You’re Asking the Obvious.

    You’re Asking the Obvious.

“Buying broken computers, TVs, air conditioners~”

The familiar sound, one that should never be heard here, came from outside.

Sweat trickled down the back of the man as he tried to pinpoint the direction of the sound.

Her sweat-slicked thigh brushed against the blanket. A bead of sweat ran down her neck and into the valley of her breasts.

The room was definitely sweltering. The earth, having absorbed the sun’s scorching heat, exhaled a hot sigh that filled the space.

It wasn’t the warmth of a balmy spring, nor the heat of passion between a man and a woman.

“As Young master already knows, it is no longer spring. The Start of Summer has already passed. Is it not hot now?”

As Chunhyang snapped her fingers, a wave of stifling heat washed over him. The air felt twice as hot as the temperature he had been sensing, filling his lungs.

Kang In-ho ran his fingers over his parched lips.

“Although it is complete hypnosis, there are many restrictions. It can only completely deceive a much lower being, and an equal being can immediately recognize the foreign feeling.”

Chunhyang explained in a soft voice.

“And if too much content is put into the hypnosis, that hypnosis will easily break.”

Like melting ice, the studio apartment began to melt away.

“You may have thought I manipulated many things… but in truth, I did not change much.”

Chunhyang gave a faint smile like a spring breeze.

“If you look at me with such eyes… I will be a little hurt.”

Chunhyang lowered her eyes, seemingly bothered by Inho’s gaze.

    “Hurt? After deceiving me?”

“I did not deceive Young master. I merely inserted the existence of ‘Chunhyang’ into this place.”

At Chunhyang’s words, Kang In-ho laughed in disbelief.

    “And that’s not deceiving me?”

At his words, Chunhyang carefully raised her head.

Chunhyang began to smooth out the crumpled bedding with her white hands.

“In reality, Yi Do-ryeong was planning to go to Hanyang, and Byeon Hakdo was a man who committed corruption.”

Having bought herself some time, Chunhyang carefully opened her mouth.

“Bangja was also a servant residing in Yi Do-ryeong’s house. Nothing has changed. It is just that I, as an existence, have been added to this Namwon.”

She scanned Kang In-ho’s face. Seeing that he had no intention of saying anything, Chunhyang continued.

    “Nothing has changed.”

“No, you interfered with my life.”

    “Young master’s life, you say?”

    Chunhyang tilted her head.

She put on an innocent face and asked Kang In-ho.

“Which life are you referring to? Are you calling this life in Joseon, which has not even been a year, a life?”

Chunhyang approached Kang In-ho, bracing her hands on the floor.

At a distance where they could feel each other’s breath, Chunhyang whispered.

“Or are you referring to the life before wandering through many worlds?”

    Chunhyang’s eyes smiled bewitchingly.

“You… what are you talking about? How could you….”

Kang In-ho could not continue, his mouth opening and closing like a goldfish.

“I am sorry to say, I have been peeking into Young master’s memories. Every night, by Young master’s side.”

It is just my meager talent. Chunhyang smiled.

“How much… how much did you see!”

As Kang In-ho shouted, Chunhyang covered her ears.

“Young master, please do not raise your voice. Even if you do not shout so loudly, I am engraving each and every one of Young master’s words in my heart.”

As Kang In-ho breathed roughly, Chunhyang pulled herself closer and sat next to him.

Chunhyang’s hand was placed on top of Kang In-ho’s hand. It was a warm sensation, but Kang In-ho’s skin crawled.

“I understand the part that Young master is worried about, but unfortunately, I have not seen all of Young master’s memories.

Only the scenery of the world where Young master resided, and the ‘original world’ that Young master wants to return to.

And as I traveled through many worlds, I saw the faces of the people Young master met in passing.

Young master’s world was truly beautiful. The sight of iron carriages moving, people being equal, and buildings and streets that looked like they were measured with a ruler was impressive.”

Chunhyang closed her eyes and recited the things she had seen.

    “How much did you see?”

“As I said, I could not see all the memories. I could not see Young master’s strong memories… that is, Young master’s precious memories.”

    “Why?”

At the question, Chunhyang’s brow furrowed for the first time.

“You have built relationships with interesting women.”

She spoke of things she did not want to remember, and her voice naturally sank.

Chunhyang folded her long fingers one by one and stared straight into his eyes.

“The woman made of iron was fascinating. Moving alive, yet not alive… an existence that was difficult for me to understand.

There was also a girl with flowing clothes and ornaments. The sight of her clinging to Young master with her immature body was truly ridiculous.

The woman with a demure face felt similar to me… but the sight of her following something did not look good.

The woman from the Central Plains wearing military uniform was assertive. But her overbearing behavior towards Young master was truly rude.

The woman in black always looked depressed. Young master’s actions of keeping such a woman close by… were difficult for a lowly person like me to understand.”

Kang In-ho felt like he knew who Chunhyang was referring to.

“Anyway, whenever I tried to peek into Young master’s memories, these women interfered with me. Even though they were just imaginary beings created by Young master’s subconscious, they were so wary of me….”

Chunhyang shook her head as if she was in trouble.

“I wanted to be Young master’s only woman, but there are too many obstacles.”

Pressure was applied to the hands that were placed on top of each other. Like a snake constricting its prey, the increasingly tightening atmosphere made Kang In-ho feel suffocated.

“Why… are you doing this… why are you doing this?”

After a long time of choking, what he spat out was a foolish question.

He already knew how the answer to this question would come back.

    “You ask the obvious.”

Like on their first night, Chunhyang blushed and smiled bashfully.

    “Because I adore Young master.”

Chunhyang raised her hand and stroked Kang In-ho’s face.

“I adore Young master, who has a noble soul like me, equal to me.”
