5 Years Later

    5 Years Later

    Anhui Blood Calamity.

It refers to the battle between the Murim and the Black Heaven Cult that occurred in Anhui five years ago.

The result of that battle, which caused many casualties, was none other than:

    The end of the Murim.

The various clans and sects that had gained power through their advanced Martial arts all vanished without a trace.

The Heavenly Demon, the victor of the Anhui Blood Calamity, had achieved his great ambition.

A world where the Murim no longer existed had come to pass.

The common people, who had been greatly or slightly influenced by their movements, came under the influence of the government.

Of course, it wasn’t as if forces trying to revive the Murim didn’t emerge again.

But each time, the Heavenly Demon would fly in and set those forces ablaze, eliminating them at the root.

    Thus, five years have passed.

Looking at the brightly rising moon, the Heavenly Demon savored his drink.

“Shall I bring you some snacks?”

It was Youngma, who had recently traveled around the world, looking for any Murim movements that might be stirring.

    “Sit down, too.”

The Heavenly Demon said, pointing to the refreshments that had already been brought out.

    “Yes.”

Youngma, sitting next to him, respectfully received the cup given by the Heavenly Demon.

Sipping the cold liquor and admiring the moon, the Heavenly Demon asked.

    “So, was there anything unusual?”

“No. The suspicious forces in Sichuan were just volunteer soldiers trying to protect themselves from bandits.”

“I see. Were there any rumors?”

“There was a rumor about a being called ‘Corpse Eater’.”

    “Corpse Eater?”

The Heavenly Demon chewed on the refreshments and asked back.

“Yes. It is said to be someone who disposes of thugs and bandits. They call him Corpse Eater because he makes their corpses disappear without a trace.”

“Not a Blood demon, is it?”

“No. It was different from that. It seems they were just given that name because they made the corpses disappear.”

“Hmm… The world is full of wonders. So… did you find out the identity of this Corpse Eater?”

“I couldn’t find out that far. However, there is a suspicious part.”

    “What part?”

“It’s the information that the Corpse Eater asked the residents after dealing with the bandits and thugs.”

Upon receiving a small note, the Heavenly Demon held it up to the moonlight.

Place names were written on the note.

    “A familiar place.”

    “Yes. Anhui, Sichuan, Henan.”

“Yes. This place in Anhui is where we fought five years ago. Sichuan is where I first saw Inho. Henan is…”

“Where the old Black Heaven Cult was located.”

    Youngma took over her words.

“Someone is following our traces… no, Inho’s traces.”

“Yes, but I don’t know why. I’ll find out more.”

“No, there’s no need for that.”

    “What do you mean…”

The Heavenly Demon gestured with his chin towards the figure standing outside the brushwood gate.

Only then did Youngma realize that someone had come, and she took out her weapon and became wary.

“Well, it doesn’t seem like you’ve come to fight. What brings you here?”

“I see you knew I was coming.”

A voice was heard from the figure outside the brushwood gate.

A soft voice. It was a woman.

“Well, I’ve known since an hour ago.”

The Heavenly Demon said, pouring another drink.

“So, what do you want to know? No, before that, I want to know why you, who have nothing to do with it, are looking for my disciple.”

“What if I’m looking because I’m not unrelated?”

Creak, the uninvited guest opened the brushwood gate and entered.

The figure revealed in the dim moonlight did not match the name Corpse Eater.

    ‘Elegant.’

The Heavenly Demon, taking in her appearance, threw the liquor into his mouth.

“Let me introduce myself first. My name is…”

As the Corpse Eater spoke her name, the Heavenly Demon’s eyes widened.

The Heavenly Demon poured more liquor into his glass.

Raising his hand, he overlapped the glass with the moon in the sky.

    -gulp

Taking another sip like that, the Heavenly Demon put down the glass and said.

“That name… I’ve heard of it.”
