On the Way to Anhui – 4

Only ashes remained where the storm of Black flame had swept through.

Nearly thirty thousand strong, the Martial Arts Alliance’s elite forces had been halved in number, and the Cult’s People, witnessing their leader’s immense power, had their morale skyrocket.

“Waaaaaah!! For the Black Heaven Cult!!”

“Eat this!! You filthy orthodox bastards!!”

The Three Demons and the Cult’s People at the vanguard clashed with the enemy’s front lines.

A collision of massive human waves.

Seen from above, the clash resembled two snakes coiling around each other, mouths agape.

    -Clang, clang

    The sound of weapons colliding.

    “Hap!”

With a shout, Fist Demon unleashed a punch, and the bodies of those in its direct path exploded.

Flesh scattered around, and Youngma clicked his tongue at the gruesome sight.

    “Disgusting.”

“Can’t you just say it’s overwhelming power?”

To only have that reaction after seeing such magnificent Martial arts. Fist Demon grumbled.

    “We’re in battle. Focus.”

Sword Demon, who had silently arrived behind them, spoke.

    He wielded a massive sword.

Unlike ordinary swords, its blade was wide and long, appearing too heavy to even lift without considerable training.

Sword Demon, in a horse stance, lowered the sword towards the ground.

As he twisted his waist, one of the Cult’s People blew a whistle.

    -Peeeeeeeeep

At the sound, like an air raid siren, the Cult’s People, who had been fighting fiercely with weapons locked, retreated in perfect order.

    “What’s going on?”

An officer of the Martial Arts Alliance, watching the scene from the command tent, muttered.

    -Shivers

Even from a considerable distance, the Killing intent emanating from Sword Demon enveloped the tent.

And the Alliance forces directly exposed to that Killing intent froze in place.

    “E, everyone, ru, run…!”

Someone, regaining their senses faster than others, ordered a retreat, but Sword Demon’s slash was faster than the order could be conveyed.

    -Whoosh

Sword Demon swung his sword mightily, using his waist, and a loud sound echoed.

    “Huh…?”

Scattered voices arose from here and there.

Even as they fell, they couldn’t comprehend their condition.

Their waists had been cleanly severed, leaving only their upper bodies to fall to the ground while their lower halves remained standing.

    “Ugh….”

Youngma groaned at the sight, even more horrific than the carnage Fist Demon had created.

Regardless of Youngma’s reaction, Sword Demon turned to Youngma and Fist Demon and said,

“To minimize the Cult’s People’s casualties, we must move first.”

    “Yes.”

Filled with spirit, Youngma and Fist Demon shot forward, and the Cult’s People, who had retreated to avoid Sword Demon’s slash, charged back in.

With the front lines breached by a single slash, the officers in the command tent became frantic.

    “Send the rear guard forward!”

“But then the rear will be vulnerable.”

“We’re throwing everything we have at the front, what does the rear matter!”

Amidst the chaos, the Black Heaven Cult’s forces were steadily approaching the center.

    “Stop!”

A massive iron bar slammed into the ground in front of the Three Demons, who were charging relentlessly.

The Three Demons stopped and looked at the group blocking their path.

“I commend your skill in breaking through the Martial Arts Alliance’s elite, but this is where it ends.”

The muscular man leading the group shouted resonantly.

    “Who are you?”

Fist Demon asked, and the man replied.

“I am Iron Fortress, Lee Ho!”

“I know of him as a man who uses sonic attacks. He’s the leader of Divinity, a group of the Alliance’s young martial artists.”

Youngma informed Sword Demon about Lee Ho, and Sword Demon frowned.

“Is it an organization like the Azure Dragon Unit and White Tiger Unit?”

“No. Unlike those regular organizations, Divinity is just a private group.”

    “Hmm…”

“What, is it just a social club?”

Sword Demon and Fist Demon sighed, seemingly deflated by Youngma’s explanation.

“We are Divinity! The future leaders of the Martial Arts world. Today, we will punish you and prove our greatness to the entire world.”

Lee Ho and the dozen or so martial artists following him confidently raised their spirits.

Sword Demon, who had been silently observing the scene, said to Youngma.

    “Youngma.”

    “Yes.”

As he answered, Youngma’s figure disappeared.

She soon emerged from Lee Ho’s shadow.

Whether his confident declaration was mere bluster or not, Lee Ho reacted to Youngma’s sudden appearance from the front.

    “Uwaaaaaaaah!”

Lee Ho distanced himself from Youngma and unleashed a roar infused with internal energy.

His roar chipped away at bricks and kicked up dust.

A small number of Black Heaven Cult’s People with lower levels of Martial arts collapsed, bleeding.

But that was it. There were no other significant effects.

Youngma, who he had expected to be pulverized by the voice amplified by internal energy, had long since vanished like smoke.

    “Where are you hiding?!”

Lee Ho, frantically searching for Youngma, abruptly turned around, feeling a chill behind him.

    “……”

His Divinity comrades had already become cold corpses.

The bodies of his comrades, their necks severed with a single stroke, lay scattered on the ground.

“Incompetent fools always try to mask themselves with pretentious names.”

Youngma sneered, twirling a dagger with a string attached to its hilt.

The spinning dagger rotated at high speed.

    “You, you bastard!!! Keuk!”

The dagger, launched at Lee Ho’s neck, pierced him as he was gathering internal energy to shout.

The gathered internal energy lost its target and exploded near his vocal cords.

    “Divinity, you say?”

Youngma smirked bitterly, watching the fountain of blood erupting.

    “You’re just Dick-vinity.”
