very, very precious, so they must be handled with care, and the god must show respect for the sacrificed soul. These are things in the manual, did you forget them all?”
Sensing that the atmosphere was becoming tense, Ranael, who had been sitting comfortably, straightened her posture like a newly enlisted private.
“Okay, then here’s the last question. You couldn’t have forgotten this one, so I hope you answer accurately. Understand?”
“Yes… yes!”
Nibir, gripping her teacup so tightly that it seemed like it would shatter, leaned forward and asked Ranael.
“That soul you accidentally killed one extra of in your dimension… where is that soul now?”
