EP.12 Welcome to the Most Perfect World-1

Welcome to the Most Perfect World – 1
I felt a dull impact on my chest, and I remember collapsing right after that.
I think NB called my name in between, but I couldn’t tell if it was a dream or reality.
“Ugh…”
A groan escaped involuntarily. I slowly raised myself.
A white hospital room came into view.
Spotless curtains and the warm sunlight seeping through them.
The savory smell of food wafted from afar, and a cozy blanket pressed down on my body.
The pleasant pressure made me strongly want to snuggle deeper into the blanket and sleep more.
“Where is this…”
Where am I? Is this one of the bases NB mentioned?
[A-11 base is the most developed among the bases.]
It looks better than the A-11 base at a glance. Or maybe I secretly entered some facility.
While I was thinking about this and that, the door opened.
“Are you awake?”
“NB!”
My lips naturally curled up, and a sense of relief washed over me.
NB’s gray eyes were fixed on me.
“How is your body?”
NB placed a small table on the bed, put down the food, and then put a hand on my head to check my condition.
“Your body temperature has returned to normal. Judging from the absence of other abnormal signs, the treatment seems to have been successful.”
“Can you tell me what happened? And where is this?”
“To answer your questions in order, you collapsed after being shot by a security Drone. Ah, of course, the Ark did not target Kang In-ho. The Ark thought I was harming Kang In-ho and fired in protection.”
NB ladled stew and brought the spoon to my lips.
“???”
I looked at NB, not understanding what she meant, and
“Ah-“
NB opened her mouth and made a sound.
“Ah? Mmph!”
Suddenly, a spoon entered my mouth.
The savory and slightly sweet taste of the stew invigorated my body.
“I, I can eat myself.”
“Your strength is greatly diminished. In this case, it is better to entrust your body to a professional nurse rather than moving around unnecessarily.”
NB ladled stew again and brought the spoon to my lips.
“Ah-“
I opened my mouth at NB’s sound.
“Ah…”
Soon after, the spoon entered my mouth, and I ate the stew.
For a while, I just ate the stew that NB fed me. When the spoon scraped the bottom of the bowl, I was able to ask what I was curious about again.
“You didn’t answer what I asked earlier. Where is this?”
“This is a hospital inside Aaru.”
“Another base?”
NB didn’t answer my question but cut the bread into small pieces and held it out to my mouth.
“Eat.”
“Ah, yeah, thanks.”
I mumbled as I received the bread and thought.
I didn’t know there was a base with such good facilities. Why didn’t NB tell me? Couldn’t we make this the main base?
Ah, it’s because it’s a base inside Aaru, so it’s dangerous. If that’s the case, I understand.
“The Ark found out, so the Ark will definitely look for me, right?”
“If Kang In-ho leaves this place, the Ark will definitely chase after Kang In-ho.”
“Sigh… then what should we do now? Since both you and I have been exposed to the Ark, it’s difficult to operate outside.”
NB brushed off the bread crumbs that had fallen on her body, as if to say it was okay with my worries.
I thought I could faintly see confidence in NB’s expressionless face.
“You don’t have to worry. Security Drones will not enter this place, so Kang In-ho can stay here until safety is secured.”
“NB, what about you?”
“I will also stay by Kang In-ho’s side as much as possible. However, there will be times when I have to leave to procure daily necessities.”
“Isn’t it dangerous? Security will be tighter.”
“There is a way.”
If NB says so, then it must be so. I leaned back on the soft pillow.
NB neatly arranged the empty dishes, put them on a tray, and got up from her seat.
“Please rest.”
“Where are you going?”
“I’m going to clean up the dishes and scout around for a bit.”
“Is the base quite big?”
“I’ll introduce it to you when you’ve fully recovered. Then I’ll be going.”
“Okay, I understand.”
NB turned around and headed for the door.
Her swaying white hair reflected the light and shone brightly.
“Ah, there’s something I need to tell you.”
NB, who was holding the doorknob, made a rare sound.
NB turned her body slightly, facing me.
“What is it?”
“I’ve decided on a name.”
“Oh… suddenly?”
“Yes. While going through yesterday’s events, I succeeded in coming up with a suitable name.”
I felt like NB was smiling slightly.
“What’s the name?”
NB’s name that NB made herself. I urged her like a child opening a Christmas present.
“Isis.”
“Isis? That’s a goddess’s name, right?”
“It’s a name taken from another place, but there was definitely a goddess with the same name.”
“It’s a pretty name.”
I praised her with pure admiration.
“I’m glad you like it.”
NB showed a richer expression, opened the door, and went out.
